North nodded thanks to Life and walked towards Death's door. "You first." She said to Pax, waiting for him.
North nodded thanks to Life and walked towards Death's door. "You first." She said to Pax, waiting for him.
Pax glanced at her. “Nah. You can go first.”
North sighed and knocked on the door. "If I knew we had to see Death I wouldn't have come."
“Death is the only one who can take us to Insanity.”
“Insanity, you say?” Asked Death’s drawling, deep voice from behind them.
"See this is why I don't like you." She said, turning around to face him.
Death frowned. “I have offered no reason for you to dislike me.”
"Well..you're just a difficult subject in general. Pax you can..talk now.." She sighed, taking a step away from him.
Death watched her step away. “A difficult subject? Please elaborate.” He seemed curious, not mocking.
"I'd rather not." She said quietly, not looking at him.
Death gazed at her. She was unable to see his eyes through his dense black hair.
“If you are so sure.”
"I am." She continued looking down.
“I am sorry. I did not mean to make you uncomfortable.”
"It's fine. I'm fine." She sighed, smiling a little again and looking up,
Death nodded a bit. “If you are sure. I do not want to give you a reason to avoid me.”
"No, no. I'm okay. Promise."
Death sighed softly and turned to Pax. “What do you need, Shapeshifter?”
“I need you to take me to Insanity.”
"Us." North muttered quietly.
Pax tossed his head. “Us.”
“Very well, Shapeshifter.” Death stuck out his pair of skeletal hands to North and Pax.
North reached out tentatively and laid her hand on Death's.
Pax set his hands on Death’s. Death’s hands were cold, but not unpleasant. Pax seemed to shiver when he touched Death, though.
“Ready?” The God asked slowly.
North nodded, the closest she'd ever be to Death. It was terrifying.
Death looked at her, or more like turned his face to her. “There is no need to be afraid of me.” He crooned this almost child-like.
"Just..take us to insanity." She said calmly.
(Insanity is capitalizzzzzeeeedddd)
Death sighed and she blinked. They were at an underground lab of the sort. But it was dark and littered with pizza boxes and beer bottles. There was child-like screaming coming from down the hall.
(im sorrrryryyyyyyyy)
North glanced around nervously. "Well this is…"
Pax glanced around and sighed. “He’s down this way.” He pointed to the source of the screams.
North fell silent and walked down the way Pax had pointed.
Pax tailed her down the dark hall. There were multiple doors, one was cracked open, sending a strip of light onto the opposite wall. More screams came from the room.
North kept far away from the room. "Where do we go?"
“In-in there.” Pax’s voice caught in his throat in the first word.
