Afriel was confused by this demon but nonetheless she did as he said. She'd heard of demons who had two sides, but never truly met one. The throbbing in her wing pulled her from her thoughts, a long spear deeply embedded with in the feathers and flesh of her wing.

Zackary looked around, took her in his arms and flew off above the fight, jetting towards home. He shifted his grip on the Angel, slowly falling out of his black Demon form.

@Dirt

Afriel pulled in a sharp breath shocked that the demon was trying to help her. Agenst her better judgement she felt herself wrap arms around him thinking he'd drop her from that hight knowing she couldn't fly at the moment. "Why are you helping me?" She asked slightly unsure and still believing he may drop her.

Zackary landed on a small surface away from the fighting a few minutes later. Only then did he answer her question.
“I don’t know. But…” He shook his head, his curly light-brown hair shining through his sleek black.

@Dirt

Afriel noticed he'd taken her away from the war. I am going to die, this is how it ends. she thought squeezing her eyes shut. Demons don't help angels. Its an unwritten law we all understand. she waited for a finishing blow for what felt like hours, but was only a few short breaths. "A-are you going to kill me?" She asked, her voice low and shaky.

Deleted user

“No.” Zackary sat her down and carefully twisted the spear out of her wing. He knew how these spears worked, in fact he’d designed them. He tossed it aside and set his hands on the wound.

@Dirt

Afriel's face pinched in pain when he removed the spear. "Thank you." but why help me? Of all those on the field? She didn't voice her thoughts out loud. "So. You're a Demon?" She seemed to spit the last word out as if it where Poision. But imidently wished she didn't, after all he had helpped her.

Wings rose, the fluffy brown being replaced upon her malice. “Yes, I am.” He held his wings about him, where they shivered threateningly and made him look larger.

@Dirt

Afriel shrunk back enclosing herself in good wing, "sorry." She mumbled. This, demon seemed different to her. Nothing like the ones that'd have taken the opportunity to kill her. She was a well know General who'd killed many demons in her years. So the kindness of this one. It truly baffled her. "Why?" She asked referring to why'd he helped her.

Wings snorted rudely. “Why I’m a Demon? Also, speak up, Angel.” His wings shivered angrily again. He shifted his weight to the otner foot nervously; what if someone found them up here?

@Dirt

"No. Why help me? You could have killed me." Afriel held her ground not wanting to shrink back any farther. She noted his nervous shifting. Was he waiting for someone?

An odd screech rang through the air; The Demons won the battle.
"We have to get out of here." Wings scooped her up, supporting her weight, then swung off of the patch of land haphazardly into the air.

@Dirt

They'd won. Afriel should have been there. Her fighters- they where all most likely dead. She was startled by Wings scooping her up again and her instinct was to wrap her arms around him in her moment of panic. "Where are you taking me?" She half demanded, her voice shaking partly.

"Don't worry. They're going to sweep the area to make sure ever Angel is dead. I need to hide you before they find you. Do you know any good hiding spots?" Wings flapped his large wings as he shot through the air.

@Dirt

"I- no I don't spend my time in Heaven." Afriel never really had. Not till the war started, And even then she was always out fighting. Always planning. She never let her mind wonder, it was a weakness, To think of her fallen friends.

Wings scanned the area and let himself go limp. They started plummeting. Wings didn't freak out, though, instead, he scanned the area for spots, deciding there weren't any.

@Dirt

Afriel clung to him squeezing her eyes shut. its a trick. He's going to kill me. if he didn't how would she explain that she was the only one to survive? oh a demon saved me and let everyone else die. she was tempted to laugh at herself even whilst falling threw the air, holding tight to a demon Of all things.

Wings found a spot. How the hell am I going to get up there? As they fell, his wings beat to catch them, and he straightened up the best he could with her weight. He fought the air resistance over to the spot, his wings flapping angrily behind him, fighting them up to the spot. He deposited her into the small cave of which he noticed, dangling out of it himself, his feet pointed to the Earth, which was thousands of feet below them.
"Help!" He choked out to her, reaching out, his wings trying and failing to get him up to safety.

@Dirt

Afriel shot out a hand to grab his pulling him up to the ledge. "That. Was stupid." She sighed laughing slightly. "You still haven't answered my question though. Why did you help me?" She narrowed her eyes at him honestly ready to jump up and dart to the ledge.

Wings climbed up to level, panting to catch his breath. He raised a finger at her questions, coughing at the physical strain of gravity and air force.
"I…I don't know why I saved you." He shook his head. "That sounds so stupid, but… you're a General, right? I want to stop this war! We need to stop this war! Demons and Angels are brothers and sisters in a sense… we shouldn't be fighting…"

@Dirt

"Tell that to your king. He's the one that waged war on us." Afriel softened her gaze, "but it is true. This war is stupid and has been going on for far to long." That still changed nothing, no one would listion to a demon that wanted a war to end. Not would they listion to her. Even if she was a General.

Wings flapped his wings agitatedly. "I've tried, and I'm his Infernal. It doesn't work, I almost got condemned from Hell for suggesting it. I just want this to end… The Demons just enjoy the gore, death and… fr-free slaves that come with it." He shook himself out.

@Dirt

Slaves. "You mean they take prisoners?" Afriel cocked her head to the side. Heaven didn't. They killed them. It was a mercy in her opinion. Being freed and sent back to earth for a second chance.

Wings let out a faint cry in shame and horror. He slumped down onto the ground, his black form melting away, making him seem he was falling apart or melting away.
He didn't answer her question, otherwise.

@Dirt

"Are you alright?" Afriel asked her voice finally being its normal self. "Look um- if you got hurt saving me. I'm sorry." She paused to think, "or if I said something." She fiddled with a rock somehow feeling like she'd done something horribly wrong.

Zackary raised his hands, gazing at the pale skin under the black. His huge wings disappeared.
"No… I'm okay." His voice was hoarse and rather high-pitched for a male. Otherwise his features were sharp and handsome, almost unnaturally.

@Dirt

Afriel pulled her knees to her chest, "how long do we have to stay up here?" She asked looking up at him. She hadn't noticed how he changed till that moment, her cheeks becoming a pink that looked strange on her pale skin.

Zackary rose onto all fours shakily, his light-brown hair covering his face. "I-I don't know. A couple days, at least."

@Dirt

"A couple days?" Afriel narrowed her eyes again. "How do I know you're not truly planning something?" She raised and eye brow still unsure if she should trust him or not.

Deleted user

Zackary wanted his wings to pop back out so he could curl up in them and sleep. He flopped back down on the cold stone of the cave.
"Why… why would I be planning something?" He asked his tired and weakly.
