M twitched awake, his breath catching in slight pain. His chest constricted and he gasped for air, caught his breath and relaxed slowly.

(Thanks
please don't pass out
you got this)
Lila whimpered slightly in her sleep, now laying curled up next to M, her face pressed against his arm.
(If I spell like, something wrong, don’t yell at me.)
M groaned faintly and stirred around her, pulling her closer. She was warm and soft in his arms.
(I won't, don't worry.)
Lila snuggled close to him, her little fist clenched around the soft fabric of his shirt. She twitched nervously, still frowning.
M half-closed his eyes and let out a shuddering breath that rattled in his throat. He felt pathetic and meek.
Lila blinked suddenly awake and rolled over sleepily, pushing herself into a sitting position.
M stirred a little but didn’t raise his head. He moved his arms from around her and hugged himself.
Lila bent down and kissed his cheek. "Bye bye." She said quietly, her pale blonde hair brushing against his face briefly before scooting to the edge of the bed and looking down.
M glanced over and hoarsely returned the good-bye. He shut his eyes again and sunk deeper into the sheets and pillows.
Lila slipped off the bed and walked out of the room, looking around the big hallway for someone she knew.
It was plesantly empty. Everyone was probably outside enjoying the snow.
“Hello?” She called out quietly.
No answer apart from the wind blowing at the frames of the windows. The eerie clacking of the trees answered too.
Lila ran back to M’s room. “M! Where’s mama?”
M tensed on the bed and opened his eyes. “I am not sure.”
“Help me!”
M sighed and slowly sat up, his joints groaning in protest. He rose out of the bed and looked down at her. No wonder he was in so much pain. He was a giant of a human.
Lila walked over to him and reached up, taking his hand and walking him out of the room.
The slight bending it took the hold her little hand irritated his back more, but he ignored it and forced himself to walk anyway.
Lila smiled happily and continued walking with him until they reached the stairs. She let go of his hand and held on to the pillers on the banister, taking the stairs one at a time, very focused.
M hated steps. They always jolted his hips if he went too fast down them and sent pain through his legs. He slowly followed the child and soon they were both on the ground. M gave a soft sigh of relief.
“Tricky steps.” She said quietly, walking into the kitchen and looking around. “No people M.”
M glanced around the kithen. “They must be outside.” Even talking hurt. Did he have a cold? Again?
No M you’re dying.
Lila walked around the kitchen again just in case, then went over to M and set her hand on his leg. “No outside.”
It’s possible to have a cold and be old -.-
M blinked down at her. “Excuse me?”
Yeah but it usually doesn’t end that well
“Too cold.” She said, looking back up at him.
Tru dat
M blinked at her. “I am sure it’s fine. They could be in the library.”
Lila nodded. “Book.” She said, turning around and walking in a promising direction.
M followed her and occasionally pointed her in the correct direction of the library. Soon the pair approached it.
Lila smiled happily up at M. “Libary!” She exclaimed, clapping her hands.
