The hug surprised Phoebe slightly, but she quickly sank into it, wrapping her arms comfortingly around Marco.

Marco backed out of the hug and continued mixing in the garlic. "Cooking brings back memories," he said simply. "I'll be fine."

Phoebe have him a light squeeze, sending that he wouldn’t want to be coddled. “Do you like to bake?”

"Anything that involves a stirring motion brings back the memory," Marco finished with the garlic and put the cutting board into the sink.

Phoebe’s hand found his briefly, before she pulled away to drain the pasta, wishing she knew how to comfort Marco further.

Micah didn't dare interrupt their conversation. He awkwardly leaned against the wall so he didn't have to use the crutch.

Mariko walked over to Micah and made sure Marco and Phoebe weren't looking before she kissed him on the cheek.
