Vin gazed around and walked away from the licking flower. “Hmm… do you know if there are any Dragons here?”

"Hard to say. My species is very reclusive, and not all of them are dragons in the conventional sense. Usually dragons and wyverns are allowed to choose their realm, and many prefer our version of purgatory."

Vin rolled his eyes at the dragon. “You’re very negative, you know. I’m sure we could find one around here somewhere.”

"I'm not negative, I'm factual. Would you rather I lie and say that this realm is populated by massive beasts such as myself instead of rabbits and toads?" Baal scoffed

Vin laughed gently. “No, I’m just saying in general. Negative. You saying that just proves it more. Anyway. Let’s walk around.”

Baal gave him a look before looking around. The occasional bug or bird would fly around them, though they all seemed to be either a whitish color or some pastel pink or blue

Vin wandered around idly, poking at the occasional licking flower he came across.
“These things are so odd.”

“They’re an old species of flower. You don’t see them often anymore,” Baal said, looking around and idly poking flowers with his tail

“Well yeah. I think people would be freaking out if their petunia just started licking them.”

Baal chuckled a bit at that. “I don’t find it particularly odd. In my city they were as popular as roses,” he hummed before laughing softly when one licked his nose

Vin hummed. “I would’ve rathered these than roses. They’re very pretty.”

Baal nodded and poked at a few, which tried to lick him as he passed. Up ahead the flowers began to give way to more pale shrubbery and tall pine trees

Vin left the last licking flower and gazed around at the pale underbrush. “What do we do now, Baal?”

"We appear to be near one of the shrine gates," Baal said, looking around and sniffing the air curiously as he padded through the oddly pale foliage. Up ahead, the tops of a white shrine gate stood tall over the path

Vin gazed up at it as it appeared. “Shrine gates…? What do they do?”

"They mark the entrance of an Oniko's shrine," Baal answered. He looked up at the gate a tad warily before taking a step through it

“Okay, cool, but what the heck is that?” Vin followed Baal.

"Oniko are powerful spirits that were once trapped in this realm. They have all been freed as far as I'm aware, though some still live in Osiris," Baal answered

“Oniko? What are they?” Vin looked at Baal as he walked.

"Different things. Some were warriors, some were kindred spirits. Some were even like me, I hear," Baal answered

Vin blinked. “Cool. Cool, but weird…” He paused as they approached the gate.

Baal gave him a look before stopping before the gate. There was a symbol carved into the material at the top of the large gate, and he craned his neck to look at it. "I'm not sure I recognize this insignia…" he thought aloud

Vin gazed up at it. “That’s… hmm… I recognize it.” He grinned at Baal.

(Bro I don’t want to get it wrong, what is it?)

(it's the insignia of a spirit named Isthet. he's kinda like a two headed dragon that has like an ice theme)

"You do?" Baal asked, his head tilting curiously as he looked down at Vin

(Neat)

Vin nodded. “I saw it in the book I was reading. Isthet, the two headed dragon who breaths ice instead of fire.”

Baal's eyes widened at that. "Oh. Well in that case, I suppose we might have a chance of asking him how to get home," he mused, not knowing Vin's real goal of getting himself a dragon

Vin shrugged. “I guess we could. I think we should look around first, though.” He looked around.

"Well, we're already here. We might as well ask," Baal suggested

Vin sighed. “Sure, let’s go in, then.”

Baal padded through the gate, and almost immediately the temperature seemed to drop. Baal seemed unaffected however as he walked further down the path
