“Good. Let’s go,” Aurelius replied, “I think we’re safe.”
“Good. Let’s go,” Aurelius replied, “I think we’re safe.”
Quincy nodded and nudged Jade as the pair lead the way. Both were uncharacteristically quiet, and Quincy still had a tight grip on her sword.
Mara shifted on Nox's back to try and see a bit better in front of her, also to keep and eye on Riven to make sure he was doing okay. "Sorry about this Nox, I just figured it was the safest way to travel for him."
(Sorry its short.)
(Your reply? Nah, it's all good, as long as it's not a one-liner. I legit joined an RP last week, and when they started, it was literally all one-liners, and it was an RP with just a bunch of gay guys, which would've been great had they not all jumped to stereotypes. So I just kind of disappeared.)
It's alright, dear, Nox replied, stretching her wings a little bit, It's probably better this way.
She soared ahead and landed in the clearing Quincy had found.
Aurelius was slumped over Riven's back. His face had gone pale- even more so than normal.
(Oof)
Quincy landed in the clearing and hopped off Jade stretching. She had been riding for a while, they all had. Jade laid down and rested her head tired from the days events. Quincy scanned around the clearing looking for intruders.
Nox was close enough to the ground that Mara kind of just rolled off Nox's wong and landed in the grass rolling a few times. Riven slowed down and Mara ran over to Aurelius. *Riven lay down so it's easier to get him down. Riven did as Mara told him and laid down. "Aurelius, come on let's get you off and on to the ground."
Quincy rushed to her supplies searching for her medical equipment. She was an alchemist, healing was just part of the title sometimes. Jade reminded her Top pocket.
"Thanks."
Aurelius swung his legs around to get off Riven's back, and he felt dizzy at first- like the whole world was spinning around him. He knelt down on the ground to ride it out, but it didn't help. His breathing began to quicken a little bit- just enough that he was able to notice, but it was possible that no one else could tell.
"Lay down." Mara gently laid him in the grass and looked over to Quincy. "He's all yours." Mara knew she was now going to be of no help to him. Although she wanted to watch and learn how to do the stuff Quincy does.
Quincy had her supplies and walked over to Aurelius. She knelt down and reached into her medical bag, "It's a major cut wound correct?"
"Yeah, two of them," he replied, seeming a little short of breath, "The one on my leg isn't nearly as bad though. I think it might bruise badly too… Valkyrie is strong."
(Where are the cuts again? XD)
(Upper left arm, side of right calf)
Farron and Ysethen landed to long after the others, Farron climbed off and walked over to them, “Everything alright over here?”
(Got it thanks.)
Quincy looked at his right arm and started to apply a thick paste to it, "Sorry it may sting a little." Preventing infection was the first goal, before reaching for his bandages.
Aurelius looked over to Farron. "Yeah… It's fine."
But it was not fine. He was terrified and in pain, and he was doing his best to not show it, because if he cracked under pressure, that would definitely lower everyone's morale.
Quincy tightly wound the bandages around the wounded area. The applied pressure should stop most, if not all bleeding. definitely keeping an eye on that one. She moved down to the one on his lower calf.
Aurelius winced a little as Quincy tended to his wounds. He hoped that this would be enough to stop the blood flow, because he'd already lost a good bit.
"Uh… thanks, Quincy," he muttered.
(I just thought about something while I was researching how to properly portray blood loss and very early stage hypovolemic shock. Does anyone else feel faint when getting their blood pressure taken and the cuff tightens around their arm? It makes me feel like I'm going to pass out, and idk if that's normal, because no one ever talks about it.)
(Ummm, I'm not sure.)
Quincy gave him a quick smile before finishing up on his calf. She sat back wiping her hands on her riding pants, "No problem. I would rather no one else die today."
"Did you see what happened?" he asked, referring to Valkyrie in particular, "I still can't believe it."
He wove his fingers together and hid his face in his hands.
"What happened? Did she turn against us?" Quincy moved back to Jade packing the supplies back into it's holding bag.
"Why else wouldn't she be here?" he asked, "She has no reason to stay back and help the village. She's never been the heroic type. I should've just let it go. She was going to let me get away, then I lashed out, so she did this." Aurelius was shaking his head. "I just can't understand why…"
Quincy shrugged as she sat against Jade, "I don't know. Everybody has there reasons, but I do feel hurt she chose that weird dude over her friends."
"Weird dude?" Aurelius asked, "Who…?"
He thought for a second. Still no one came to mind.
The man who couldn't talk to his dragon? Nox asked.
"Yeah, the one who kept trying to kidnap Mara," Quincy said, "It seemed like he was the one who lead the attack."
"Oh yeah… That guy. I was so focused on Val that I kind of forgot about him," Aurelius admitted.
His head was a little cloudy, though he didn't want to admit it.
Quincy moved back over placing her hand on his forehead to check for a temperature, "I don't blame you. You had other problems to worry about."
"I mean, if we want to get technical, I'm partially to blame for her turning. But also, the reasoning she gave was still unjustified. She's lost it. She can't get over the death of one person she loved. And trust me. I know how that feels, but never, not in a million years, would I have turned and helped in slaying a whole village."
Aurelius wiped a little sweat from his forehead. "Gods, I feel terrible."
Quincy pulled her hand back, "You look terrible too. Stop talking and get some rest. I did what I could for now. Now do yourself a favor."
Aurelius nodded. Nox walked over and curled around him to try comforting him, but he was still feeling like his whole world was ending. In a way it was. That village was the only place he'd ever lived.
