(Lmaooo)
Floyd shrugged his shoulder. “I’m not much of a history person, so I’ll yake your word for it. I’ll be down in the lab if you need me, yeah?”
He messed up the shorter boy’s hair with his hand affectionately, before turning on his heel and starting back down the hallway.
Before Ace could get a sentence out of his mouth, attempting to fix his hair while watching Floyd make his way to the lab. Shaking his head, he turned, walking to his fathers large office, where a large stack of paperwork sat waiting to be read and signed all by the next day.
When he got to the office he sat down at his father's- no, his- desk, taking a black pen and getting comfortable, it would be a long night.
After a few hours of reading and writing, he ended up falling asleep, his head resting uncomfortably on the desktop, his arms curled around himself as he shivered slightly, stressed with how much work he still had to do even in his dreams.
Floyd had fallen asleep as well, but in his own bed. When it was morning, he woke up, yawning as he stretched. He could smell things cooking in the kitchen, and felt extremely greatful. Sure, they didn’t have much money, but at least they were together.
He got out of bed, his hair messy. He walked downstairs in just a pair of basketball shorts, making his way into the kitchen. “What’s for break-“ he stopped suddenly, surprised to see his brother, Nick, cooking and not his sister.
“You can cook?” He questioned.
“I’m trying. Hope you’re fine if your eggs may possibly be a bit burnt,” Nick responded, chuckling.
“Bastard,” Floyd said, jabbing the taller mans arm with his elbow.
Abana yawned. Yesterday was so confusing. She washed her face, and made some tea.
Ace lay still in his new office, blind to the fact he was only asleep he began to wiggle around, images –of his father taking his last breath terrifying him. His fathers crackling voice repeating his last words, tears poured from the newly-crowned-king's blue eyes, whimpers spilling from his throat before he shot up, heart pounding in his chest. Wiping his eyes, he got up, walking down the hallways into the library, sitting down and staring into the fire, his eyes puffy and face red.
Shit
he thought, staring into the fire,
I still have paperwork to do.
(Imma go to bed now, so goodnight my dudes! I get home at around three tomorrow so yeah I will probably get my homework done and then I will be on for sure.)
After eating breakfast and getting changed, Floyd walked to the castle. He wanted to see how Cassie was doing with the rock, but he also wanted to see how Ace was doing. He imagined that it must have been a big change, becoming a King that fast.
He went down to the lab where Cassie was, and noticed that she looked extremely tired. “Cassie, did you stay here all night?”
“Hm? Oh, yeah.. I can’t figure this thing out. I’ve never seen any of these materials that it is made out of!” She complained in a frustrated tone, holding her head in her hands.
“Alright, come on. Time for a break. I’m going to go checkup on Ace, then we can go out to get something to eat, okay?”
The shorter girl nodded and smiled thankfully. Floyd left her to finish some things up and went to go find Ace.
Abana walked to the lab. She did a few things there when not protecting the king. Actually, she worked in the Biology and Medicine center.
Floyd explored the halls for around ten minutes, attempting to find Ace. He slipped into the library and saw the boy slouched in the chair.
He went up behind the chair and leaned against the back of it. “You okay?” He asked, peering down at his shorter friend.
Ace jumped a bit, snapping out of his trance-like state, his face was pale, and his head pounding in time with his heart.
"Yeah, I'm fine..I just..didn't get a lot of sleep last night with all the paperwork and I guess I'm just a little off.." he murmured, avoiding eye contact with Floyd.
"How are you doing? Any good news regarding the sample you found above ground yesterday?" he asked, running his hand down his face, attempting to sound more in focus than he actually was.
Floyd rested a hand on Ace’s shoulder. “I’m fine, and Cassie hasn’t said anything yet. She has no idea what it is. But that’s not what I came to talk about..”
He let go of his shoulder and moved in front of his friend, crouching down to be closer to eye level. “Seriously, you should really get out of here. Get something to eat, get some rest. I’m taking Cassie to lunch, you should come. It might help to get out for a bit.”
"I wouldn't want to intrude.." Ace murmured, finally making eye-contact with the taller boy, "Besides, I need to fill out my paperwork..and I wanted to try and to try and-" the blonde headed teen looked around, a little stressed. Lunch did sound good right now.
“You won’t be intruding, you know that Cassie enjoys your company,” Floyd said softly. “And you seriously need to take a break, this isn’t good for you. Come on, okay? Go get a shower and clean up, then you can meet me at my place and we can go out.” He looked at Ace, a concerned glint in his eyes.
Ace let out a sigh, nodding as he got up, slowly making his way to get ready, his eyes glued to the floor. He smiled slightly to himself, glad that Floyd had invited him to go out with him and his sister. Once he got into his room he grabbed his clothes, making sure to take his time cleaning himself off.
Once he was out of the shower and dressed, he walked out of the palace, a few guards asking where he was going, and him insisting he could walk to his friends place perfectly fine. Walking through the streets he waved to the many citizens who recognized him as their ruler. Stopping once in a while to have a short conversation before continuing on his way to Floyd's home. After arriving he knocked gently on the door, a his left hand resting on the back of his neck and the other falling limply to the side after he gave the door a few knocks.
A short blonde, just an inch or two shorter than him opened the door. Cassie smiled upon seeing Ace and quickly ushered him in. “Floyd said that you will be joining us. He should be down in a moment, I think he decided to have another rematch with Nick when he got home,” she said, shaking her head slowly. “Also, I’m terribly sorry about your father. We are always here for you if you need us for anything.” Cassie patted his shoulder, smiling softly.
