Met gave Jason a nervous look, hunching down slightly so his head couldn’t be seen over the cars. Soon the pair made it to Jason’s old car.
Met gave Jason a nervous look, hunching down slightly so his head couldn’t be seen over the cars. Soon the pair made it to Jason’s old car.
Jason opens the car for Met, handing him the food before hurrying towards the drivers seat and pulling out. He tried not to look panicked.
Met took the food, ducked into the car and buckled in. As Jason pulled out Met tapped Jason’s thigh. He’d gotten an idea.
“Seth’s. My place. Not yours.” His words were spoken in quick succession.
"Okay, baby. What's the address?" He says softly, eyes on the road.
Met rambled off the address and instructions as to how to get there, nervously looking out the back. He tugged out his phone, yet hesitated. Should I alert them now?
Jason nods, driving as fast as legally possible. He takes a deep breath, trying to calm down.
Met tapped his foot. They'd want to know! He unconsciously left his hand on Jason's thigh.
Jason didn't mind Met having his hand on his thigh. He takes a breath, trying to remain calm.
Met looked at Jason, suddenly. "Should I tell Seth and Zackary that we're coming?"
"Yeah. That would be wise." He replies, smiling at the other.
Met took his hand off of Jason's thigh and quickly texted Seth and Zackary details of their reason for coming. He awaited their reply nervously.
Come home as quickly as possible. It'll be okay met. Seth texted back.
Seconded. We'll cover it. Don't worry, Met, Was Zackary's slightly ambiguous reply.
Met sighed and relaxed back into the seat. "Zackary and Seth say to come home as soon as possible."
He nods. "Alright. We're almost there. Where do I turn?"
Met rubbed his nose, making the tip somewhat red. "Just… go straight. It's straight up a hill, then a slight left from the stop sign, onto a path, you follow that for 1.3 miles then the cottage will peer over."
"Got it." He replies, following Met's instructions.
Indeed, after that slight pause and left, they veered off of the road.
"Hopefully we've just thrown them off…" Met looked over the back. After all, the path was very dense and hidden. It lead Met to wonder why Zackary decided to have a cottage all the way out in the middle of a forest…
Soon the pair arrived at Seth and Zackary's cottage.
"Yeah…" Jason replies, before getting out of the car and opening the door for Met. Seth was rushing out the doors. "C'mon. Quickly. Inside." he says, beckoning them into the home. Jason does as told.
Met unfolded himself from the car, glancing up at Seth gladly before shutting the door and rushing inside.
Zackary stood like a shadow at the window, slightly stooped to make up for his height. He glanced over at the pair of young adults, nodding slightly in a greeting, his hair covering a good portion of his face, considering the streaks of gray from his eye.
Jason nods as he enters the house before looking around. This is a really nice home. Seth shuts the door locking it and looks down at Jace. "Go get your brother, and make sure he's okay, alright?" He says.
Jace blinked innocently up at Seth. “Okay!” He squeaked this and thumped cutely up the steps.
Met droned over to the couch but instead of sitting, he nervously stood over it.
Zackary took no notice of the movements inside the house, but rather watched for some outside. Aware of every movement of a leaf, skitter of a rodent, turn of a rock… full Demonship had its perks, afterall…
Jason watches Jace go before walking over to Met and gently hugging him, trying to assure the other that it was going to be okay.
Met hugged Jason back and curled his head into the other’s shoulder, shutting his eyes.
Zackary stirred after a few moments, shutting the curtain with a flourish.
“They’re tracking them,” Zackary appointed Seth, walking over lankily, “just as I thought.”
Seth growls lowly. "Do we know what they are?" He asks, taking Zackary's hand. Jason holds the other protectively, feeling fear lace through his chest. What was tracking them exactly? He takes a slow breath, holding Met in a tight but assuring hold.
"JACE! NEO! DOWNSTAIRS PLEASE!" Seth calls, taking a breath.
“Probably Sirens. Those assholes are disgusting enough to do something like this…” Zackary responded in his husky voice, glancing at the door.
Met curled his head into Jason’s shoulder, shaking. When Seth suddenly shouted the pallid Met jumped.
A few moments passed in silence. Zackary made a twitching motion and looked up at the stairs, waiting for a response. There was no response from either the elder or the younger.
Seth's breath hitches. "Zackary… go check on them… I'll stay with Met and Jason." He says.
Jason holds Met, hushing him gently. "It's okay. It's okay."
Zackary swept away from Seth, not out of the want to be rude, for the want to check on his sons. He crossed the room, strided up the stairs in quick succession and turned into the hallway. He didn’t call out for either of them, he just stayed quiet. He checked in Neo’s room, where he was sitting listening to music with little Jace on his lap. He and Jace were clapping along with the song.
“Seth wants you two downstairs,” Zackary grumbled softly as he presented himself. Neo rose immediately, knowing the situation (Seth and Zackary told him), grabbing little Jace’s hand.
Seth looks at the boys before walking swiftly around the house, locking everything, shutting windows and making sure everything was secure before returning to the living rooms. Jason held, kissing his forehead, running an assuring hand down his back and whispering gentle nothings into his ears.
Jace looked up at Neo, his wide gray eyes wider than usual. “Neo, what’s happening? Why does Daddy look so serious?”
Neo put a hand on little Jace’s head. “Don’t worry, Jace. It’s just something outside. Let’s go downstairs, now, okay?”
Jace nodded and allowed himself to be led downstairs along with Neo and Zackary. Zackary gestured for the four to sit as he looked up.
“Seth!” He called the other’s name urgently, making sure he was okay.
"Here!" Seth replies. "I have the boys. You have Jace and Met?" He calls. He brushes his black hair from his face and takes a deep breath. "Are you boys okay?" He asks gently, checking over Met and Jason.
