"Weren't we pushing the age gap a little bit?" She countered.
“You’re marryig a 22 year old…”
"So? 4 years isn't as weird as 6 years. Not to mention that I was 12."
“Well… we were actually ‘dating’ so…”
"Ehhh that's where it gets technical."
“But now our age gap wouldn’t matter so much. The older you get the less people care,”
"Good. I don't want to be judged for marrying the love of my life." She overdramatically blew a kiss to Ryan.
Ryan smiled, shrugged and went back to having a grim face in the doorway.
"So yeah. I guess you're right though." She shrugged.
“Ryan are you doing okay?” Coop had just noticed his grim domineer. “Yeah I’m fine,” he said quietly.
"You sure?" Her voice was soft but concerned. She hated seeing him so grim.
“I said I’m fine,” he didn’t look up from his shoes.
Don't push it. I have to. Her stomach turned over, she didn't want him to be mad at her but she had to know. "You really don't seem like it…"
He sighed, “Just forget it. I’m fine,”
"I swear this boy is going to kill me with the stress of worrying about him." She mumbled under her breath. "Okay, whatever." She said a little louder.
He had heard what she had said as usual but said nothing about it.
She stared down at her shoes, bouncing on her toes lightly to try and keep the boredom at bay.
“How about a card game or… I don’t know… something?” Cooper suggested. “OR! We could climb to the roof and look at the city and watch the sunset,”
She gasped quietly. "Oh my god I'd love that! We used to do it all the time." Watching the sunset was probably the easiest way to get her to relax after a long day.
“I know!” He pushed himself off the ground. “That’s why I knew you’d love it!” Cooper walked over to a ladder. “Get Mr. Crabbyass and come on up.” He went through a hatch in the glass ceiling and disappeared onto the roof.
She skipped over to the ladder but hesitated. "You coming?" She asked Ryan softly.
Ryan smiled a little, “Yeah, I’ll be right behind you,”
A half smile briefly touched her lips. "Alright, I'll be waiting." She climbed up quickly, not wanting to miss the beautiful sunset.
Once she was gone, Ryan pulled the hand from his pocket that he’d been trying to hide. He shivered at the thick black hair that came from the back of his hand and the intense sharp claws coming from his finger. “Not now,” he grumbled as he went up he latter and immediately hid his hand again.
She stood on one of the glass supports, the gentle breeze pushing her hair out of her face for her. She smiled a little, this was nice.
Lillian had a soft grin on her face as she held Darren close.
His snoring remained soft for awhile, it didn’t turn into a construction zone like normal.
Lillian managed to nod off. His snoring wasn't that bad.
Cooper smiled over at her. “If you come over here, there’s no glass. So you probably won’t die,”