Floyd came rushing down the stairs, the bruise on his cheekbone a bit more prominent now. “Sorry, I’m here!” He grinned when he saw his short friend. “Ace, glad you decided to come.” He nudged Ace’s shoulder with his elbow and turned to Cassie. “Ready to go?”
“Yes! I got some money from the savings so we are good to go,” the older girl responded.
“Alright let’s go then.” Floyd held the door open for the two on their way out, and they made their way through the streets, soon arriving at a small cafe style restaurant.
(Did you accidentally repost that or something?)
@urban yeah Notebook.ai has been acting weird for me..especially the roleplay tab…whenever I try to post something I write it glitches and post's it twice…and then shuts down,.
Ace smiled at Cassie, "Thank you," he whispered when she mentioned his father, before perking up a bit when his good friend Floyd arrived. Listening to the siblings small conversation he couldn't help but feel guilty. He decided to speak up, his eyebrows furrowed.
"As a thank you for allowing me to tag along I will be paying." Ace insisted, his tone stern, almost as if it where an order, "You have both been loyal to my family for as long as I can remember, it's the least that I can do."
Ah, yeah, that’s been happening to me recently too. I just usually copy my response (just in case if it doesn’t come back after reloading it), and if it crashed then I’ll reload it and it should post.
Cassie turned her head to Ace. “Oh, are you sure?”
Floyd smiled softly at his offer. He had a feeling that Cassie was eager to accept, but she would always be to kind to admit that right away.
He went to a table and sat down, Cassie taking a seat across from him. The two smiled at each other and Floyd glanced around, noticing that they were getting a few stares from other people in the cafe.
Ace nodded, insisting that it wasn't a problem.
"So.." the king said, feeling a bit awkward, "What have you guys been up to?" He asked, rubbing his hand on the back of his neck.
“I’ve been working on fixing the radiation scanner,” Cassie said, ordering a coffee when the waiter came over.
Floyd ordered the same and a waffle. “I’ve been doing almost nothing,” he said chuckling. He smiled and shrugged, turning his head to look at Ace. “How is being king so far?”
Ace smiled at the waiter, asking for a glass of water and a salad before turning back to Floyd.
"I mean..I got to yell at a room full of old prunes who call themselves the 'Royal Council' apparently they expect their GAY king to find himself a WOMAN to marry, which is bullshit, other than that, I have a lot of paperwork to fill out." He stopped, thinking a bit, "Oh! I read this amazing book about plants and animals! There was this amazing animal called a Kangaroo, it's tail was as long as it's body, and the females would carry their children in pouches!" His eyes lit up, jumping up out of his seat, hands on the table.
He cleared his throat before sitting down, "Sorry." he apologized, smiling sheepishly.
Floyd and Cassie both laughed at his reaction to that. “But they won’t let you marry another man? That’s bullshit!” He exclaimed.
Cassie smiled knowingly at Floyd. She was easily able to read her brother, and she suspected his sexuality differences long ago.
Abana walked into the cafe. She sat down at a nearby table, having completed a prototype radiation neutraliser.
Ace chuckled, agreeing with Floyd, "I know right? I mean If there's nothing wrong with everyone else being free to decide who they marry, why can't I?" He complained, leaning his head in his hand, "If it's about the whole reproducing thing, I could always adopt one of the sweet kids down at the orphanage.."
He sighed again, he had been doing this quite often.
"Well, I don't care that they don't like the fact I'm gay! I'm going to marry a guy and they can't tell me otherwise!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air a look of determination on his face.
"I'm gay and there's nothing they can do about it!" he said, crossing his arms, a playful pout spread across his face.
Floyd laughed and nudged Ace’s knee under the table with his own. “That’s the spirit!”
The food came then, and the two thanked the waiter. Cassie sipped her coffee while Floyd dug into his own food, not realizing how hungry he was until then. “I mean, you are the king,” he said in between bites, “you get to decide all of that stuff. Why not change the law?”
While they spoke, the older girl noticed Abana and recognized her from the lab. She gave her a wave and a cheeky smile.
"Hello, Cass!" she said, happily.
Ace smiled wide at Floyd, before frowning slightly, "Well, apparently it was like a rule to get approval from the council-but, since i'm king now, I've decided that i'll grow some balls and fight against their rules." He joked, nudging Floyd back.
Ace looked over to the other girl, "She looks familiar, does she work in the palace," he asked, a brief moment of confusion spreading across his face, "I feel like I've seen her around…" he murmured, trying to remember exactly when and where.
“Yeah, you tell ‘em,” Floyd said, chuckling. He turned his head to look at the other girl.
“She works in the lab with me sometimes,” Cassie responded. “Her name is Abana, I think.”
Floyd nodded slowly and gave the girl a friendly smile. He picked up his coffee, taking a few long drinks of it. “Got anyone in mind?” He questioned in a curious way. His sister looked at him and arched a brow, but didn’t say anything.
"Huh?" Ace asked a bit confused, before a blush spread across his face, "Oh..um..y-yeah…I think.." He stuttered, struggling to get out a sentence.

"I mean, I've only met a few guys that I've ever been into.." He murmured " I haven't really thought about who I would rule with…I suppose i would be looking for someone who can handle my craziness, and someone who will listen to my rants about plants and animals from before the war…but I guess overall I just want someone who will marry me because they..love me, not because they want to use me to become part of the royal family.." He said, face bright red as he refused to make eye contact with his best friend.
