Lillian opened her eyes. She gave him a little smile, âYes.â
âGood.â He pressed his lips against hers happily.

âGood.â He pressed his lips against hers happily.
Lillian smiled and she kissed him back. She was glad that he wanted to make sure she was okay with this. It made sense considering what happened earlier.
"All you had to do was ask," Cooper whispered in her ear with a devilish grin.
She nearly jumped in surprise. "Jesus, don't do that!" Whispering or someone's breath on her ears or neck sent chills down her spine.
Cooper laughed and kissed her cheek, âSorry not sorry dear,â
"Yeah yeah whatever. You know better." She tapped his nose sharply.
Coop and Ryan both chuckled. âDo I strike you as a rule follower?â

Darren pulled himself closer, enjoying every moment of this.
"You were whenever I was around." She pointed out.
âWas I?â He laughed, âHmm. Donât remember that,â
"I do. Remember when I had to break you out of the county jail because you were caught shoplifting and I nearly slapped you? From then on you were a goody two shoes. At least around me."
Cooperâs face turned bright red, âYeah I remember,â he said quietly. He didnât like being scolded.
(Hey. Do you know the song Swing, Swing by The All American Rejects?)
(Nah, I don't listen to a lot of All American Rejects.)
"Exactly." She tapped his nose sharply again.
(Dang. I tried. )
âDo you guys know how long I have to stay at the hospital?â
She shook her head. "I could find out if you let me go." She chuckled.
âNot a chance,â he chuckled but loosened his grip a little.
"Aww, how unfortunate." She laughed.
âIf you want to go that badly then I hereby set you free but otherwise no,â he smiled.
"Only if you want me to stay." She smiled a little.
He grinned and held her closer. âWell if itâs up to meâŚâ
"It kind of is considering you're holding me captive."
Coop let out a low laugh, âItâs not holding you captive if I gave you the option to leave,â he nuzzled his nose to her cheek. Ryan looked jealous but he didnât stop it.
She giggled. "I think you're making my fiance jealous." Not that she minded.
"I'm not jealous," Ryan mumbled. Cooper simply laughed, he had too much control here. "I think I'll go check on when you can leave," Ryan offered as he stood up.
"Noooo, don't leave me." She whined. "I need to get up or else I will fall asleep."
"Maybe getting some rest would be the best thing for you right now," he laughed, "But if you insist, then come with. But if you do you have to promise to at least take a nap later⌠Deal?" Ryan bargained for her sleep.
She rolled her eyes with a smile. Of course she had to make a deal with her sleep. "Deal. Now help me up."
He grabbed her hands and pulled her up into his lips with a small laugh. Cooper looked away.

Lillian shifted closer, she was loving this.
She didn't mind. For a couple seconds, all was right in her world.
The reality that they were getting married crashed in on Cooperâs mind. His face hardened and he pulled the IVs from his arms and stood up, only hesitating for a moment to clear the dizzying effects before walking out.
"Do you think after the wedding it'll be any different?" Her words were half mumbled against his lips. By 'it' she meant things like this, just a simple kiss could be so much.
