Cameron glanced up, then down again. Listening to their laughter reminded him of the first time he saw them together, and it brought back the emotion that came with it. He didn’t know what the name was, but it made him think he was… a bad boyfriend. Of course, he would remind himself, Liam and Jess were somehow closer than what Cameron and Lilah were, but it still gave Cameron that unsettled, unhappy feeling in his chest.

Cameron glanced up and straightened up off of the wall. He didn’t say much, he just nodded and hid his true disgruntled emotions behind a slight grin.

Lilah grabbed her purse from beside the door and waited for everyone to leave the suite. Jess and Liam walked, hand in hand, grinning as they made their way to the elevator. Lilah sighed as she watched them walk down the hall.

Cameron glanced over his shoulder for the dogs, and walked out of the suite, closing and locking the door once he and Lilah were set. He gave one last slight sigh to the door and turned around, ready to start walking.

Cameron glanced at her and took her hand. “I guess I am.” He offered a half-hearted grin back.

"We don't have to go if you don't want to, you know. I just thought it might be fun. And I honestly didn't know that they would show up today. I thought they were getting here later this week. And I know I should have talked to you about it first, but I was just so excited to see them that it completely slipped my mind," Lilah rambled, feeling bad about the whole thing.

Cameron sighed softly, listening to her ramblings. “We’re already out the door. Liam and Jes are expecting we take them to the lake. It’s kinda too late to not go. But I don’t mind.” He left a few words omitted, instead thought, Though I’m not in a Lake mood….

Cameron shifted his grip on her hand. “I’m sure. Let’s go catch up, yeah?” The question felt dead on his tongue. He really didn’t want to go catch up with the other two.

Cameron tailed Lilah into the elevator and pressed the GF button. The elevator shuddered intk movement, smoothly going down.

"So, Jess," Lilah started, leaning into Cameron as she looked over at Liam's fiancée. "How did he propose?"

The girl smiled brightly and looked over at her fiancé, who returned her smile. "Well, he took me out to dinner one night, and he seemed more excited than usual, but I somehow didn't catch on. And after dinner, we went to the lake, where we sat and watched the sunset. Right as we were about to go back, he cleared his throat, and I turned around to see him on one knee. He held the ring box open and gave this quick, beautiful speech and asked me to marry him. Obviously, I said 'yes'."

Cameron leaned into Lilah, and used it as a reason to turn his head. Really? Brilliant, I get to hear about wedding plans, too. Cameron mentally shook himself. He didn’t want to be bitter about the situation. He should be glad that Lilah’s brother is getting married.

Deleted user

But he wasn’t glad.

Jealous?

No, why would he be jealous?

It’s just a bonding of souls.

Something wonderful and secret to the couple.

Why would he be jealous?

The elevator dinged when they reached the ground floor, and Lilah stepped out, gently pulling Cameron with her. The newly engaged couple was right behind them, and they looked around as they waited.

Cameron blinked a couple times and remembered how to walk, tailing Lilah. He just needed to focus on her. If she wasn’t ready to get married (if Cameron was being honest, he had no idea what she thinks, and he’a loved her for at least two years) then he would just forget it and be happy with the way they are now.

(Poor Cam can't read her mind… sigh)

"So, I guess we can all take the Jeep unless you two wanted to drive separate?" Lilah suggested, looking over at her brother and Jessica.

"No, the Jeep sounds good. We're less likely to get lost that way," Liam agreed, nodding slowly.

"Yeah, seriously… Do you know how many times he got us lost on the way here?" Jess asked, giving Liam a look. "Like, ten. I didn't even know that was possible!"

Deleted user

Like ten. That’s not even a unit of measurement. Cameron had to stop himself from rolling his eyes. Suddenly he became a snooty brainiac instead of the charming idiot.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(Ten times… They got lost ten times…)

"It was not ten!" Liam exclaimed.

Lilah moved so that she had her arm wrapped around Cameron's waist, leaning closer to him slightly as they made their way outside. "I totally believe that, Jess. He's horrible with directions," she chuckled, ignoring her brother, who huffed.

Deleted user

(I know xD It doesn’t make sense to me so I was like

Bleps salt)

Cameron wrapped an arm around her shoulders and sighed softly. “Why didn’t we just walk?” He asked her this softly, so the pair’s discussion of many directions (I actually laughed at that, btw) wasn’t interrupted.

Deleted user

“It’d be nice, since it’s just down the hill.” And I might have a chance at accidentally pushing one of them into a bush.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

"Yeah, it would," Lilah agreed before turning to the other couple, who were bickering about directions and such. "Guys. Seriously. Stop. We're walking there."

They froze, staring at each other for a moment, before turning to Lilah. Liam nodded and wrapped an arm around Jess.

"All right, that sounds good, too," he said.

Cameron gave a roll of his eyes and continued walking with Lilah in his arm. “This is going to be wonderful…” He hissed this to himself, matching his step with Lilah’s.

Lilah paused, her eyebrows coming together and her smile falling when she heard Cameron's words, though he probably hadn't meant for her to hear. She let Liam and Jess walk ahead for a bit before she turned to Cameron, her eyes holding intense worry.

"What's wrong?" she demanded gently. "And don't tell me it's nothing because whatever it is is palpable."

Deleted user

Cameron blinked a couple times and paused next to her, his arm falling to his side.
“What do you mean? Nothing’s wrong,” This was a blunt lie but he didn’t care. He knew she’d be able to see through it and nip the problem at the bud. This would possibly lead her to be upset. That’s mostly what he cared about about at the moment.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

"Don't lie to me. I know something's wrong, and I'm sick of wondering what it is. I'm trying my best to make today a good day for you, and you've been in a mood ever since they got here," Lilah said, trying to keep her voice calm.
