Ash continued to climb until they were at the top of the Ferris wheel and she turned back to him, "So what are we doing up here? Other than almost dying as we climbed." She laughed and remembered one of the rungs she'd grabbed on that had broke once they were almost near the top.
Liam snickered “look over there.” He pointed to the left where a poem was written with glow sticks
‘roses are red
Violets aren’t blue
Here’s a secret
I like me, not you’
He tried to muffle his laughter
"Wow, is that really all this was to you? Just some joke? Thanks for letting me know." Ash practically yelled at him and turned to go back down the structure. Once she'd reached the bottom she began to walk home, though it was a long ways away from here.
Liam sighed “Ash wait!” He yelled hurrying down the Ferris wheel. He jumped off the 5 rung “ow..” he said and rubbed his wrist. He ran to catch up to her “Ash wait up!”
"No! I will not wait up for someone who just thought of all of this as a joke." Ash snapped at him and continued walking away from him.
“Well this was supposed to be a light hearted joke. I wanted to spend time with you then end it on a lighthearted note.” He said quietly to himself. He sighed heavily, put his hands in his pockets, and walked back towards the Ferris wheel.
(Oof, I feel bad, but like, I want the drama…but I feel bad…XD)
Ash continued walking, even when she didn't hear Liam's footsteps behind her anymore. She wasn't even that angry, she was more upset that she'd let herself believe that he had actually liked her.
Liam took out his phone and sent her a text ’you can take my bike, I know a quicker way to get home. I’m sorry…’
Ash pulled out her phone when she heard the notification, but once she saw it was from Liam she slid the notification so it would go off her screen. She started crying, becoming extremely upset that she'd fooled herself into thinking Liam liked her as more than a friend.
Liam climbed to the top of the wheel and sat down sadly “I’m a screw up.”
