Kenzie's eyes widened and a deep blush formed on her cheeks.
"You've what now?!?" Willow exclaimed. "McKenzie Hope Rhodes, as your best friend, I'd think you'd tell me something like this!"
"It was three," Kenzie whispered, looking at the floor. "And, I mean, you never actually asked me, so I just figured…" she shrugged, unwilling to finish her sentence.
(Yes, she counted. Welcome to the mind of the nerd that is Kenzie!) XD
(Wow, Kenzie xD)
Leo whistled and gave Hunter a thumbs up, which the latter ignored. Hunter was too busy grinning at Kenzie.
"If our friends weren't here," Hunter started, looking serious. "Then the number would have been four. Or five. It depends."
(Honestly, I don't even know how to respond to that… Wow, Hunter. Just, wow.)
(laughs I hope that the speechlessness in this case is good instead of bad xD)
Hunter decided he had enough fun today. Kenzie looked just about ready to burst from embarrassment.
"Let's go eat," he laughed, ruffling Kenzie's hair.
(laughs I hope that the speechlessness in this case is good instead of bad xD)
(Well… It's a bit from shock and a bit from laughter. XD)
"Agh!" Kenzie shouted, reaching up to fix her hair. She shot Hunter a look of feigned offense, then playfully exclaimed, "Do you know how long it took me to do this? It was, like, an hour! Curling my hair takes forever."
Hunter grinned cheekily.
"My bad," he pulled at her cheeks, watching in amusement as she slapped his hands away and rubbed her cheeks.
"Guys," Leo rolled his eyes. "We're here. Stop flirting. You'll make me lose my appetite."
Hunter grunted and stepped back from Kenzie, only to stomp on Leo's foot.
"Just because you're single doesn't mean you can stop me from having fun."
Willow muttered something about being a third wheel, but she shut up when Kenzie shot her a fierce look.
"C'mon, let's eat," Kenzie said, bouncing in anticipation. "I'm starving!"
"What would you like?" the waiter asked, making all four of them quiet down. Leo opened his mouth, but Hunter cut him off.
"We'd like a BBQ pizza, garlic bread for four, spaghetti and steak," he started, listing his favorites from Italian Oven. "For dessert, we'd like a chocolate cake and a strawberry cake, and you can ask the ladies for what they want. As for drinks, two cokes and…" he looked at Kenzie and Willow expectantly.
(I don't know if you've heard of it, but it used to be my favorite place back in my country. The BBQ pizza there was amazing!)
(Nope, never heard of it! BBQ Pizza sounds interesting!)
"Lemonade, please," Kenzie ordered politely.
"I'll just get a water," Willow said.
(Was Hunter ordering for everyone, or just himself and Leo?)
(He was ordering for everyone. He comes here often, so he knows the best things served here.)
"Lemonade and water for the ladies," Hunter repeated with a polite smile on his face. "What about dessert?"
(Great! 'Cause I'd have no idea what they have! XD)
Kenzie shrugged. "What you ordered sounds great! Especially the strawberry cake."
(Shall we skip to the end of the meal?)
Hunter nodded.
“Make that three strawberry cakes and one chocolate,” Hunter said, then leaned back and waited for their food. “I swear, their garlic bread is worth dying for.”
(Shall we skip to the end of the meal?)
(😂😂😂 this date is longer than we expected 🤣)
By the end of the meal, Kenzie was stuffed.
"Ugh… I don't think I could eat another bite!" she exclaimed, leaning back in her seat.
"Ditto," Willow agreed, copying her friend.
[I had a good idea! (I think so, anyway…) Hunter and Kenzie should play 'two truths and a lie'!]
(Hi! Sorry I wasn't on, I was busy cause of the Triduum this week and wasn't allowed on my computer)
(And I have been busy, too… sighs
I'm also stuck on another problem :/ I wanted to select Lady Midnight as my pen name, but it turned out to be a book. I just can't come up with another pen name for myself. And to make matters worse, one of the books I have been trying to write since like two years is also called Lady Midnight. Ugh)
"I could go for another garlic bread," Hunter commented, leaning back.
"Me, too, man," Leo agreed. "I can't believe I've never eaten here before."
Hunter wanted to order some more garlic bread, but he decided not to.
"Well, it's kind of late," he noted, taking out his money to pay for the meal. "So Leo, be a man and take Willow home, will you?" it wasn't that Hunter was trying to play matchmaker. No, not at all. What he was trying to do was being alone with Kenzie. Leo probably understood, because he immediately stood up.
"Sure, Hunt," he grinned. "It'd be my pleasure."
"Oh, sure," Willow drawled sarcastically. "I'll ride home with the strange man I've only just met today." When she noticed everyone's shocked looks, she rolled her eyes and stood up. "I'm kidding. Come on, Blondie, let's go." She grabbed Leo by the arm and dragged him away, finally leaving Kenzie and Hunter alone.
Not even a second later, she dashed back inside and glared at Hunter.
"By the way, if you ever hurt her—" she gestured to Kenzie, who was wide-eyed and blushing because she knew what her friend was about to say, "—I will make sure they never find your body." That said, she walked back out the door to Leo and his car.
Kenzie groaned and put her head in her hands. "I'm sorry about her. Like I said, she's a little protective."
(laughs Oh, Willow. shakes her head at her own character's actions)
(@»Callie« My pen name is Arabelle Moore, and my friend's is Lacey Lockhart. I just look for cool-sounding names and pick whatever I like best.)
(@»Callie« My pen name is Arabelle Moore, and my friend's is Lacey Lockhart. I just look for cool-sounding names and pick whatever I like best.)
(I like to pick names that have a cool ring to it. My friend suggested I’d use either Lady Eclipse or Midnight Eclipse, but I’m still being a little picky)
Hunter shook his head.
“No worries, at least I know for sure she can protect you when I can’t,” Hunter says, standing up and casually taking Kenzie’s hand, linking their fingers together.
“Come on, there’s something I want to show you.” Kenzie looked at him in confusion, but Hunter paid her no heed. They walked out of Italian Oven and Hunter lead her on, his hold tight on her hands. He wanted to push her against the wall and kiss the life’s out of her, but refrained from doing so. He’d do it when they’d get where he wanted to take her.
Finally, they got where he wanted to take her.
“There we go,” he smiled. “It’s not much, but I come here all the time to catch a break.”
The place had a tall tree, which Hunter explained was really old. It was huge, but it only made it look beautiful.
“And there’s the main event,” Hunter smiled brightly as he pointed behind Kenzie. “The sunset.”
