(Heh, no, but a lot of logic would be sent out to play.)
(Heh, no, but a lot of logic would be sent out to play.)
(Does that mean She can? Again, as I've said it many times now, pardon my stupidity.)
(Yes, she can.)
(Alrighty. Again, sorry.)
Afriel pulled up just as the ground came in sight. For a second she just stayed there. Her wings flapping to keep her level. Afriel shook her head at herself and shot back into the sky coming back to the cave.
Zackary waited for the sap to dry then put his shirt down carefully. He put the little container back just as Afriel came into eyesight of the cave.
"Hey uh-" Suddenly Afriel felt stupid for coming back. "I um…forgot something."
Zackary glanced over. “Forgot something? You didn’t have anything when we came here!”
"I mean I forgot to-" Afriel searched for what to say, "to tell you something." She landed on the lip in the cave entry folding her wings neatly on her back. "If you uh, ever need help with something, I'm willing to be that help. As a way to pay you back."
Zackary shrugged. “No problem. You don’t have to pay me back.”
"Then think of it as a favor." Afriel took a step back to leave again. "Uh sorry for coming back." She mumbled before once again dropping from the cliff.
Zackary shrugged again. Come back whenever. The Gods know how long I’ll be in here…
Afriel arrived back at camp seeing everyone rushing around. "Afriel!" Someone shouted. She landed making dust fly, "General Afriel where have you been?" The voice sounded angry. "I was wounded." She responded her tone dry, giving nothing away. They briefed her on all that'd happened over the past few days and already she was slipping back into her role. But something pulled at the back of her mind. Something that wanted to drawl her back to the cave.
Zackary laid down carefully so that he was gazing out of the cave. The stars glittered far above the rather dense clouds. He loved the stars, he loved everything about space.
Afriel miled around the camp for a bit, paper work starting to stack up. Straiges needing reviews, and it started to stress her out. "Hey I think imma go somewhere quiet for awhile." No one protested. Even before she'd met Wings shed always go off to review everything away from tge noise and stress. But now she had some where new she could go. The cave. Even in the late hours, even if it'd be cold. She still wanted to go back.
Zackary wrapped his arms around his legs and his huge wings splayed out behind him. The cold tickled his skin, making him feel human; the way he could identify the constellations sparkled in the sky made him feel smart and pride, rather than disconnectedness. He enjoyed his humanity, especially with stuff that he loved.
Afriel used a pack for some fruit the paper work and a blanket, and with that she was flying back. The wind blowing her long dark hair behind her. The wind feeling good agents her face. Leaving the cave it'd felt like thousands of needles. Heading back it felt like a cold welcome. One that she embraced. For the long fly back her thoughts kept her occupied only leaving once she'd arrived. "Ack your still here."
Zackary looked up. "Yep, still here. What's up?" He let his legs go and stretched them out.
"Well not much. Just wanted somewhere quiet to work for a bit. Ya' know, paper work and stuff." Afriel landed welcoming the rest for her wings. The narrow flight up was a strain.
Zackary glanced at the basket. "Doesn't look like paperwork. More like your lunch." He grinned a little. "You don't happen to have a little extra?"
"In fact I do." I had hopped you would be here still. Afriels own thoughts caught her off guard, but she quickly shook them, and sat next to Wings. "If you like fruit that is." She joked handing him the bag after she'd pulled her paper work out.
Zackary's wings shivered happily as he opened up the basket and opened it. "Mmm I haven't had fresh fruit in ages." He held up an apple and took it in one bite.
"Gosh." Afriel laughed slightly, "well in heaven there's far to much fruit. It can drive a person crazy." She joked while skimming through one of the papers making a face at it.
Zackary picked up a pear and demolished it. "Mmm… I love pears… do you have any more in here?" He rummaged around in the bag.
"Well no. I wasn't expecting a hungry demon to be here still. But help yourself to the rest. I'm not really hungry." Her voice lacked its normal tone, sounding distant. Making her seem as if she wasn't all there. That a part of her was simply lost at the moment.
Zackary glanced up at her. He took a tangerine and threw it at her. "Eat. Feel better. Let go of the work for a while."
Afriel jumped forgetting where she'd been for a split second, "was that revenge for me throwing pebbles at you?"
"No. Eat the tangerine." Zackary pointed to it. "Eaaat it. Eaaat the tangerinnnneee."
"Okay okay." Afriel picked the tangerine up dusting it off a bit and took a bite, "happy?"
Zackary scoffed loudly. "yOu dOn"t pEEl yOur TanGerInEs??"
(I Litarlly have no idea what a tangerine is. I am an uneducated fruit writer. xD)
Afriel laughed slightly, "of course not. Do you?"
