Lilah walked over to her bed and sat in the edge to watch the dogs. She gestured for Cameron to join her.
"They're ridiculous," she laughed as Lilac barked again and nudged the puppy with her nose.
Cameron sat with Lilah on her comfortable bed with a laugh. “They’re cute, though.”
Lily tossed her head in shock, then fell over with a bork when Lilac nudged her. She flailed up onto her feet once more, wiggling her body in happiness.
Lilac sniffed the puppy, then gently took her muzzle in her maw.
Lily wiggled unhappily, trying to pull away from the bigger dog. She gave a short fearful whine that made Cameron look down in concern.
"Lilac, knock it off," Lilah called to the dog, who looked up in confusion and let go of the puppy.
Lily barked softly, whining. She ran around the room, then back to Lilac, wiggling her tush up into the air.
"Maybe we should take them outside," Lilah suggested with a laugh.
Lilac copied the puppy, wagging her whole rear end in the air.
Cameron laughed too and rose off the bed. He scooped up the puppy abruptly, ending their play time.
Lilac barked in confusion when her new playmate was taken away.
"C'mon, girl. We're going outside," Lilah said, and the dog immediately trotted over to her, dragging her leash.
Lily flailed with a bork, whining as Lilac walked away.
“Calm down, girl, we’re going outside.”
Lily wagged her tail at ‘outside’.
"They're excited," Lilah laughed as she bent to pick up the white leash. She stood and started toward the door, looking over her shoulder when she reached it. "You coming?"
“Yep!” Cameron jogged over after gaining a steady hold on the pupper. “Let’s go.”
Lilah smiled and led the way to the gardens. She stopped a passing servent and asked for a picnic to be sent to them, making sure to have her get Cameron's favorite kind of sandwich with it.
Cameron smiled warmly as he overheard and held the door open for her. “So, will there be cheesecake involved?” He asked quizzically as she walked over.
"I didn't ask for it, but if they know who's asking for a picnic I'm sure it'll be sent," Lilah said with a laugh as she stepped outside.
Cameron chuckled and stepped outside. “I love your gardens. It’s so beautiful.”
"They are, aren't they?" Lilah sighed as she looked around. Smiling, she bent down to unhook Lilac's leash, then straightened to look at Cameron. "You can let Lily off her leash. She can run around."
Cameron bent down and swifty unlatched the puppy. The effect was immediate; the puppy ran off like she was shot out of a cannon, haring along the trodden path of their gardens.
Lilah laughed when Lilac tore after the puppy. Her barks were heard coming from the opposite end of the garden.
"Well… There goes us actually watching them."
Cameron chuckled gently and stuck out his hand for Lilah to take. “Shall we walk, then?”
"Of course, your highness," Lilah said with a grin as she took Cameron's hand. "Should we go to the fountain again? Or do you want to see something different?"
Cameron hummed thoughtfully. “The fountain sounds good, yeah?” He grinned at her.
"It's fine with me!" Lilah chirped as she started in that direction.
He smiled happily, swinging their arms between them. “So after the picnic, what would you like to do?”
"Oh, we could… We could go to the lake? It's certainly starting to get warmer," Lilah suggested with a smile, and her writer hoped she hadn't already declared it a different season…
Cameron’s gaze grew dreamy. “Of course! You guys have a lake here??” He loved lakes… the way they sparkled and danced in the sun…
"Well, not here here. We'd have to drive, but it's only a few minutes by car," Lilah said, grinning at the look on his face.
Cameron hummed happily. “Sounds amazing! We should have our picnic there.”
"Without finishing our walk?" Lilah teased.
Cameron hummed. “We could walk there! Lakes are amazing like that.”
