Ty sat across from her folding his hands in front of him. "I have have good news and bad news which do you want to hear first?" It didn't matter to him, she was going to feel sad either way, and hopefully happy. Nerves started to race through his body.

She thought for a moment. "Hmm. Bad and then happy." It was better to fall and then be lifted up than vice versa. It did worry her that there was bad news, but if there's good news…

Ty took a deep breath and grabbed Kate's hand. "Kate, I only have about five years to live," It hurt him him to say this to her, he didn't want her to cry, well at least not sad tears.

Every happy this inside of her faded. "No." Her throat started to close. "No." She closed her eyes, placing her head in her palm. The world seemed to spin as she tried to process it. "No." Her eyes filled with tears and she began to cry. "No, please no. Gosh, no." Her entire body was shaking. Why? Why him?

"Hey, hey." Ty took her hands away from head. He's pretty much accepted it. There was nothing he could do, so no use in being down all the time. "Don't worry, I have something that will hopefully make you feel better, want to hear it. Well I guess it's not reall news, but it is something good."

"How can you be so calm?" Her voice is shaky and fragile, yet firm. "Just five years and…" A sob escaped her lips. "I just-" she kept her sobs in and attempted to calm down. "What's the good news?"

Vash felt the words hit her almost as if they where a knife, long term. that's all it took to send her into a rage that she's sure she'd never cool from. his father did this. His- stupid. she put her head in her hands. She didn't want this life for Blue. She didn't want it for anyone. In Vash's eyes he deserved happiness. No one deserved being deaf because of a father, no one.

The doctor said quietly to Vash, “He’ll be back in a jiffy. And I’m… I’m very sorry.” Blue just followed behind the doctor to the x-ray room, Blue found out because of the bone posters, and the doctor prepped and examined him, saying a few words. Blue wished the doctor wouldn’t do that -talk when it was just them- the man knew Blue couldn’t hear the words. Blue was led back to Vash, and the doctor left again, with words to Vash, “The X-rays will take a bit to develop, I’ll be back shortly with them.”

Ty stood up and got down on one knee in front of her. "Kate, we only have a few months till graduation. And I can't imagine spending the next five years with. You're kind, smart, beautiful and I'm sure my sister would love to have you as a sister." He laughed a bit at that part. He pulled a little box from his pocket and opened it. "Kate, I love you, will you marry me?" Ty knew it was a bit fast, but if he didn't do it now it might be to late.

"Right…" Vash held Blues hand and gave him a small smile, everything's going to be okay. how'd it go? she wrote on her arm releasing blue's hand reluctantly. any news on…well anything?

Kate looked at him, honestly surprised. "I-" Of course. "How can you ask me that?! You just told me you had five years to live! I love you too much Ty!" She wasn't sure why it made her so angry. If anything, she'd want to be by his side all five years, never leaving. Sobs sprung up her throat. She ran away into the rain, falling to the ground, soaking as she cried.

“I don’t know… I couldn’t hear,” He coughed a bit at the last part, trying to hide the hint of anger meant towards the doctor. I should be happy, I’m lucky to have lost my hearing, I’m not dying. It’s no big deal, and- Blue made a little choked noise, trying to stop the tears that inevitably fell, “Vash, I- I’m sorry for wasting you time, I’m sorry I’m crying, it’s not that big a deal-“ Blue was cut off by his own sob, and he bit his tongue as he tried to reign it in.

Ty closed the box and went back after her. That was not how I planned it, but her reaction was understandable. "Kate." Ty bent down next to her. "I understand how you feel, but wouldn't you rather spend that time with me being happy, because that's what I want." He pulled her close and hugged her. "But, if you don't want to because you will suffer to much, then please just end it with me so it won't be painful for me as well."

Vash held his face in her hands and spoke hoping he could understand. "No you're not wasting my time. I look back at the moment we met and I wouldnt change it for anything, I love you." Vash felt a slight shake go threw her, no you can't cry too. "its the biggest deal ever, you've been threw so much. And I can promise that's all over, everything is looking up from here." She'd made a promise she wasn't even sure she could keep.

She sunk into his arms. "No," she was still in tears, "I do. I want to. I love you Ty. I will, yes. I will marry you Ty." She was still crying, but it was a mix of sad and happy. "I love you so much, Ty."

Vash held his face in her hands and spoke hoping he could understand. "No you're not wasting my time. I look back at the moment we met and I wouldnt change it for anything, I love you." The world stopped. Started. Stopped again. No, don’t- “S-Say that again?” Blue swallowed a hard lump, staring in Vash’s beautiful eyes, watching. Searching.

"I love you." Vash said tears finally escaping her eyes. Her emotions finally betraying her. "Gosh I love you so much and you don't diserve this."

"I love you too." Now they are soaking wet and all muddy. "Sorry, I was hoping this would go better, but I guess I didn't do a very good job." He stood and picked Kate up with him. "So, do you want me to put the ring on?"

"I just. I don't want you to leave." Ahe was shaking a little in her arms. She nodded a little. She knew she wanted to spend the rest of yet life with him, not just a part of it.

"I know. It's selfish of me, can you please smile." He laid his head on her shoulder and tried his best not to cry along with. Ty thought he was fine, but when Kate mentioned it, it just made him more sad.

She looked up at him a gave shaky smile, tears still running down her cheeks. "I love you so much, Ty. It's not selfish. I just-" her chest seemed to explode, "I just don't want to lose you."

"I know." Ty was crying but hoped it looked like it was just the rain running down his face. "Oh, here." He pulled the ring out again and slipped it on Kate's finger. "Hopefully you like it. Serra helped me pick it out."

Kate smiled through her tears. It sparkled even in the rain. "I love it." She looked up and saw his tears mixing with the rain. She brought his forehead to hers and closed her eyes. "I love you."

"I love you too, so much!" A smiled appeared on his face and he kissed her again. "You're not mad that I made you skip you school right?" He laughed trying to lift the mood.

She laughed with him. Despite the cold rain, his lips were warm. "Screw school." She laughed again.

"I love you." Vash said tears finally escaping her eyes. Her emotions finally betraying her. "Gosh I love you so much and you don't diserve this."

Blue let out a breath, it almost sounded like a sob, as he held her face in her hands. I wanted to hear you. He cried, but this time they weren’t tears of desperation. He leaned forward placing his forehead against Vash’s, “Love… I can hear you.”

"You can- you can hear me?" Vash had a look of shock on her face and even more in her voice. "Oh my gosh Blue. You can hear me?" She sounded almost as if she too started crying. "I- don't ever let anyone hurt you again." Her voice cracked slightly and then the tears came. "Don't ever."

Blue pulled her closer with his good arm, kissed her as happy tears fell silently from his eyes. Gosh, her voice… Blue hadn’t realized how much he loved it, how much he loved her.

Vash knew she was crying too and that her tears had met his at their lips. "Don't ever let anyone hurt you again." She said between kisses. Her phone always seemed to ring at the worst times but she didn't mind. With out even pulling away she reached into her pocket to decline the call. "I love you." She said, and if she could have she'd have repeated it over and over again,but all she wanted to do was kiss Blue.
