Quincy returned back to leaning against Jade. The village had burned, how many like it had burned before? How many were yet to burn? Quincy didn't want more villages to burn. No one should go through that. Oh, who was she kidding. She sounded like a hypocrite. Had she not watched as her family burned people who thought dragons and humans could live in harmony. Had she not once lit a flame and heard their shrieking voices only to be shielded by her elder brother. No she was just as guilty.
Farron sighed, “Once you’re better, Aurelius, we should head north, there’s people there that can help us.”
"We don't have to wait that long. I just need to rest a little. I'm really tired," Aurelius replied, leaning back against Nox. He looked at his arm. A few splotches of blood had surfaced through the bandages.
Quincy looked to Aurelius. she got and sighed at the bandages, "We aren't leaving until you stop bleeding. And if that takes a week so be it."
“Luckily it won’t take long to reach cover, maybe a few days at most.” Farron said, shrugging a shoulder.
"I really shouldn't have attacked," he muttered, "I'm sorry."
Aurelius checked on his leg. It seemed like it may have stopped, but he wasn't entirely sure. Still, he was starting to feel worse and worse.
Quincy pulled out a new set of bandages and started to wrap up the old ones even tighter this time, "You followed your gut. And if you seriously don't get some rest soon your recovery time will be doubled."
"O-okay," Aurelius said.
He laid down against Nox's belly and tried to sleep, but the mixture of anxiety and pain kept him from doing so, even though he was worn out.
Quincy thought for a moment before reaching into her bag and grabbed a small pouch. Inside was a powder that she poured a little into her hand. she went back to Jade to grab her water flask. Using the closest thing to a cup she could find, Quincy mixed the powder into the water and brought it Aurelius, "Here."
“We should all rest, that’s probably the best option right now. I can keep watch for now.” Farron suggested.
"Oh. Thank you," he told Quincy, rolling over to accept the water. Except he rolled over to put weight on his injured leg. He flinched, but was quick to dismiss it.
Quincy rolled her eyes as she gave him the water. She didn't bother to tell him she technically drugged it with sleeping powder. It wasn't going to hurt him or anything. Quincy uses it all the time and look! She's fine!
Aurelius took a few sips at first, and the drowsiness began to hit quickly. It crashed over him like a wave. He was suddenly quite afraid. It couldn't be the blood loss, could it? Surely he hadn't progressed that far.
"I'm going to find a River or something. Riven let's go get you cleaned up." He had Aurelius's blood all over his back and Mara needed time to think as well, so she thought a walk would be nice. "We'll be back soon." Mara walked next to Riven so that she wouldn't get blood all over herself. They disappeared into the forest in search of water.
(Sorry, my brain is fried, so it's not very good.)
Quincy bit her lip figuring maybe she should tell. At least he had drunk it, “Oh uh. I figured I would help out and use some of my sleeping powder on you. So you could recover faster.”
"Oh, that's what this is?" he asked, sounding relieved, "I was having trouble sleeping, actually, so it's much appreciated."
(It looks fine to me! And again, as long as it's not horrible one-liners, it's all good.)
“Yep your welcome,” Quincy took the cup and walked back to Jade, “We’ll make sure you stay safe.”
Aurelius started to drift off quickly. He leaned against Nox and fell asleep; the sleeping powder knocked him out almost as soon as he closed his eyes. Nox covered him partially with her wing and made a low rumbling sound that was hardly audible, kind of like a cat purring.
Riven and Mara found a small pond, deep in the forest and she hoped that she wasn't lost. "Okay, so I don't have a rag, I'll have to get creative." Mara looked down at her torn up dress there was a longer piece in the back that could work as a rag. It was hard to RIP at first but as soon as a little piece gave the rest was easy. "You keep a look out while I wash you up." She dipped the dress piece into the water and started to wiped him down. It was quiet and peaceful, although it was getting dark and harder to see. Here, Riven lit up the scales, he shined a silver and blue. It reflected off the water and showed in the sky (Almost like the northern lights.) "Wow, Riven! That's beautiful."
off in the distance, a loud crack could be heard as Zuriel and Arioch had crashed into the forest nearby.
Aurelius was so deep in sleep that the loud noises didn't wake him, but Nox was incredibly startled. She lifted her wing and moved away from him, going to observe where the noise came from.
The crash startled both Riven and Jesse. "What was that?" Riven stopped glowing, just in case it could be the enemy. "Man, and I wanted to see more of the lights." Riven wrapped himself around Mara for her safety. Be quiet.
Zuriel limped into the area it's just us… she was wounded "a pair of riders tried to follow you guys." Arioch said pulling an arrow out of his shoulder. "but we got their attention and lost them… but at the cost of Zuriel's injury."
"I'm sorry." Mara should have paid more attention to see if anyone was following. "Riven, I need some light." Riven light up again and it was just as beautiful as the first time. "Come here," Mara patted a spot on the grass next to her. "I'm not much of a healer, but I can stop the bleeding at least.
Zuriel limped next to Mara and lifted up her wing the wound opened her old scar it shouldn't need much attention… yet again I haven't had this happen so I have no idea.
"I wish Quincy was here, she would know what to do." Mara would send Riven to get her, but then all her light would be gone. She ripped another piece of her dress off and held it to the wound on Zuriel. "Sorry, I'll try to stop the bleeding as much as I can, but we should head back soon so Quincy can look at you."
I should be fine, thank you, by the way she lied down so Mara could get a better angle to stop the bleeding.
Mara pressed the cloth to the wind and she put pressure on it. "I'll have to hold it like this for a bit." Riven stayed glowing, but laid down in the grass next to Mara.
Quincy had taken a nap against Jade, but Jade was wide awake. She had her head turned to the forest.
Jade? What was that? Nox asked, flicking her tail. She crept a little closer to the trees. Where are Mara and Riven?
