Ezra felt the weight on the couch shift and turned to see a girl standing up. Entranced, Ezra stood and followed her. "Hi there." He said, keeping his head down so not to intimidate her.

Alita turned around and said "hi" back to the guy, wondering why he kept his head down.

Ezra looked up when he felt the time was right. "I'm looking for some new friends." He said, with a genuine expression of loneliness on his face. "I don't like parties that much but I DO like having friends so… here I am."

Aita nodded and said "i've never been to a college party so i don't know what to do… by the way," she stuck out her hand and said "i'm Alita."

Ezra shook her hand. At that moment he realized how cute she was and blushed fiercely. "Ezra. Nice to meet you Alita."

Alita wondered why Ezra was blushing but didn't say anything and instead said "Nice to meet you too, have you ever been to a party like this because i really don't know what to do." as she said this she noticed his eyes, chocolate brown and super kind looking, and she blushed back,embarrassed now.

"If you want we can just hang out…? I'm kind of at a loss of what to do as well." He tried to play it cool as he had kind of accidentally asked her out. He hoped she would think he was just being friendly but deep inside he hoped she would think he was asking her out. Ezra was generally confused by his feelings that night.

Alita answered "sure, what do you want to do?" she was still blushing and was noticing more little details every time she looked at him i have a crush on a guy i just met she thought to herself.

"Anything really." He smiled kindly at her.

"ummm…. we could stay here or go on a walk… or something.." Alita said rocking back and forth on her feet because she was nervous and smiled back at Ezra trying to look more confident than she felt.

"A walk sounds refreshing." He ate a couple cheezits and turned to head out the door. "Let's do this."

"Sounds good." Alita grabbed a handful of doritos on the way out and followed Ezra down the street, eating chips

"So, what do you like to do, Alita?" He asked, admiring the night sky.

Alita thought for a moment then said "i like to read a lot and go on trail runs, what about you Ezra?" She looked at him and ended up staring for a little bit, blushing she looked away.

Ezra felt her stare for a second and blushed as well. "Yeah, I like reading and most of the arts. Especially music."

Alita looked at the sky and said "i used to play the flute, i was pretty good too, but i ended up just stopping because i didn't have any time." she tried to avoid looking at him so she did not end up staring at him anymore but ended up looking one more time.

Ezra looked at her and stopped walking. "Wait really? I play the flute! It's one of my favorite things." He beamed.

She stopped and grinned back "That's awesome! that'd be cool to hear you play sometime." Alita looked up at him and seeing that a star was right above his head she grinned even more.

They stood like that smiling for a second then Ezra suggested, "If you want we could head back to my place and I could play my flute for you." He looked at the stars above them then back at Alita

Alita blushed and said "sure, that sounds fun." she smiled nervously because she had never been invited to a guy's house/dorm before She added quickly "i'd have to find a place to put my bike, i biked here, but that's not a problem i'll find somewhere."

Ezra thought for a minute then said, "It'll probably fit in my car. We'll have to be creative but I bet we can do it. Then it's just a 5 minute drive to my dorm from here."

"ok." Alita said and started heading back the way they had come, waiting for Ezra so she knew where his car was.

Ezra followed close behind her.

when they finally got back to the party, Alita unlocked her bike and waited for Ezra to show her which car to put it in, as she waited she started humming under her breath.

Ezra walked her out to the car and put it in the trunk then opened the passenger side for her. "After you, M'lady."

"thank you sir," Alita said in a very bad and thick British accent and hopped in.

Ezra laughed and ran around the front of the car and hopped in. He turned on the radio to an upbeat throwback station and opened the sunroof. Then he began driving back to the dorm.

Alita giggled and started singing along to the song and dancing in her seat. She noticed that she was having more fun singing in Ezra's car than she would have had all night at the party.

Ezra grinned and joined her, the refreshing wind blowing in through the sun roof.

Alita sang through the whole car ride, thankful for the fresh air and loud music, and when they finally got there she was out of breath and super happy.
