Cameron took the plates and silverware. “You don’t have to, though… you can easily stay. I don’t want you to get in trouble.”
Cameron took the plates and silverware. “You don’t have to, though… you can easily stay. I don’t want you to get in trouble.”
"Yeah, like I'm going to let you leave me here," Lilah said, shaking her head slowly and offering him a small smile. "I want to leave, and if I'm with you then it's even better."
Cameron gave a slight frown. “Alright… if you say so. Ready to go?”
"Yeah. Let's do this," Lilah said determinedly as she grabbed her suitcase from beside the counter and started toward the door.
Cameron lugged the cooler and his sweater and jeans. “Should we grab the dogs?”
"Oh, yeah, let's do that quick," Lilah agreed, heading for the garden.
Cameron exhaled slowly. “Lily’s going to love this nighttime trip.”
"I hope Lilac does, too. She's always loved car rides, but she tends to fall asleep during them," Lilah chuckled.
Cameron laughed with her. “I think all dogs do that.”
"Do they? They all just fall asleep?" Lilah asked with a soft laugh.
“It’s like, the car and how it feels when they ride. It lulls everyone to sleep.”
"I suppose that's true. If I wasn't driving, I'd probably fall asleep, too," Lilah said with a nod.
Cameron laughed. “That means I’m due for sleeptown.”
(You don’t play the kazoo… you are the kazoo…)
(??? Okay?)
"Yeah, I'm sure you'll fall asleep," Lilah chuckled. "It definitely wouldn't surprise me."
(Yes)
Cameron yawned slowly. "Especially if the seats get warm… mm…" He felt himself dozing just by thinking about it.
"Cam, don't fall asleep yet!" Lilah exclaimed, laughing.
Cameron didn't shake himself awake. "But it's so commfyyy in heeerrree!"
"Cameron!" Lilah exclaimed softly as she swatted at his arm.
Cameron gave an innocent little giggle. "Whaaaaat?"
"No falling asleep while walking," Lilah said as they reached the garden.
"But I'm so comomomomoffyyyyy!" Cameron gave a slight whine. He wanted to go back to sleep.
"Just wait until we get in the car, okay?" Lilah practically pleaded with him.
Cameron nodded and rubbed his face with his free hand. "Right. Back to the car."
"But first the dogs, remember?" Lilah said as they stepped outside. "Lilac! Lily!"
A small lump of white fur stirred at their right and Lily stood up slowly. She gave a smol yawn and tottered over.
"Looks like someone is just as tired as her owner," Lilah chuckled at the state of the puppy. Lilac joined them soon after, bounding over from another part of the garden. "And there's my baby!"
Cameron picked up the puppy, who gave a faint pup whine and rested her muzzle on his chest. Cameron meanwhile was dozing while standing there.
"Oh my word…" Lilah muttered before patting his cheek. "Cameron, come on. Just a little longer, okay?"
Cameron made a faint noise from his throat and leaned his head into her hand. "How are you not tired…?"
"I am tired, but I know that I need to stay awake do I can drive," Lilah explained, pulling her hand away gently.
