Quinn walked around her room, taking out what little she had brought from her home in San Diego. Propped against the wall was her surfboard which she had to take with her. Rocket ship models were sitting on her bookcase and posters of California and space related things were on her walls. So far, Quinn didn't have a room mate.

Lina rushed to the living room "Where are going to be late come on let's go!!" she said forgetting her phone in her room
Quinn checked her watch. {Shoot, it's almost the assembly.} She thought to herself. She grabbed a light blue hoodie with 'San Diego Surf' on it and slipped into some flip flops. She didn't bother fixing her curly blond hair. In about five minutes, she was out the door and walking towards campus.
Calypso called her back. “This your phone?”
"Oh thanks!" Lina said a bit flustered, "umm I think we really need to get going hehe"
Dylan smoothly skated down the sidewalk. He reached the assembly a few minutes early. He took a seat up front, his skates still on.
( should Quinn know someone, like Calypso or someone? Or she'll just be that new Cali kid :P )
Quinn walked towards the front seats, sitting down by a boy with ripped jeans and black clothing. She looked down at his skates and grinned. {Damn, I need some of those}
(It would be nice if we all got to meet in the assembly)
Dylan looked over at the girl who sat by him. He acknowledged her by nodding his head. "Hey."
Lina went to where the the assembly was going to be, she wanted to have a nice spot so she took one of the front rows behind a boy and a girl, saving a spot beside her for Calypso
( yeah, let's do that)
She looked up at him, tucking back a strand of curly blond hair behind her ear. "Hey, uh, . . ." Quinn frowned. "Well, I don't actually know your name yet."
(Yeah)
Calypso and Lina made their way down to the assembly, chatting amiably.
"Dylan. What's yours?" He responded simply.
"Quinn." She replied, leaning back in her chair casually. "You a skater?"
"So what is this all going to be about? Like a "hey welcome to the university blah blah blah enjoy your stay?" or there will be something at the end too?" Lina asked, she didn't really know any info about the assembly
Dylan nodded. "Just casually though." He chuckled. "It's a lot cheaper than a car or bus. Plus, it's good for the environment."
“No idea.”, Calypso shrugged, turning to the guy next to her (Dylan). “Hi, I’m Calypso.”
She nodded in agreement. "I surf and skate. Can't really use a surf board to get around. . . but it's still nice."
Quinn leaned over and gave a small wave to the girl. "Calypso? Like the Greek myth?"
"I'm Dylan." He nodded, looking around the room they were in. I mean, these girls are nice but where are all the guys?
Lina watched how Calypso was making friends with the girl and the boy in front of them, she felt her face flush a light pink, being shy was not something she truly enjoyed, she wanted to say hi but stayed quiet
"Who's your friend?" Dylan asked, pointing to the girl next to Calypso.
Quinn looked towards the other girl, studying her with her deep blue eyes. She gave her a small smile. "Hey, I'm Quinn. How about you?"
“This is Lina, my roommate. You guys all in first year? And yeah, like the myths.”
Dylan nodded. "First year, yeah. Studying to be a mechanical engineer."
"First year too. Trying to become an aerospace engineer."
Dylan looked at Quinn. "Aerospace? What, like NASA?"
