Alec's eyes floated up to Clove, remembering what Bren had told him about her. "Oh! Well," Alec paused for a moment, looking over at Bren. "Well, a few of the doctors got him an iPod–for music." Alec said, re-situating himself on the grass. Leaning back on his hands, he gave a small nod following his words.

"No!" Bren yelled, snatching his I-Pod and holding it close to his chest. "It's mine!"
As her grew more panicked, the scales on his face started to move. By now they had almost completely covered his face, they had picked up on his fast heartbeat and responded in the only way they could.

Clove frowned, scrunching up her nose. “Whatever,” She said, her interest peaked. She made herself look like she didn’t care though. She put her hands up in a surrendering gesture.

@KoffeeOwl

Alec jumped as Bren yelled, drawing his wings in close to his back. Noticing that Bren's face was now covered in black scales, he leaned over once again. "It's okay," Alec said, now looking at Bren. "I don't think she was going to take it."

Deleted user

"Mine." He hissed, his eyes going to slits. He was still clutching the I-pod to his chest and looked down at it, making sure it wasn't broken. He glared at Clove before looking down again.

@MusicElle-is-here

“I wasn’t going to take it,” Clove added, glancing at Alec. She tried for a compassionate smile, but honestly she was now more interested in the iPod than she would have been otherwise. “What’s so special about it anyway?”

Deleted user

"It's mine newbie." He hissed out, still glaring at her. He disliked new things, new people, most of all. Plus, her smile wasn't fooling anyone.

@MusicElle-is-here

Clove frowned again, though milder than her last icy expression. She didn’t like being called a newbie, though she knew she hadn’t been here as long as the other two. “Good for you.” She already didn’t like Bren, but Alec she didn’t mind.

@KoffeeOwl

Alec sat silently across from Bren now, looking from the scaled boy up to Clove every now and then. His pupils were large and round with nervousness. Neither of the people around him seemed to be happy, which made the situation all the more uncomfortable.

@MusicElle-is-here

Clove was still frowning, not particularly enjoying the present company she was in, but staying because she was curious. She was used to being uncomfortable anyways, and she knew the other newbies might want to know a thing or two about these guys. Plus, Alec didn’t seem so bad.

Bren stared at her, knowing what she was probably thinking. Well, you done goofed Bren. He thought I mean, It doesn't really matter what they think. Being one of the first subjects gives that effect, you don't care at all.

@KoffeeOwl

The feathers on Alec's wings and the tiny ones under his eyes finally lay flat. He slouched a bit in the position he was sitting. The air had seemed thick since Clove and Bren had started speaking with each other, their words hardly nice. He shifted around, finally speaking, he said, "Well, there's no harm in explaining." Alec said, keeping his tone light as he directed his words at Bren.

"It's supposed to help with my treatment, Clove." He said tersely, his scales retracting just a bit. He still didn't trust her, well he didn't trust anyone here but Alec. Allec was nice.

@MusicElle-is-here

“Thank you for the explanation,” Clove replied, just as terse. She wasn’t surprised he knew her name, since she was fairly well known around the others, especially the newer ones. Her expression was cold, as usual, an icy, twisted attempt at her formerly happy, friendly self. Any true friendliness or happiness had vanished by now.

@KoffeeOwl

Alec cringed internally at just how much more tense things had gotten. 'At least they aren't snapping at each other anymore…' He thought, letting out a puff of air through his teeth. He finally straightened up, and put his hands on his knees. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Clove. My name is Alec," He said, introducing himself in a -most likely- vain attempt to clear the air.

@MusicElle-is-here

Her eyes snapped to him. “Likewise,” She said, not quite as terse as before, but still cool. She almost couldn’t help acting cold towards the others, it was part of how she coped (and partially due to the genetic alterations). She didn’t say anything else or try to make idle conversation.

Bren finally stopped death gripping his music player, opting to grab his earbuds from his jacket pocket and to start listening to music. He put his earbuds in and chose a song he liked called 'I'm not okay (I promise)', he chose to ignore the people around him and just get lost in the music.

@KoffeeOwl

Alec rocked back and forth on his feet as he got into a crouch, his hands still resting on his knees. Soon, over an intercom, a voice could be heard. "Breakfast will now be served in the cafeteria." It was a woman's voice, flat and emotionless. Every morning the same message could be heard, and every morning Alec would go to the cafeteria to grab his breakfast which almost always consisted of some type of raw fish, milk and oatmeal with various things mixed in. The subjects' meals were made specifically for them, being labeled. The doctors usually based meal choices off of the subjects new DNA.

Bren unplugged his earbuds when he heard the women, standing up and walking towards the cafeteria. He always sat by himself, the other subjects not wanting to go near him. Not since the incident of last time, let's say… Bren is very, very territorial of his food.

Clove sighed when she heard the announcement. She didn’t enjoy eating, in fact, she hated it. She felt most inhuman when she was eating and so felt most conflicted. She hated it. Clove glanced at the others before standing up reluctantly and beginning to walk.

@KoffeeOwl

(Ohohohoh, now we now why he was in solitary, )
Alec jumped up from his position on the ground, and dusted himself off. There were remnants of grass and dust on the tips of his wings, but he didn't care. Taking a deep breath in, he began to head for the sliding glass doors of the Dome. Once in front of them, Alec slipped through; that was one perk of the feline DNA that they had given him. He had become quite a bit more flexible, being able to make his way through crowds more effectively.

@MusicElle-is-here

Her fox DNA had made it possible for her to eat many things, as foxes are scavengers and omnivores, so the scientists seemed to like testing that, which annoyed Clove. Of course, she was only a test subject, no matter how important she tried to make herself.

@KoffeeOwl

(Violence?)
Alec quickly walked up to a table that housed many Styrofoam containers, each bearing numbers and names. Scanning the white containers for his name, Alec quickly located the one that held the numbers 311. Picking it up, he whirled around and padded off to a round table that sat along one of the walls; one of the many tables like this. Every morning, this was where Alec sat, alone per usual. Most of the other subjects sat alone, in fact; or at least tried to. He popped open the lid of the container to see it sectioned up. Today there was raw fish, strawberries and blackberries and oatmeal. This was usual, and didn't really bother Alec.

Bren sat down at his table, opening his container. His container, unlike the others, was very large. It took up about half of his table. He opened it, revealing a large carcass. He shot a glare to the newbies who were starring at him.
