"We haven't even made it through half of them. Keep going," Blaine said as she picked up another book.
"We haven't even made it through half of them. Keep going," Blaine said as she picked up another book.
(Noooo, don’t goooo. When are you going?)
“I know, I just feel like this is useless.” Andion sighed and continued flicking through the books, taking actions glances at the body in front of them.
(I know. I'm so sad.
After tonight… 😭)
Blaine noticed his glances and frowned slightly.
"Maybe we should take these back to one of our rooms," she suggested gently. "And give him a proper burial."
(Nooo, cries)
Andion slowly nodded, “We should call someone to deal with the body and make arrangements for a funeral. I know his family would want to see him off.”
(I know. I'm, like, so upset. And it doesn't help that I have a cold – or the flu… I looked up my symptoms, and colds come on slower than mine did…)
"Yeah… What if we take a break from this and go do that?" Blaine said softly, giving Andion a worried glance.
(I don’t want you to go)
Andion sighed and nodded, “Let’s just leave the books here, we can come back and get them.”
(Turns out, I might be able to get on every once in a while.)
"All right," Blaine agreed, standing. She offered her hand to him with a sympathetic smile.
(Ooft, Yay!!!)
Andion took Blaine’s hand and squeezed it, swallowing as he led them out of the house and towards where James’ family lived.
"I'm always here if you need anything. Anything at all," Blaine whispered, leaning into his side slightly.
“I know you are, and I thank-you for that.” Andion whispered back, placing a small kiss to her head before knocking on the door they had walked up to.
An elderly women with long grey hair and a slight resemblance to James opened the door.
“Andion? What are you doing here? And who’s this?” She asked.
Blaine bit her lip nervously. How was one supposed to go about telling someone's family that someone had died?
Andion swallowed, “Uh, this is Blaine but… we have some news reguarding James.”
The woman swallowed and nodded for him to press on.
“I’m really sorry but, we just found him dead.”
Blaine cringed at the words. She expected the woman to cry or shout or something. It was never easy to lose a loved one…
The woman gasped and tears pricked in the corners of her eyes as she quickly embraced Andion, “Why? How?”
“We don’t know why, Maria but he was stabbed… and I feel it was my fault.”
Maria pulled back and frowned, “Why do you say that?”
“He was doing some research for me and I feel that was why he died.”
Blaine shook her head slowly. It wasn't his fault, but she would have to assure him of that later. Right now, they just needed to be there for the woman – who Blaine assumed was James' mother.
Maria pulled back and wiped her eyes, “I’m sorry, it wasn’t your fault, Andion. And, who might you be, dear?” She turned to Blaine.
"I'm Blaine, Blaine Woods," she answered softly, giving the woman – Maria a gentle smile. "And I'm very sorry about James."
Maria retuned the smile, “Thankyou, dear. I’ll go tell the others, you both should rest.”
“What about a funeral?”
“Andion, rest. I’ll tell you the arrangements later. Now go.”
"She's right, love. It's getting late," Blaine murmured in Andion's ear.
“Alright. See you soon Maria.” Andion gave the woman a small smile before heading off with Blaine.
"I assume that our plans for tonight are canceled?" Blaine asked, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye.
“Yeah… Sorry…” Andion muttered, keeping his gaze on the ground in front of them.
"It's okay. I don't think I'm in the mood for it, anyway," Blaine admitted softly, gently rubbing his arm to comfort him.
Andion nodded and sighed before giving Kasey a thankful smile, “Come on, let’s hurry back.” He picked up the pace as they walked back to the guild.
(You mean Blaine? Lol.)
Blaine matched her pace to his, stating by his side. "If you want to be alone tonight, I completely understand."
(Yes, Yes I do mean Blaine)
“If you wouldn’t mind, I’d like to be alone, yes. Thank-you.” Andion said quietly, opening the gates to the guild.
(Lol.)
"All right," Blaine said with a nod. "I'll see you in the morning, then?"
Andion nodded, “Yeah, see you in the morning.” He placed a kiss to her head and have her a small smile.
"Okay. Good night, Andion," Blaine said softly, giving him a quick kiss on his cheek before turning to head to her room.
