Hollinger, I met an amazing guy today. His name is Gordon Mote. He is a blind piano player, and songwriter.
(silently walks out oblivious to everyone else)
Why you walk out?
My thing is, you would have never guessed that he was blind by the way he played the piano…
who?
Gordon Mote. He's really good. I was surprised, like really surprised.
I am the same and I don’t have any issues
but I’ve been playing daily for the past 11 years
I know. He just made jokes about how he was always blind ( he was on a cruise, and a tour guide asked how everyone enjoyed the scenery, and he was like you know, I hated it. It was so dark! The tour guide hadn't caught on that he was blind, and he apologized, but Mr. Mote said oh you're fine. It's just that the entire world is black because i'm blind… and that's how a tour guide in the caribbean died… XD)
Then Gordon wanted to show off, and he played the piano backwards, and did 64th note runs. (That man must be a note god, because I've never seen anyone play 64th notes without an error…)
but I’ve been playing daily for the past 11 years
I've only been playing for about a year now… (But, I'm self taught… so that's a little bit of a learning curve… Trial and error are great teachers… XD)
lol
i’m self-taught also
TRIAL AND ERROR…. And throwing various objects is how I learn…. (Just don't ask about throwing things…….)
i play all by ear
