"I'm glad you brought me there. And that you went on that walk with me," Kasey said softly, her gaze drifting over Liam's face.
"I'm glad you brought me there. And that you went on that walk with me," Kasey said softly, her gaze drifting over Liam's face.
“If I hadn’t we wouldn’t be together, so yes. I’m glad I took you there as well.” He murmured, letting out a tired sigh.
Kasey smiled gently and reached over to caress his cheek. "You should sleep more," she murmured.
Liam shook his head, “No, no I’m fine.”
"You barely slept last night, and you had a rough day yesterday. Plus, you need to heal. Healing requires rest," Kasey pushed gently. She rubbed her thumb on his cheek, then pulled her hand away.
“F-fine, but please don’t leave until I’m asleep, then.” Liam said, gently grabbing her hand out of fear of her leaving.
"I won't. I promise," Kasey whispered with a small smile. She gently squeezed Liam's hand, hoping to reassure him. "Now sleep…"
Liam nodded, “Alright…” It didn’t take long after that for him to fall asleep.
Kasey sighed as she watched him. She hoped that he would actually be able to sleep well this time.
Gently climbing out of the bed, she made her way to the bathroom. After doing what she needed to do, she looked at herself in the mirror. She pulled her sleeve up to look at her wound and saw that it had stopped bleeding. Kasey cleaned it up a bit, then went back to the bed and laid back down.
Liam shifted on the bed and winced in his sleep. He hadn't told Kasey of the nightmares that had also plagued him last night, but didn't want her to worry more then she already was. The nightmares weren't new, but they were a pain in any sense. Liam let out a sigh and tried to relax.
Kasey sighed quietly as she watched Liam move a bit in the bed. She gently rubbed his arm a bit, hoping it would help him sleep better. If he was going to get better, he would need all the rest he could get.
Liam relaxed a little at the touch, a comforting feel to him. His breathing slowed down a little and he settled down.
Kasey smiled and continued to rub Liam's arm for a bit. She moved so that her head was resting next to his chest, and she fought sleep away, figuring that she wouldn't need to sleep again. After a couple of minutes, she lost the battle and succumbed to the power of sleep.
Liam jerked awake a few hours later, not quite as tired but still fairly sleepy. He blinked a few times, trying to remember where he was. Once he did, he tried not to think about the dreams that had plagued him for another night.
Kasey was already awake, simply staring at the ceiling, when Liam woke up. She felt him jerk and looked over, giving him a small smile.
"Hey," she greeted him softly.
“Hello…” He muttered, rubbing at his face.
"You okay?" Kasey asked, turning onto her side to face him. She put an arm under her head to prop herself up and so that she could see Liam better.
“Yeah… yeah I’m okay.” Liam lied. He wasn’t and hoped it wasn’t obvious. He gave her a small smile to help his case.
Kasey raised an eyebrow at Liam.
"You do know that I can read thoughts, right?" she reminded him.
Liam sighed and rubbed at his face.
“Fine… fine I’m not okay.” He said quietly.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Kasey asked gently. "I'll listen if you want to, you know."
“I know you would, but I guess… I-I’m not sure if I do or not…” His voice became quieter as he spoke.
Kasey reached her free hand over and placed it on his arm. "That's okay, too. Just know that I'll be here whenever you want to," she whispered.
Liam nodded and gave her a wobbly smile, “Thank-you…” He whispered back.
"When do you think they'll let you out?" Kasey asked gently, moving a bit closer to him.
“Soon… maybe later tonight or tomorrow,” He shrugged, “I’m not entirely sure.”
"I hope it's earlier rather than later," Kasey murmured. She smiled as a thought came to her. "Our cats probably miss us, huh?"
Liam chuckled, “Ah, yeah. Mortem is probably trying to find his food…”
"The poor thing." Kasey blinked, realizing that she hadn't actually told Liam about Quake. "Oh… So, uh, Harper got me a kitten…"
Liam smiled, “That’s great, what’s it’s name?” He asked.
