Vin made a loud squeak like a guinea pig, but didn’t tear off the choker, no matter how much he wanted to.
Vin made a loud squeak like a guinea pig, but didn’t tear off the choker, no matter how much he wanted to.
“Are you going to stop squirming now?” came a voice. It was low and rich, not hinting at gender. Baal’s eyes fixed on Vin, seemingly staring right through him
Vin snapped up to look at Baal. “What is this thing?”
“It allows me to communicate with you,” the voice continued. Though the voice seemed to somehow belong to Baal, who was still looking intently at Vin
“This is so fucking weird… am I in a dream or something?” He looked around as if waiting for one of the crystals to form into a human and scream “April fools!” even though it wasn’t April.
"No, you are speaking to the Vallha right in front of you via the item around your neck. For a demon, you are very dense," the voice huffed
Vin glared at Baal angrily. “You shut your face! Just because I may be a Demon, doesn’t mean I have to know what’s going on!”
"Well excuse me for assuming your species was intelligent," Baal said with a roll of his eyes. "Now if you're done, getting out of this blasted forest should be our number one priority."
“I don’t even know what this place is!” Vin exclaimed angrily, throwing his arms up. “I just want to go back to the beach!”
“Well, we can’t. Not until we at least reach Osiris, if we can get there before the Meltwood senses your distress,” Baal answered
“hhHhuJjhhUu senses whAT? THIS PLACE CAN SENSE MY DISTRESS?”
“Alright, that’s it, no more talking for you,” Baal grumbled before picking him up and setting him on his back
Vin angrily smacked the hard scales on the dragon’s back. “Explain what’s going on! I almost drown then you bring me here??”
"I saved you, for one. And two, you're being annoying. The forest has ears, and you are screaming into them," Baal grumbled as he continued along the stairs
“yEah Vien and I did too until you screamed them off!” Vin shot back, smacking Baal’s scales again.
"Because you're both obnoxious. Now be quiet already, or I'll mute you," Baal threatened
“fUckING DO IT THEN! MUTE ME!” Vin smacked Baal’s scales pointlessly.
Baal growled and reached back with his tail, smacking Vin upside the head and pressing a button on the choker in the process. "Congratulations, you are officially muted until I hit that button again."
Vin mutely screamed, his mouth gaping open and his tongue flailing. As predicted, nothing came out. Instead, he went on to hit Baal’s scales, hoping to make a loud noise.
Baal just smacked him upside the head with the tip of his tail and growled in warning. "You are acting like a child. I took an oath of silence when I guarded my city, and I was mute for more than a million years."
Vin glared angrily down at the dragon. He flicked him off but stopped flailing.
"Child," Baal huffed before looking up ahead. The stairs seemed to be coming to an end at a large stone platform, where a large, intricate metal door sat
(oHmy gOd tHat’s Four)
Vin glared around at himself, ignoring the beauty and hating everything in turn. He sat there stubbornly, crossing his arms.
(lmao)
They reached the door, and Baal nudged at it. He stood back, expecting it to open, but it didn't. "Odd," he commented absently before sniffing around the metal
Vin ignored Baal’s predicament, vowing silently he wouldn’t help the dragon, even if he made him.
Baal gave a huff before reaching around and grabbing Vin off his back. He plopped him down on the platform before nudging the button that allowed Vin to speak. "I need you to open the door, or at least touch it. For some reason it's not recognizing me."
Vin shook his head. “No,” He said loudly, stepping away from the door.
Baal growled low in his throat and grabbed Vin around the middle in his maw. He then pressed him against the door. "Open it," he growled
“I will not open it!” Vin exclaimed breathlessly, being smushed up onto the hard metal.
"You will, if you want to survive," Baal snarled. "Open it!"
