North glanced over at him. “Look I finished.”
North glanced over at him. “Look I finished.”
M looked over the plate. “Congratulations, you finished your lunch.”
“It is a good thing. I almost never do.”
M rolled his eyes. “I guess we’ll chamge that then.”
“Probably not.” She shrugged.
“It’s quite easy to change someone's eating habits, you know,” M pointed out.
“I’ve been like this practically my whole life M, you can’t just change that.”
“Humans are very adaptable, North. That’s one of the first things they tell you in school.”
“What school did you go to?” She laughed.
“I went to a little private school near the orphanage I grew up in.” M answered surprisingly truthfully.
“You had the money to go to private school?”
“I was an orphan. I didn’t pay.”
“That’s nice. Is that why you’re so smart?”
“No. I’m also a Mind Reader. I pick up tidbits of smarts too.”
"Doesn't mean you know what's best for me." She replied, leaning back in her chair.
M rolled his eyes and ignored the stupid comment. He stayed in his silence, a blunt sign that she was wrong.
"Okay. I should eat like a normal person but.." She sighed. "I mean that's a lot of work. It's a waste of time, eating that much."
“It’s not a waste of time, taking care of youself. You should eat more, you’re as skinny as a pole.”
"No, eating is a waste of time. It's disgusting, eating so much. Don't know how you do it."
“Eating is healthy and it helps you gain weight and energy depending on your diet. You don’t have a balanced diet, therefore when I die you’ll be… well, you’ll be something.”
"I'll be fine. Tyler can help me." She said quietly, disliking the idea of M dying.
M hummed gently, turning a page of his book. “Sure sure he can. But you’ve pushed him away hitherto.”
“No I haven’t.” She said defensively, frowning a little.
“Yes you have.” M grinned.
Just as she opened her mouth to say something, Tyler walked into the kitchen. North looked up at him. “I love you!” She declared loudly, getting a slight frown but smile from Tyler. “Love you too..are you okay, did M do something to you?”
M laughed at Tyler's response. “Exactly what I mean!”
North looked from Tyler to M and whimpered a little. “Why don’t you believe me?” She asked, her voice higher than normal. Tyler looked down at her. “I believe you, it was just unexpected that’s all.”
M disappeared behind his book again. He was very correct, but now he felt bad.
“Oh..ok..” She sulked a bit as Tyler got something to eat. “Thanks for making her eat M.” He said, glancing at her empty plate.
M gave him a silent thumbs up. In M’s humble opinion, he thought Tyler just trying to defuse the problem tactless.
