Aim checks the wound again. It was bleeding slightly but not much surprisingly, "Axl?"
Somewhere in his dreamless sleep he hears her voice. He grunts in respond, trying to pull himself into reality.
"Axl? Are you alive?" She looks around. He was too heavy to pull back to the shed. And they where in danger zone out in the open like this. She stamps out the fire.
He slowly drifts awake. It's nimb by now, which was worse. All he could do was tilt his head a little as she stomped out the fire.
Aim turns back toward him, "Oh. You are alive. Good. Are you ok?'
He can't seem to open his mouth. He simply stares at her, his eyes watching her every move in a soft manner.
"Im sorry. But you'll be fine now though." She crouches down next to him
There's something really different about her. He takes his right arm and lifts it up to her face. The moonlight hit her face on the side highlighting her. He still can't say anything, he just stares at her.
"What? Can you not talk or something?"
(Time to get this ship sailing?)
(Oooooo yaaaa)
He wanted to tell her how she looked beautiful, how she was the strongest girl he'd met. He placed the words on his tongue, but his throat wouldn't let him. He was stuck admiring her. It's not like she'd like me after one day anyway. So, he held his tongue, dropping his hand to his side.
"Hey." She sweeps his bangs from his forehead, "Are you ok? Can you say anything yet?"
Her fingers were cold against his forehead. He opened his mouth but closed it, unsure what to say. He then remembered they were sitting in a field with zombies nearby. His voice was scratchy, slightly cracked around the edges. "We need to move."
"Where? You can't." She grabs his right arm and pulls him up to a sitting position.
He winces as he sits up. "Yes, I can." He uses his right arm and pushes against the ground, standing up. He immediately regrets it, colors filling his vision as he begins to fall.
Aim grabs him quickly and holds him up
He holds on to her for a minute, everything blurring together. It finally clears and he looks to her. "Maybe you're right."
"Huh? You must be delirious." She looks around then down at his legs (which I presume where wobbling like a newborn deer's.) She huffs and looks up. On the horizon of the hilled field she could see slow moving bodies. It was too dark to see which way they where headed but she didnt want to take any chances. She bent with her back facing him, "C'mon. Ill carry you." (Piggy-back style)
He hesitated. "Umm. I'm a tad bit heavier than you might think. I'll probably crush you."
"Dont be stupid. Im stronger than I look. Plus. We really have no other choice." She scans the area quickly
He looked around. She's right. He hesitates for another second before climbing on her back. He winces as he does. "You okay?" He wanted to make sure she wasn't being crushed by him.
Aim had to put her knee down but stood none the less, "Yeah. Keep your arm up. The injured one." She puffs as she starts to jog back toward the town
The motion stung, but he kept his arm up. He held onto her with the other arm. Even though he wasn't actually walking, he felt like he was going to either throw up or pass out.
Aim stumbles through the streets, "Where should we go?"
"I, um, I don't-" he looks around. "There. That building." There was an apartment complex. This one had several buildings close together. It didn't seem to have any zombies.
Aim crosses toward it swiftly. SHe reaches an alley way and her foot trips. She sprawls in a heap underneath his weight.
He rolls of her and to the side, coughing. He then got to his knees and leaned over her. "You okay?"
She gets up on her hands and knees, coughing having been winded. She looks up to meet his eyes, "Could be better."
"I-" as their eyes met, a shiver went up his spine. "I can walk. It's okay."
"No it's not." She noticed the shiver but took it as a bad sign from the wound, "C'mon. You just had your arm amputated."
