Thomas blushed a little bit, but his lips curled upwards slightly, “I- I’m glad I learned it for that. It was- It was really nice.” A little warm feeling in his chest turned on, like an ember became a flame. He curled his toes within his shoes, the small smile growing as he stared at Damien’s face.
Damien grinned, not able to pull his gaze away from Thomas. The butterflies had returned to his stomach, and it felt like they were having a rave party inside him. "Yeah…me too."
“We should dance more often,” Thomas mumbled, but he was already snuggling closer underneath Damien’s warm arm. The bus was coming to a halt, a block away from their stop.
(Hi sorry I don't know how to respond :(
(oof Maybe they could go into the apartment and meet up with everyone again? shrug)
Damien stood up as the bus stopped, reading the street sign to make sure that this was their stop. He made sure Thomas was following him before he stepped on to the sidewalk.
Thomas quickly followed, keeping his head low as he walked towards their building. He slipped inside, holding open the door for Damien as he asked quietly, “Can we, um, not tell the others about what happened?” Thomas didn’t want to retell the story again, he didn’t want to relive it.
Damien nodded. "Absolutely." He thanked Thomas as he walked inside the apartment.
Antoine was asleep on the couch, his eyepatch slipping slowly off his eyes. He shifts in his sleep, appearing to have a nightmare.
Nova moves from the couch when she sees Antoine moving around in his sleep. She gently shakes him awake and when she does, the eye patch completely slips off his face. She doesn't gasp when she sees the burned ankh on his eye. She quickly places it back on before he awakens and sits back on the couch, her hand over her mouth in shock.
Thomas shyly walked into their apartment, chewing his lip. He wished no one would ask him about how the audition had been, but that was a little far fetched hope. He took a deep breath, and tried to bring up a confident voice, “Uh, hey, we’re back.”
Antoine slowly wakes up. "Wh-what?" He mumbles and shifts, officially waking up when the others entered the apartment. "Hey." He answers looking at the others, rubbing his eye. "What's up? Did you make the auditions?"
Nova turns to face the door when she saw Thomas and Damien walk into the house. "Yea, how was it?" She asked while getting up to make something for lunch.
Antoine runs a finger along the line of his eyepatch to adjust it. It felt a little odd. He shrugs and quickly adjusts it without flashing the ankh.
Thomas looked away as he replied, “It was, um, fine. I didn’t get the part though.” He chewed on his lower lip, not wanting to look either of them in the eyes as if they could see right through the lie.
"Shame." Antoine says, shrugging. "There are always more opportunities, though. Chin up." He could tell the other was lying but he didn't want to push.
"That's bad. I know how hard you practiced for that but hopefully in the future you'll get another part. Do you guys want sandwiches?" She walked to the kitchen and got out the materials.
"Sandwiches would be great." Damien responded, glad that no one pushed for more information about Thomas's audition.
“A sandwich sounds nice,” He said quietly, then added slowly, “I think I’m going to take a shower first.” Thomas grabbed clean clothes from his bedroom before slipping into the bathroom, letting out a breath as he closed the door.
Nova quickly made three sandwiches and a simple peanut butter on jelly one for herself. She heard the lie right through Thomas' teeth but decided not to comment on it because it must have been very bad that he had to lie to his friends.
Thomas stripped of the clothes -clothes he frankly wanted to burn now- and turned the water on as hot as it could get. He hissed quietly when he stepped into the shower, but didn’t want to change the temperature. Thomas wanted the phantom feelings gone.
"Thanks Nova." Damien said, taken a sandwich for himself and grabbing a small can of soda from the fridge. He prayed with all his heart that no one would ask him what happened at the audition, knowing that they would immediately catch him lying.
He was quiet, walking towards his room. He takes a deep breath and removes his eyepatch and runs a finger along the burn. He clicks his teeth before walking around his room, placing things in his bag. Evidence, files, targets. He needed to find the people who hurt him and make them burn.
"Did Antoine just fall asleep on the couch? He needs to get some better sleep." Damien finally said after taking a few bites of his sandwich.
Antoine exits the room, the bad slung over his shoulder. His blue eye glints malevolently. "I'll be back in a little while." He calls, grabbing his coat.
"How long a while?" She asked while wiping the jelly from her lips.
"A few hours at most." He replies. He adjusts his jacket and grabs his bag.
When Thomas exited the shower, his skin was slightly red from irritation form the heat, but he ignored it as he got dressed into clean clothes. The phantom hands feeling didn’t go away. He shuddered, then stepped out of the bathroom and started beelining towards his room.
