Sami set the ceramic bowl on the altar, and put the ingredients in. Black Sage, Belladonna, and human bones. Her purchases. She was about to start the summoning when she heard a rustling noise come from the bushes to her right. She picked up her dagger just as a dog came tumbling out of the foliage.
"Lucky?" Sami said aloud, startled. He had a large bullfrog wriggling in his mouth.

@Victoria

(Lucky! YAY! Oh god, a bullfrog…XD. I guess Lucky wanted to go hunting with everyone but couldn't find them… Can Sami make him drop the bull frog pls? Lucky has a habit of bringing animals with him but not killing them. XD)

(AHAHAHAH CHASE ALMOST GOT CAUGHT BEING ON HERE BY THE TEACHER BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T LISTEN TO MY WARNING)

Sami wrestled the frog out of Lucky's mouth. It was still alive.
"A life for a life, that's how it works." She muttered to herself. "I was planning to trade myself but I suppose this would work." She looked down at the bullfrog in her hand, faintly croaking. Lucky looked proud of himself.
"Thank you Lucky." She praised him, patting his head. He wagged his tail.
She loosely tied him to a tree, so he wouldn't get hurt during the ritual. She went over to the altar and placed the frog in the bowl.
"να πάρει μια ζωή στην εποχή του, να διαπραγματευτεί για έναν στην κορυφή του" Sami began to chant, and raised her dagger. "το πλάσμα του πέπλου, σας καλώ για μια συμφωνία που πρέπει να γίνει ακόμα." At the end, she brought her dagger down against the back of her forearm, spilling some of her own blood into the bowl. Sami quickly wrapped her arm in a bandage and waited. Lucky let out a faint 'boof' in the background.

Kira sat up and turned around so that her legs were hanging off the edge of her bed. "Those men lead the resistance against the crown. That's why you don't lead them to me, Shey. They are state- of- the- art technology (which, you know, istn't that good yet), most harshly trained, nastiest group of people trying to take my father's throne away from him."

@Book_Lord24

(Yeah! It was amazing!! And thank you for being so nice to Lucky!)

(thx)(its not like i was gonna sacrifice lucky or something. you'd've killed me)

@Book_Lord24

Sami waited with bated breath. The area stayed silent. It hadn't worked. Damn….
"Why do you summon me, young siren?" A soft, neutral voice rang out. She lifted her head. Lucky barked at the stranger.
A man had appeared. He had brown hair, and bright amber eyes. He was quite young, but despite this, stood with perfect posture, wrapped in black robes.
Sami got over her shock quickly and went straight to the point. "My friend, Anna. She died."
"And you want to bring her back?" His tone remained neutral, and he tilted his head slightly. "That deal is a life for a life."
"But I also know that in magic, all lives are worth the same, no matter what living thing they belong to." She put the severely injured frog onto her palm. "This frog is dying, and instead of dying in pain, I'd like you to take him early, and restore life to my friend, who did not deserve to die in the first place."
The reaper considered this. "Yes, that is correct. I will grant your wish. But I wouldn't recommend trying this again, ever." He reprimanded her. "Others are not so considerate."
Sami wanted to cry with happiness. "Thank you." She passed the reaper the bullfrog, which croaked in protest. He waved a hand over it, and the frog felt no more pain. The body disappeared.
"I believe I have done what I was summoned for." The reaper nodded his head at her in adeu.
"Wait!" She protested, "What about Anna?"
The man only smiled. Then he vanished, taking the remains of the altar and the spell with him. Lucky and Sami were plunged into darkness.
"Well." She said to Lucky, untying him. "I think we should go see Anna's grave. Who knows. She might have to dig her way out of it."
Sami hoped this wasn't true. She hefted her bag and her crutches, and with Lucky close she began the trek back to the river where she had said her last goodbyes to Anna.

Anna woke up gradually. It wasn't like after a nightmare, where you start and jump up. Anna slowly drifted into consciousness, only to find she was buried somewhere.
"What the-" she whispered, only for dirt to fall into her mouth. She spit it out, trying to remember what happened.
She was with Sami. She had just gotten past the guards, and her side was injured.
"Write something cool on my gravestone."

Oh. Anna felt her side, only to feel dried blood and ripped cloth where the injury was. She panicked in the dark, surrounded by dirt. Clawing at the ground, she dug herself out of wherever she was, going past what felt like a force field, leaves, and a stick placed dramatically. She dry heaved, leaning over by a river and vomiting.
"Where am I?" she whispered. She recognized the wood, but she was also pretty sure she died. She inspected where the guard had hit her with the fatal blow. A long, jagged scar stretched across the area, but was completely healed minus all the dried blood and dirt left over. Wading into the river, she began to wash off. She was scared of what was happening, and confused, but like she says, take everything one step at a time. She washed the dirt and blood off her as best as she could, tying up her hair into a braid with a piece of ribbon she found around her wrist.
"If this is hell, I'm okay with that," she muttered, sighing and trying to dry off her now-sopping wet clothes. All her bruises, cuts, and injuries had healed themselves, leaving thin scars where the rope rubbed deeply into her wrists. She heard someone stumbling through the forest and grabbed a piece of driftwood. Whatever was coming towards her, she didn't want to meet it.
Finally, it was revealed to be Sami. She was quickly hobbling towards Anna, an expression of shock and relief on her face.

@Book_Lord24

"You're here." Sami cried, and launched herself into Anna, hugging her fiercely. Anna stumbled back, getting a faceful of Sami's curly blonde mane.

"Kind of." Kira aknowleged Amber's comment. "They used to be led by my father's brother, my uncle. He realized just how bad he was, and tried to disban the group, but it was too late. He had given them too much power to just stop there. My uncle left them, but they just kept growing. Now, he leads the resistance against them with my father. If they kidnap me, they'll send out a ransom. The throne for my life. Of course, nobody expects them to stay true to their word. If they get the crown, they'll probably just kill me. That's why, Shey, you don't help them find me." Kira said the last part through gritted teeth.
