Matt laughed, "You know why, didn't you see the news article? If you want you secret identity to remain a secret you're going to have to kill me, Kinesie. If not well… then everyone will know."

@ElderGod-Carrots

"See that's your weakness. What most supers weakness is. They don't want to kill. Sorry, that's just how the world works these days. People die, get over it." Matt spat.

Kinesie's fingers twitched as she glared at Matt, silently assessing him.

"Just because the world says it's okay, doesn't mean that it is," she argued calmly. Her voice most certainly didn't match how she felt inside. How was she going to end this?

Objects floated up behind Matt as Kinesie had an idea.

"Death is a part of life, so no, I'm not saying that it isn't okay. Murder on the other hand, is different. That is not okay," she declared, her fingers twitching more and more until she just balled her hand into a fist.

Kasey's eyes widened momentarily as she barely stopped the bullet from hitting her. She let it drop to the ground as she glared at Matt. Pieces of stone and pebbles and other small, miscellaneous items continued to draw closer to him.

"The difference is that one is natural, while the other is purposefully done by someone," she spat.

"Because you don't get to have a say in when people die and when they don't!" Kinesie exclaimed, tossing the bullet out if the way like it was nothing this time. She added it to the mass that still swirled around her feet, and she made the objects behind Matt rise up to hover over him.

"It's worth it, though. Even if no one notices, it's still worth it," Kinesie declared vehemently. The mass hovering above Matt split and wrapped around him like a boa constrictor, holding him in place and effectively keeping his arms at his sides.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Matt struggled and managed to fire the gun out of the mass, trying to break free of it's grasp, "You're still going to have to kill me, you know that right?"

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Kinesie, not expecting him to be able to shoot through the mass holding him, hissed as the bullet tore through her left leg. She tightened her hold on him, letting the mass completely wrap around him from his neck down.

"Not if I can help it," she said through a pained grimace.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Matt smirked, "Didn't expect you to get shot, did you? As long as I'm alive then you identity remains as risk. Same with that boyfriend of yours, you'd be better off killing him too so he doesn't let the secret slip."

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Are you sure he wouldn't? Be honest Kinesie, do you really trust him?" He asked, shooting out again and kicking the hole with his knee as best he could.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

This hot barely missed her this time, which she was thankful for.

"Of course I trust him!" Kinesie shouted, quickly covering the hole with more debris. Even as she said it, though, she could feel the unpleasant thoughts worming their way into her mind. She frowned and covered Matt's mouth, wrapping it around him tightly.

"If I could get some backup over here, that would be really great!" she called over her shoulder to the police officers who lined the crowd.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Matt struggled against the debris but eventually stopped. He could sense his words had gotten into Kasey's head and as long as she didn't trust Liam… his work was done.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Kinesie glared at Matt when he stopped struggling, wary of what he was doing.

Police officers hurried over to help, each wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying a gun. If he tried anything, they wouldn't hesitate to shoot him. Unlike Kasey.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Matt raised his eyebrow at Kasey once and it looked like he was smiling even though his mouth was covered. He didn't quite care what happened next, as long as she doubted the people she was close to then that was all that mattered.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

An officer shot Matt from behind with a taser, and Kinisie dropped the restraints on him. Other officers joined the first and helped to restrain him.

"You're going to jail, Matt. And I didn't even have to kill you," Kasey said with a forced smirk.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Liam who had been watching everything from the news report, sat back on the couch and rubbed at his face. He had seen the look on Kasey's face when Matt mentioned the thing about trust regarding him. Although she'd done her best to hide it, he had noticed. He sighed and turned the TV to something else.

Kasey took a deep breath and watched as the shoved Matt in a cop car. When they had finally driven away, she let out a shuddering breath and left the scene. She just wanted to go home.

About ten minutes later, she walked into her apartment, now wearing her regular clothes again, and gently shut the door behind her. She made her way to her bedroom, collapsed into her bed, and curled into a ball of stress and tears.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Liam turned the TV off and even though he new Kasey would be resting, sent her a text anyway.

LIAM: Hey, I saw what happened. You did good. Rest up, heal and relax. I love you - Liam

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Kasey pulled her phone out of her pocket with a grunt. She saw Liam's text and smiled before remembering what Matt had said. With a sigh, she shook her head, clearing it of the thought.

KASEY: Thanks. I'll be okay. Though I don't know what I'll do about my leg…

@ElderGod-Carrots

LIAM: You go to the doctors and say you got into a street fight or something.

Liam sighed a little and walked to his bedroom where Mortem was sleeping happily and he quickly sat down next to his cat before lying back too.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

KASEY: Yeah, they'll definitely believe that. Especially if they just saw Kinesie get shot in the exact same place.

Kasey sighed and propped her leg up on a pillow. She should really do something to stop the bleeding, but she just didn't have the energy. And Harper still wasn't back. And she was very lightheaded again.
