"If you don't mind." She smiled lightly, although if you looked close enough you could see that it was fake.
He kissed her forehead and took the baby, placing her in the other room and returning quickly to cuddle next to Belle.

Lillian nodded as she pulled up to the house, "Come on let's go Um, should we just let Cooper sleep in the car?"
âNo I got him,â Darren out on a brave face and got out to grab his brother.
"OkayâŚ" Lillian got out and kept an eye on Darren. Something moved in the corner of her eye, she didn't bother to look thinking it was paranoia. These invasive thoughts just wouldn't leave her alone.
He took a deep breath, unsure if he could do this but did it anyway. Taking Cooper from the car and stumbling to the house.
Lillian smiled and moved to follow them. Instead someone grabbed her from behind and pulled her into them. A hand covered her mouth and a muffled scream could be heard. A low familiar voice whispered softly into her ear and Lillian's whole body froze, "Come with me, and this'll be much less painful for both you and me."
Dad⌠Fuck. Fuck! It wasn't paranoia. Fuck!
Darren hadnât heard a thing but the feeling of her no longer being behind him got his attention. He laid Coop on the couch and ran back out. âHEY STOP!â He homered weakly.
Her father gave Darren a smile, but his grip on his daughter never released. Though his hand did move from her mouth to her shoulder, "Oh hey there! I just wanted to take her out for a bit if that's fine with you."
Lillian tried to move, but her muscles had been locked in place with fear. Flight or fight, and she seemed to be stuck in the 'or' phase.
âWe have plans,â he said quickly, âMaybe later?â
Her father thought for a moment, âSounds just fine, Iâll pick her up later to take her.â
Her father said with such certainty, and he wasnât letting go. Lillian wanted to scream, do something. Anything.
âOkay⌠Iâll see you later then. Sheâll be readyâ
Lillianâs father nodded. He let go of his daughter and patted her shoulder, like a goodbye. He walked over to that damn car Lillian had been seeing all day and drove off. Lillian fell down on her knees sobbing. She was supposed to have gotten over this. Why didnât her body listen?! Doubt, guilt, anger, and above all the feeling of being terrified flooded through her core. She couldnât stand up, she couldnât do anything!

She so desperately wanted to just cuddle him and forget about everything but her body wouldn't let her. Her heart just wasn't in it. She felt disconnected, like she was watching everything from an outsider's perspective.

He pulled her close and closed his eyes. He told himself everything would be fine because thatâs all he had left.
She stayed still, thinking. Had sheâŚfallen out of love? Was that a thing? Could that even happen? She shook her head. No. Impossible. She loved him more than words could say and that was that.
Maybe it was just the stress of being married? Maybe cold feet had gotten the better of both of them.

The wedding was only a couple months away, maybe that was it? I mean, they technically hadn't even finished planning it. She wrapped her arms around him, just needing something solid to hold on to for right now.
He let out a sigh. He wanted things to be how they used to be more than anything.
"What happened to us? Where did it all go so wrong?" She whispered. Why had their relationship turned into nothing but drama and stress?
âThe beginning I thinkâŚâ hadnât it always been this way? They were just now getting tired of it.
She chuckled lightly. "Okay, not what I meant." She sighed. "It's gone from bad to worse." Take a break! You really didn't have to sing that. Oh but I did.

Lillian felt her head nod. She tried to stand up, her legs were trembling as she stood.

âSorry,â he said quietly. âIâm really trying,â

"I know you are, I'm trying too." She squeezed him lightly. "I just don't know what to do."
"Do you still want to get married?" He asked so quietly that he could barely hear himself. A light ringing in his ears had loudened.
"Of course I do." Her voice was small but held a strong confidence.

âWe can be gone by the time he comes back,â
