Kasey chuckled and sipped on her own water. Her leg started to hurt, so she shifted her weight so that more was on her good side.
“Is your leg okay?” Liam asked, noticing the shift in her stance.
"Yeah, it's fine. Just a little sore is all," Kasey said with a shrug.
(I just had an idea: What if the bullet was laced with some type of poison that slowly made her dizzy and lightheaded, and she eventually just, like, collapsed or something? Idk, just more drama…)
(Ooft, that sounds cool)
“Do you want to sit down?” Liam suggested, giving her a worried look.
"No, I'm fine. Really," Kasey assured him with a smile as she felt an odd pressure in the back of her mind.
Liam’s frown deepened, “No, Kasey you aren’t okay. Please, sit down.”
"Liam, I'm fine," Kasey laughed, though she did as he said. The pressure in her head shifted and changed into a light dizziness.
“You’re clearly not fine, Kasey. I can see that you’re not.” Liam followed and sat down next to her.
"Really, I'm–" Kasey cut herself off as she became dizzier, putting her head in her hands. "I'm fine…"
Liam made Kasey look him in the eye, “No, you are not. You look like you’re in pain, lots of it. Please tell me what’s wrong.”
Kasey bit her lip as she looked at him.
"I'm just really dizzy," she finally murmured. A sudden wave of lightheadedness washed over her, and she leaned forward with a groan.
Liam pulled her back gently, “Why don’t you lie down, yeah?”
Kasey nodded slowly, getting to her feet as carefully as possible. She blinked a few times, trying to get the room to stop spinning. Leaning on the table with one hand, she used to other to press on her forehead.
Liam put his arm around Kasey to help her walk to her room, worry etched all over his face. He swallowed and tried his best to help her.
Kasey leaned on Liam with a sigh. When they made it to her room, she collapsed on to her bed, not caring to be careful of her leg. She hissed in pain when it hit the bed, but groaned and buried her face in her arms.
"I don't know what's wrong with me," she murmured.
“Maybe it has something to do with the bullet wound?” Lima suggested, sitting down on the bed next to her.
"Could be," Kasey said, her voice sounding strained. "I don't know what, though."
“You said you feel dizzy, right? Do you feel anything else?” Liam already had some idea of what it could be and hoped he was wrong.
"Lightheaded," Kasey breathed, rubbing at her face with her hands.
Liam bit his lip, “Hows the pain in your leg? Worse?”
"It feels like it's being shot all over again," Kasey mumbled.
Liam’s face drained of colour, “Alright, well… do you have Harper’s number?”
Kasey nodded slowly and pointed to her phone, which sat on the nightstand beside the bed.
Liam grabbed it and used Kasey’s thumb print to unlock the phone, “I’ll be back in a minute.” He figured he could just call Harper using her phone. He stepped into the living room and after finding the contact, rung the number.
Kasey gave him a thumbs up before he left.
After a few rings, Harper picked up the phone with a, "Hello? Kasey?"
“Sorry, not Kasey but you need to get here right now Harper.” Liam’s tone said enough about how much worry he was in as he paced back and forth across the living room.
"Why? What's wrong? What happened?" Harper questioned, his voice sounding strained.
“Well, I’m not entirely sure but from the looks of things… I think the bullet Kasey was shot with was poisoned.” Liam swallowed.
Harper cursed under his breath, and the jingling if keys could be heard over the phone as he hurried to his car. "I'll be there in a few minutes."
“Okay, please hurry.” Liam hung up the phone and returned to Kasey’s room.
