"Did I make you… uncomfortable?" she asked quietly.
"Did I make you… uncomfortable?" she asked quietly.
“That you did manage to do.” He paced a few steps before stopping and looking her dead in the eyes. “I’m- I’m sorry, I should just go.” He shook his head and headed toward his door.
Her breath caught in her throat when he looked right into her eyes. "Okay…" Strangely, she had to try not to sound as disappointed as she felt.
A hand on his door, it felt like someone punched him right in the gut from how disappointed she sounded. Tell her how you feel some voice inside him screamed. He shook, unsure of what to do, feeling like a meltdown would come any second.
"Are you okay?" she asked gently, noticing him stop.
“I- I,” He stuttered. He dropped to his knees, gritting his teeth. A huge migrane pounded at him.
Trinity rushed over. "Asher? Asher, what's wrong?"
A low groan was his only response. He leaned his head against his door frame, hands digging into the floor. He shook and sounded like he was in intense pain. His eyes forced shut.
Trinity cautiously put her palm on his back. Golden energy began transferring from her to him. "Just hang on," she murmured. It would take most of her energy since he was a demon, but she pushed the thought from her mind.
Shaking harder, a scream tore from him. Pain coursed through his body. His head filled with voices that weren’t his own, as claws tore at his insides. Somewhere, in the distance, he swore he heard Trinity’s voice. He fought back, trying to hold on for her. Swallowing down blood, his body tensed, small shivers still coursing over him.
"Come on!" Her eyes turned gold and the healing power increased tenfold.
Finally, whatever Trinity had been doing to help worked. Everything stopped. Stomach churning, he put a hand to his head to try and steady himself. Swaying slightly, he completely slumped against the wall, heavily panting for breath.
The angel saw that her work was done. What was left of the power, most of it had completely drained from her system, retreated back into her and she collapsed to the floor, unconsious.
Seeing the angel fall, Asher quicky jumped up, wincing, and crawled over to her. “Trinity, Trinity! Are you alright? Wake up!” He gently placed a hand against her neck to check for a pulse, and sighed with relief when he found it.
Her eyes flickered. "Mmm? Asher? What happened?"
“Hang on a minute,” he muttered to her, before scooping her up in his arms and carrying her into his room and gently placing her on his bed. He grabbed the chair by his piano and sat a few feet away from her before saying,”You, you helped me.. Thank you so much..”
"It… was nothing," she replied softly. "I have… the power to heal… I may as well us it."
“Still,” one of his rare smiles lit up his face. “You, you have no idea what it means to me. Thank you.”
"You're welcome," she whispered faintly.
Genuine worry in his voice, he leaned forward and asked, “Are you gonna be alright? Is there anything I can do?”
"I'll be fine. Just a little rest," she said with a small smile.
“Oh, alright then. I can leave if you want…?” He glanced between her and the door, honestly wanting to stay with her.
She didn't know what she was thinking, but the word escaped her lips without hesitation: "Stay."
Happiness flooded his chest at her choice. Smiling once again, he replied quietly, “All right, I will.”
"Thank you," she murmured, a smile settling on her lips.
“Of course.” He reached out and lightly squeezed her hand before he could think. “I’m honored to stay with you, to be honest.”
"Really?" she wheezed. Calm down… control your breathing…
Realizing he still had her hand, he let go and pulled back. “Oh, uh, yeah, really.”
She reached tiredly out for his hand. "Why did you say honored?"
“Well, uh, because, well, no reason.” He started to panic, not sure if either of them were ready for the truth.
