After about fifteen minutes, Liam grabbed Mortem and walked back over to Kasey's, opening the door and putting his cat down, "I'm back, and Mortem's with me."
After about fifteen minutes, Liam grabbed Mortem and walked back over to Kasey's, opening the door and putting his cat down, "I'm back, and Mortem's with me."
Quake quickly jumped up onto Kasey's lap when she noticed the other cat, and she cowered there, giving him a fierce glare. Kasey chuckled and petted her with one hand as she held her burger in the other.
"Welcome back. Judging from Quake's initial reaction, this should be interesting," Kasey said in greeting, smiling at Liam before eating the last bite of her burger.
Liam sighed and walked over to Kasey with a small laugh, "Yup, hopefully they get along."
Mortem trotted over to where the two were, looking up at Quake from his position on the floor. After a few moments of staring, the black cat rolled over onto his back lazily.
"Mmhm," Kasey hummed in agreement around her mouthful of food.
Quake continued to give Mortem a look for a while before deciding that he probably wasn't worth it. She jumped down to the floor, lightly landing on her toes beside Mortem's head.
Mortem rolled onto his stomach before standing and stretching. Quake was so small compared to the older cat she could probably walked under him. Well, Mortem walked over Quake.
Quake crouched under Mortem, looking up at his belly warily. Why was she suddenly underneath him?
Kasey chuckled and gathered her plate, moving to stand and put it away. She leaned on the table for support for a moment, hoping she could make it to the sink herself.
Liam looked over at Kasey with a small frown, “You goo? Need me to put that away for you?”
"I'm fine," Kasey assured him, shooting him a quick smile before limping over to the sink.
Harper was still there, washing dishes from earlier. He glanced up when he heard Kasey walk in and smiled at her.
"Hey, sis. Glad to see you're awake," he greeted her. "Just set your plate down here, I'll take care of it."
Kasey returned his smile and did as he said before starting back over to where Liam was. "Thanks, Harper."
Liam had sat down in the floor, Quake in his lap and Mortem by his feet. He was humming quietly and stopped when he saw Kasey and smiled at her, “All good?”
Kasey gave him a thumbs up as she limped back over to him.
"She likes you," she mused, glancing at Quake in his lap.
Liam chuckled, “Good, I’d hope so. I think Mortem is a bit jealous.”
"Aw, the big, fluffy baby is jealous?" Kasey cooed, carefully sitting beside Liam and picking Mortem up.
“Oi, he’s a bringer of darkness thank-you very much.” Liam joked, stifling a laugh.
"'Bringer-of-darkness indeed," Kasey chuckled, rubbing behind the cat's ears. "Fluffy baby~…"
"He is not a 'fluffy baby' Kasey!" Liam frowned a little and muttered something inaudible as he brought Quake to his chest.
"All cats are fluffy babies. You cannot convince me otherwise," Kasey declared, looking over at Liam with a playful smile. "Especially Quake. She's even more of one."
“Quake I can agree with, Mortem is not a fluffy baby.” Liam said, sighing a little
"Well, seeing as she was named after a natural disaster – and certainly lives up to her name at times – I'd say that Quake might not necessarily be a fluffy baby," Kasey said with a shrug. "But… Both cats are fluffy, and I consider almost all cats my babies, so, therefore, they are fluffy babies."
Liam shook his head in defeat, “Whatever you say love, whatever you say.” He placed Quake down in his lap again.
Kasey chuckled and continued stroking Mortem's head. "According to Harper, I can be quite stubborn… I guess that might be true."
Liam snorted, “It is quite true my dear. You are extremely stubborn.”
"In my defense, I have to be stubborn to win battles, sometimes," Kasey said with a smile, shrugging slightly.
“You don’t have to be subbon with me through!” Liam protested, crossing his arms.
"But when I'm stubborn, you get frustrated, and it's cute," Kasey giggled, blushing slightly as she grinned over at him.
“I do not get frustrated! And I’m not cute either….” Liam said, mumbling the last part as he looked down at the cat in his lap.
"You're totally cute," Kasey teased, leaning slightly closer to him. "And you seem pretty frustrated to me."
“Well I’m not so you should check your facts again…” Liam mumbled, tapping a rhythm on his leg distractedly.
"Not frustrated or not cute?" Kasey asked, nudging him playfully. "Because if you're saying you're not cute, then I'd bed to differ."
“I’m not either of those things.” Liam said matter of factly, stroking Quake.
(Ah, snow. How I love it… sighs and shakes head)
Kasey scooted closer and rested her head on his shoulder. "But you think I'm cute… Why can't I think you're cute?"
