“What makes you say that?” Justin puts one hand up to his hair, scratching behind his ear. If Marcos found out, which he jut did, things were going to get a lot worse. Justin really wished he had stopped running when he saw Marcos.
“What makes you say that?” Justin puts one hand up to his hair, scratching behind his ear. If Marcos found out, which he jut did, things were going to get a lot worse. Justin really wished he had stopped running when he saw Marcos.
Marcos took a step back, trying to wipe at his tears, “You- You- You kissed me back there, Justin! And you were running like that!” More tears fell out of his eyes, and he took another step away from Justin. He didn’t even know what to say.
Justin’s deer froze where they were. “I-I can explain. I was going to tell you once we moved into the house, but then I got suspicions of you bring Polaris.” The words were having trouble coming out of his mouth. Justin kept pausing and restarting his sentence. “I knew if you were Polaris we couldn’t be fully us if I was Hann.” Justin knew that wasn’t going to be enough to fix what they had.
Marcos turned away from him, crying harder but he hoped Justin wouldn’t see. “Well- Well you were- you were right,” Marcos said queitly, trying to stop his sobs, “I’m- I’m sorry I’m Polaris, I just couldn’t find another way,” I already told him all this when he was Hann. “Like I said, you can have the apartment, I’ll just- I’ll just get out of you l-life.” He made a move to leave.
Justin quickly grabbed Marcos’ wrist. “Don’t leave. I need you.” He was crying at this point, trying to annunciate his words. “If one of us must leave I’ll leave. You take the apartment. I can survive without it, I don’t know that you can.”
“I can’t even afford to pay rent anymore, much less take care of Kolu too,” Marcos pulled out the remained cash he had -a few dollars- and showed it to Justin, “This is all I have left, I spent my bike-“ Marcos choked up again, looking away as if to hide himself, “I spent my bike savings on the cab ride here. You take the apartment, I can just- just- just go out on the streets.” He sobbed out, covering his face so Justin wouldn’t see. He just wanted to be held again, he wanted to erase everything he did.
“But I want to be with you. Why cant we stay together?” Justin sounded hopeful, like the entire world could be fixed with the simple words and I’m sorry. “I’m sorry this happened. I want to fix it but I don’t know how. All I know is to say I’m sorry.”
“But- But-“ Marcos choked on his own words, but finally got them out, “Why were you so mad with me for lying to you when you were lying to me?” He curled his arms around himself, tears pouring a little bit more with every breath.
“I never lied about what I was doing. I just never told you what I was doing because you never asked.” Justin was at the point where he just wanted time to freeze and go back a day. Just one day.
Marcos looked at Justin with tear filled eyes, “Justin-“ He couldn’t hold in his sob, taking a few unsure steps away. A branch snapped on accident from a nearby tree, being thrown to the ground splintered. Marcos had always been complete control of his powers when he was calm or on a rampage, but ever since this- He was too upset to control his telekinesis.
Justin flinched a little at the branch snapping, knowing it was going to happen eventually with Marcos’ powers. “Please…” He took a step forward toward Marcos. “I need you… don’t go…”
“You- You- You need me?!” He looked at Justin with pained, hurt eyes, “Justin, I-“ Marcos choked up, a loud pained sob came out of him. He wasn’t angry, he just felt… betrayed. And empty.
Justin nodded harshly, his face stained with tears. “Duh I need you…” He choked out with more tears coming out of his eyes. “I’ve gone out of my way- so many times just to save you…”
Marcos reached out a pained hand. He needed him, Marcos needed Justin. But gosh- “J-Justin I-I-I love y-you,” Marcos felt so alone and empty and broken. He wanted Justin to hold him again, he wanted to start over. Marcos wanted Justin.
Justin grabbed Marcos’ hand. “I love you t-too….” Justin was glad that Marcos had reached out. It showed signs that he did want Justin back. “Will you please stay at the apartment…?”
Marcos immediately flung himself onto Justin, crying heavily on his shoulder, “J-J-Justin, Justin, J-Justin,” He sobbed out, curling in on himself. “J-Justin-“ Marcos couldn’t form words anymore, only try to hold onto Justin and cry.
Justin wrapped his arms around Marcos. “Let’s go back to the apartment.” He picked up Marcos and placed him on his hip. Like if he were a toddler.
“Justin, we need to talk before we go back.” Marcos said, furiously trying to wipe away his tears. He pulled away, only slightly, to ground his feet. I can’t go back to the apartment. Not now. Not like this. Not when they could easily just get into another argument.
Justin set him back down. “Can we at not talk in the middle of nowhere.” Justin wiped away a tear. He knew he was trying too hard with getting things to go back to the way they were before. Even if their fight was short it would still take a long time to get back to the way they were. They would have to relearn how to trust.
“I don’t want to go back with you like this,” Marcos whispered, then buried his head in Justin’s shoulder, “We’re broken…” I’m broken. “Why didn’t you tell me you were Hann sooner?”
Justin grabbed both of Marcos hands. “But we’re not broken. We have this unbreakable love. Sure we may not be in agreement at the moment but it’s surly fixable.” Justin has hope in his eyes. “I was going to tell you, I was right about to but then I got my suspicions…”
“Are you still mad about-“ Marcos didn’t want to say it again, in fact, he just wanted to shut that corner far far away from him. He didn’t want to face it, he didn’t want to think back on how many times when he selfishly fought Hann and it had been Justin. I’m a terrible person…
“I was never mad about that. I was just confused of how I could be tricked so easily…” Justin waited to see how Marcos would react.
“You’re lying,” Marcos insisted, pressing his face into Justin’s neck with tears dripping out of his eyes. He wrapped his arms around Justin, seeking comfort he didn’t deserve. “I hurt people, I hurt you.”
“That doesn’t mean I’m mad at you. I may be frustrated with you.” Justin wrapped his arms around Marcos, trying to soothe him. “Let’s go back to the apartment and figure this out?”
“I-“ I’d like that- “What I told Hann- you was true. The apartment is yours now, Justin, and if you don’t want me there, I-“ Marcos bit his lip to keep from outright sobbing again, “S-Sorry I’m- I’m such a -hic- crybaby.”
Justin hugged Marcos tighter. “Of coarse I want you there…” Justin started crying harder. “I don’t think I could survive if you left me… I want to move in to that house with you.” Justin held Marcos’ head against his chest, rubbing his hair with his hand.
“I want to too,” Marcos started sobbing, clinging to Justin’s shirt. “Can we just- Can we just- just- just-“ Marcos whimpered, but finally got out, “Go back?” Go back to before this all happened. He felt pathetic, standing here crying. He felt like he wasn’t good enough.
Justin played with Marcos’ hair, moving it out of his eyes. “Then let’s go back.” Justin looked down at Marcos. “Can I carry you back?”
Marcos hesitantly nodded, a bit of shame on himself because he didn’t deserve to be forgiven. He wrapped his arms around Justin, burying his head in his shoulder, “Okay…”
