Wordlessly, Brook rearranged her black bishop on the board, stealing a glimpse toward her opponent for any glint of doubt in his eyes. Of course, there was no actual board between them, as the two were sat in the dirt of the Human Faction's village, and their pieces were comprised entirely of flattened rocks with symbols painted over the surface, but the tension of a real game remained. It was rare she ever found a willing human to play with, especially during times such as this, though she wasn't complaining. By all definition, she was winning, so why would she?

Keri jumped from building to building in the human faction, doing flips and other tricks as she went, she was supposed to meet a new client in a few minutes but decided to just skip and find a different assignment. As Keri looked down into the dirt street below her she saw a game of chess and sighed, some people really are desperate for something to do. she continued jumping and soon got to her favorite spot in the whole village, a tall building that overlooked their faction and all of the other ones. she sat down, hanging her legs over the edge and feeling the wind blow her brown hair around her face.

(Aaanyway.)
Indra sheathed his ultravibrational rifle, and walked out of the trenches. The village was mostly houses, a few farms, a blacksmith place, a bakery, a few shops, the town hall, and an inn, with a trench encircling it. The place was quaint.

Axion stopped writing and sighed. She missed being able to talk to people, she was completely lost and didn’t have a clue where her faction even was. At the same time she wasn’t bothered, she had survived out here on her own long enough after all.

Hunter heard the chittering of his familiar from behind him. "Con, you know I need you. So can you come up here and make sure I don't die or something." He asks Con, Con flying up and perching onto Hunter's shoulder.

As her opponent's paths for victory slowly began to narrow, she leaned over to rearrange her rook piece closer to her king in an attempt to mount a stronger defense, only for her opponent to dramatically throw his arms up, signaling the acceptance of his impending defeat. "I yield." He admitted, all too willing to resign. "You declare defeat?" She asked with a raise of her brow, hand still lingering upon her chess piece. "Why not? It'd be insulting to drag this on any further." Her expression gradually morphed from mild confusion to smug realization as she let her hand slip back from the board and onto her lap, clasping both hands together. Drawing out a match when one's defeat was almost certain did deliver the implied message that you did not think your opponent capable of sealing the victory. "You know the rules, then." Brook spoke, a grin stretched across her face as she extended her hand towards the other just as he had already begun to fish out his wallet. "Yeah, yeah, as promised."

Keri looked up and saw a pink flare and sighed with relief, she didn't have to go back yet. she slowly stood up and adjusted her gray baseball cap, waiting for the next one to go back to the small cardboard box that she called a home.

Axion saw a pink flare way off in the distance from where she was. She didn’t know what it meant, but she did know that it was probably something that wouldn’t kill her. Groaning she got up and started gathering her stuff to go investigate the flare.

The man begrudgingly handed over the promised amount, exactly twenty dollars in cash. She folded the dollar bils into a neat square, before tucking them away in her pants pocket for future use. "I swear, all you demons care about is money and power." Her then opponent mumbled to himself as he rose from the ground, his poor attitude befitted for a sore loser. "Money, power, and a warm meal." She corrected snidely, reminding him of its major importance. But by then, he was already gone and the flairs were high in the air, painting the sky in rich lines of pink. With that, she uncrossed her legs and stood upright, dusting the back of her pants free from any dirt.

Con whispered in Hunter's ear. "A pink flare." Con said, pushing Hunter's head in the direction of where the flare went off.

Axion gathered all her stuff, and took one last look at her tree that she had been living in for months now. “Come Kathia.” A black cat jumped down from the top branches and sat on her shoulders. She turned to Kathia. “You ready to go?” The cat started purring. “I’ll take that as a yes.” She then jumped out of the tree and then started off towards where that flare was.

Truth be told, she wasn't sure what the flairs signified or what importance its color served, given that she was a recent arrival, though with the amount of people currently en route to the location of the flair, she supposed it had something to do with a village gathering? Would that include her? She wasn't much for these sorts of events, but the last thing she needed was for the humans to start suspecting her. Quickly, she knelt down to brush aside her chess pieces into the hole she dug up, covering them up with dirt and marking the surrounding earth with a messy circle. Then, she began making her way towards the source of the signal.

Hunter started walking towards where Con said the flairs were, hiding his wings with a quick illusion spell. Hunter felt Con look at him, most likely weirdly. "What? I don't want humans to freak out."

Immediately, people came in thrpugh the trenchgates. One basket was full of fruit. A few apples, mostly blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and a few grapes. The next held lavender, a few other herbs, two potatoes, and a bunch of carrots. Guards with the same ultravibration rifles as Indra escorted them. Indra was a man who had the job of niche-filler. He was a renaissance man, who was whatever the village needed him to be.

Wading through the sudden sea of people pouring in from the trenchgates, Brook side-stepped when necessary to avoid any unwanted contact, minimalizing the threat of collision. That is, until she caught a glimpse of the recent haul, in which she angled her hip out a bit further than usual while she reached around one of the gatherers to snatch an apple from the basket as she bumped into them on 'accident'. Facing the other backwards, she assumed an expression of mock sympathy, grasping the fruit behind herself as she continued her path. "Terribly sorry about that! I should really watch where I'm going." She apologized.

@Shuri-the-Floof-Doggo

"I'm gonna have to ask you not to do that." Indra said to the thief, still watching the people. "I'll let it slide today, but if you try it again, I'll pump you so full of vibrations that your orgsns will be itching for a week."

"Pardon me, does anyone know where I can find the leader of this place?" Hunter calls out, his melodic voice very loud for someone his size.

"Thank you, where would that be?" He asks, obviously confused on what the fuck a town hall is.

"Kinky." She replied mockingly while turning to face the guard directly, making no further effort to mask her stolen good as she took a bite out of the apple. She looked over her shoulder at the new arrival, raising a brow, before going on her way.

Hunter turned to the small dragon on his shoulder. "You think you can find that Con?" He asked the dragon gave a small noise of agreement. "Thank you for your help." He said to the man who had told them where it was.
