Zackary took the apple with a gentle sigh, then kicked the bag to her. "Come with lots of pears. I love your guy's pears." He tossed the apple into his mouth.

(Oof sorry again. My brains really dead today.)
"We're leading an attack tomorrow." Afriel looked down at her hands. "I don't know how long it'll be." She wished she could forget the war, but it was forever something that weighed at the back of her mind.
Zackary paused in his chewing. "Right… right… good luck, I guess." He sat back down on the cave floor, wondering what he'd do for food.
"I can get you some stuff tonight, but-" Afriel cut herself off taking a moment to think. "Come back with me. I'm sure the others will understand! You'd be safer with the Angels then you are up here all alone."
Zackary stirred his wings. "They wouldn't want a Demon of my power there. It'd unsettle a lot of Angels, don't you know I'm an Infernal?"
"It shouldn't matter. You're not like the rest." Afriel didn't know why, but she was determined to convince him. "You could make you point! Its a chance to stop the war."
Zackary shook his head. "I don't think I should. Sure it's a chance to stop the war but at what cost?"
Afriel knew the cost, but she didn't want him to know. "Who cares about a cost when you have a chance to end a war that's been raging for years."
Zackary's wings fluttered uneasily. "I guess it helps I'm in my human forme, but… I don't know, it doesn't seem smart."
"Right. Yeah. I don't know what I was thinking." Afriel shook her head at herself, "I can bring you food tonight. But after that I don't know when- or if I'll be back." The cost of war, never knowing if she'd come back.
Zackary gave a slight nod, though something didn't feel right.
"I could go if you wanted me to, Afriel."
take the risk. "I won't force you. But if you will, if you want. I can bring you back to my camp, and I'll make sure nothing happens to you while you're there."
Zackary's wings stirred slightly. "Alright. If you can ensure word won't get out to the Demons, I think I'll be okay."
"Angels can be very tight lipped." Afriel joked bumping his shoulder with her own.
"Shall we go now?" She jumped to her feet and extended a hand to him, a smile lighting her face.
Zackary rose slowly, taking her hand. "Now sounds fine, I guess." He felt nervous; what if the Angels found him distrustworthy? He didn't like to think what would happen, yet Afriel ensured his safety.
"Alright. So I'm guessing you'll need help? Because flying is out of the question for you?" Afriel wasn't sure she'd be able to carry him the whole way, but she would try if she had to.
Zackary sighed. "No, I'll be able to fly, but not for very long. I think I'll make it there, though." He shook his wings out.
"Right lets go then." Afriel scooped her bag from the ground and beat her wings to lift herself from the ground. Leading Wings back. The flight wasn't necacerly short, so she decided to make conversation. "You said Wings was your demon name? Does that mean you have another name?"
Zackary took a running start out of the cave and shot out, carefully stretching out his long wings. They were huge, it took a lot more to get him up in the air because of that. He flapped his wings to catch up to her, smoothly gliding forward.
"Yes, my Demon name is Wings. I do have another name," Zackary answered ambiguously.
"Uh-huh. And what is it? I don't think calling you by your demon name would be a good idea." Afriel slowed down a bit as to not tire him, or herself out.
Zackary's eyes jolted away. Should I tell her? It's a rather biblical name, she might laugh.
"Hmmm, if you'd like to know. It's Zackary."
Afriel almost pulled to a halt to look at him. "Zackary?" She asked in disbelief, "your name is Zackary?"
Zackary came to a slight pause too. "Yes, it is." He steeled himself for her laughter.
"And how exactly are you a demon?" Afriel narrowed her eyes to look at him as they flew. The camp growing closer.
"I made a contract. It turns out I was already half-Demon, so it made me a lot stronger than what I would've been in a contract, so I became an Infernal since Satan wanted to keep an eye on me."
"I see he's doing a wonderful job of that." Afriel joked. "Let me guess he's blind?" She raised and eye brow and let out a small laugh.
Zackary gave a slight laugh. "I guess he's not, huh?"
"Thankfuly." The camp came into view and Afriel singled for them to land. She didn't want Zackary to get shot down.
Zackary’s wings were shaking slightly at the joints as he gazed around wearily. He didn’t like having his huge black wings out in the open like this. They were like a shining beacon in the sky.
"Just, don't look shady?" Afriel offered a small smile. lets hope for the best.
They entered the camp and gazes imidently shot past Afriel to Zackary. Wispers braking out. "General, is that a demon?" Afriel shook her head yes and continued to walk through the camp. get to the tents. Explain. it was plain and simple, but not easy.
