"Only if you come with me to see it." Eve grinned up at him

"Of course!" He led her to a side room with many guitars and the drum set sat there. It was a dark blue almost black.

Eve followed Kai to the room the drum set was in, excited. Once she saw it, her eyes widened. "Oh my god! This drum set is beautiful!" She practically shouted, running her fingers over the shiny dark blue paint.

“You wanna play it?” He asked, holding out some drum sticks.

"Yeah!" Eve nodded and took the drumsticks from him before sitting down at the set. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply, loving the smell of the brand new instrument and getting in the zone to play. She began one of the songs she and her band had written, focusing only on the music as the rest of the world faded away.

Kai sat down to watch her, loving the look that was on her face.

After she had finished, she paused for a moment, letting the sound resonate around the small room and pretending she was in front of a large crowd. She was breathing heavily as she always put her all into playing whether it was a real performance in front of a large crowd or not.

Kai grinned and clapped a little for her. “That was amazing!”

Eve came back to reality at the sound of Kai's clapping. She ducked her head, a little embarrassed that she'd forgotten where she was for a moment. "Thanks."

"That was so good." He grinned.

Eve let out a nervous laugh, "Thank you. Sorry." She looked up at him and grinned sheepishly.

“Why are you apologizing?” He laughed, tilting his head slightly.

"Because I basically just ignored you for a few minutes." Eve got up and walked back over to him. "It really is a beautiful drum set though."

“It’s fine I like watching you play.” He pulled her into his lap and ran his hand through her hair, smiling.

Eve smiled, "Either way, next time, I'll try not to forget where I am as much." She giggled and kissed Kai gently.

Kai sighed happily and kissed her back, putting his hand behind her head.

Eve smiled into the kiss and pulled him a little closer to her.

“I’ve never seen your band. You any good?”

"Yeah, at least, I think so but I'm a little biased." Eve laughed before continuing, "We usually perform at one of the bars here on campus."

“Yeah? I should come see you sometime.” He grinned.

"Well, maybe you should." Eve agreed and kissed Kai again before hopping off his lap. "Back to the drums," she started with a laugh, "how much are they? And when would I be able to take them? I think we have a gig coming up soon and I kinda wanna practice on these before then if at all possible." Eve finished with a big grin.

Kai told her the price and talked about shipping etc. “I think you’ll love them.”

"Oh, I agree! I can't wait!" Eve bounced a little on her feet and clapped her hands giddily. "Thank you for showing them to me!"

Kai laughed a little, enjoying her looking so happy. "Me too."

Eve hugged Kai and turned back to the drums, admiring how pretty they looked. She walked a circle around them once more before turning back to Kai with a smile, "When do you get off work today?"

"Bout an hour still. You could go get something to eat if you like and meet me back here?"

"Okay, but I'm bringing you something back." Eve bargained, kissing Kai's cheek and grabbing his hand to lead him out of the small room and back into the music shop.

“Thank you. Love you.” He kissed her quickly.

Eve kissed him back quickly and pulled away but continued to hold onto his hands. She sighed and let go, "I guess I have to actually leave to do that though." She walked out the door and looked back to wave at Kai before quickly walking back to the diner she worked at to get something for her and Kai to eat.

Kai worked hard for a while, in a good mood because of Eve. His boss left after about 45 minutes and Kai sat down, waiting for Eve.
