She smiled a little, grabbing a small pad and paper from the table next to her. 'You don't have to do this.'

Lillian felt her eyebrows furrow, something was off. Not just her own problems, something was off with her boyfriend.

He swallowed hard and closed his eyes, maybe if he slept this wouldn't happen or at least he couldn't feel it.

Lillian blinked open, she was still sort of half asleep half awake. She looked up at Darren, "You okay?"

She smiled a little, grabbing a small pad and paper from the table next to her. 'You don't have to do this.'

"In a few months, I plan on making a few more promises to you. One of those being 'In sickness and in health' I'll still be here for you. I feel like I do need to do this and I want to help you so deal with it," he rambled as he applied a cream to her neck. He had put a bottle of Ibuprofen next to her with the water bottle.

Lillian blinked open, she was still sort of half asleep half awake. She looked up at Darren, "You okay?"

He hated people being anywhere near him when he was sick, always had and probably always would but what was harder was telling people when he wasn't feeling good. He stuck with the answer he always gave even if it was obvious that he was otherwise, "I'm fine,"

She rolled her eyes with a smile. 'Yeah but I'm not sick or healthy. Just stupid.'

"I don't believe that," he sighed, his voice stayed calm as we worked, "You're very smart, smarter than most people and though your decisions aren't always desirable you should know that you are, by no means, stupid,"

Lillian frowned and moved to get off the couch. She didn't try to push him further, "I'll head up to the bedroom if that helps you out."

'We're all at least a little stupid, sugar.'

"What? No that is no help at all," his eyes opened quickly, "Don't go,"

"I don't really believe that either. It's your decisions not you," he sighed, "Take the meds and relax," he sat back down next to her,"

Lillian chuckled and moved back to her closer position, "Okay, I won't. But you don't have to hide whatever's wrong from me."

She swallowed the pills, sipping on her water slowly. 'I love you <3'

'Why does this entire conversation seem more cliche than normal?' She shrugged. That's what it seemed like to her.

"Because we're freaking weird," He laughed, "here, I'll make it less cliche… Did you check the trash before you took it out?"

"Thanks," he said quietly. He still thought that if he just slept he at least wouldn't feel it anymore.

"You're welcome. So get some sleep," Lillian said in a soft voice. As if that would put him to sleep.
