Halo looks at Bastian. "I think I can walk…" He says softly when he sees the building. He was nervous, but he wanted to be less of a burden to Bastian.
Halo looks at Bastian. "I think I can walk…" He says softly when he sees the building. He was nervous, but he wanted to be less of a burden to Bastian.
"You don't have to," Bastian told him gently. "I don't mind carrying you, and you probably shouldn't be walking after getting hurt like that."
Halo nods and sighs, returning to holding onto Bastian. "Why did I have to touch that necklace?" He whispers, resting against Bastian.
"Because our jewelry is usually made with spells that draw your attention. My father was an alchemist and a blacksmith, and he made that necklace to draw the eye," Bastian explained
Halo nods and sighs, "But now we're here, in this big mess and there's…" He sighs. "There's no point in getting stressed."
"It's not your fault, angel," Bastian soothed, pressing a kiss to his forehead before righting himself. "I should have kept it in a safer place. It's okay. It's not your fault." Even as he spoke, Bastian couldn't help but worry. If Halo died and went to the afterlife human, he would never see him again. And that would be torture for him
Halo nods, feeling weak and sickly. "Ngh… I don't feel good…" He mutters. " 'M so tired…"
Bastian immediately felt worried when Halo spoke up. He knew why Halo was feeling bad–he had felt that way once before. "Don't worry baby, we're almost there," he soothed
Halo nods and nuzzles into Bastian. "Can I sleep?" He asks softly.
"Yeah baby, you can sleep. Don't you worry about a thing," Bastian soothed. The gondola slowed to a stop, where the strange person from before was now standing atop the railing. Up close, he appeared almost identical to Luno, which was almost offputting
Halo nods and shuts his eyes, easily falling asleep.
Bastian stepped out of the gondola, and he looked over at the Luno-lookalike a bit suspiciously. Though he realized eventually that he wasn't looking at Luno. "Welcome to the palace, Bastian. Though you'll be staying in the observatory with me while we monitor your friend," the man said. He sounded like he wasn't too fond of Bastian, which was understandable. The taller man had dated the lookalike's twin, after all
Happy groans softly, tilting his head into Bastians shoulder as he slept. He felt sick, even in his sleeping state.
Bastian just nodded and followed the lookalike across the metal stairs that led up the mountain. It split off onto a large gold-covered plateau, which appeared to be carved into the mountain itself
Halo slept, turning his head every so often, a pained look on his face.
The lookalike led them to an enormous observatory, and Bastian stepped inside once he had opened the door. He was led to rest Halo on an elevated bed in the main area, but was then shooed away from Halo
Halo vaguely feels himself placed on the table, and whimpers when Bastian left his side, but he could only weakly watch Bastian leave.
Bastian pulled up a chair a few feet away from the table while the lookalike began going about grabbing strange-colored liquids and such from different shelves around them
Halo bites his lip, watching as the people walk around, grabbing a few things. He wasn't fond of the Luno look alike, since it brought up raw memories, but he dealt with it.
The man eventually returned to where Halo was laying, his arms full of various vials of liquids. He pushed his monocle up on his face before looking at him. "My name is Michaelo, or Poncho if that's difficult to remember. I'm an alchemist who's been studying the cure for what you are infected with for roughly 2,500 years."
Halo gulps and nods slowly, wincing a small bit as his broken bones crack. He winces in pain before taking a breath.
Poncho mixed a few things before handing a flask to Halo. "Drink," he said
Halo obediently opens his mouth, drinking the flask.
Poncho had him drink the whole flask before setting it aside. “The worst of your symptoms will likely be averted, but we have no idea how long it will take for the curse to choose a course.”
Halo nods and leans his head back, sighing quietly. He glances at Bastian, his eyes fluttering between open and closed.
Bastian had been watching Poncho intently, feeling protective of Halo. "Can I take him somewhere to rest now?" he asked. Poncho nodded, and Bastian walked over and scooped Halo up in his arms before beginning to walk towards the stairs
Halo grunts softly when he's picked up and he groans quietly. He sighs softly and nuzzles into Bastians shoulder. He was so tired and needed sleep.
"It's okay, you'll be okay. Just relax," Bastian soothed as he walked up the rickety stairs to the second floor. He found a large bunk bed off to the side, and he set Halo down on the bottom before lying beside him
Halo nods and tries to relax, hissing in pain as his bones are jostled. He wasn't sure what had broken, but it hurt.
Bastian wrapped himself around Halo in a protective manner, being sure to avoid where he thought the other hurt. "I'm sorry about all this," he mumbled
