Vin nodded. “Alright, whatever you say…”

(Dude i just thought of this, what if Vin got swept away with Baal in a wave and in order to get back he went through the Spirit Realm?)

(ooo, that would make sense. there are these sort of openings to the various afterlives called the Meltwood where basically it appears as a sort of melted forest and underwater there are these caves that are lined with green crystals that are a part of the Meltwood and if you go into one of the caves you usually pop up in the middle of the Meltwood, which basically is what surrounds all the afterlives)

Baal nudged him with his nose before yapping and gesturing further out to sea

(tHaT iS sO cOoL what if there were like spirits of people who had died there? Also the reason I persistantly bring this up is that I want a dragon pup too xD. I already have him planned and everythinggggggg. I don’t wanna do something wrong, though. Is there a chance that Vin would find a baby dragon?)

Vin rolled his eyes. “Alright, Baal…” He waded deeper and deeper upon Baal’s instruction until he had to swim to stay upright.
“Baal, I think we should go back… these waves are really high and-“ Vin felt himself cut off as he was ripped underwater; a riptide.

(well the creatures that live in the Meltwood are usually affected by a specific parasite called the Phantom Jade. the jade is what makes up the Meltwood and the crystals, but there are certain species that are resistant to the parasite and are able to sort of turn it into something they can use. so maybe on the way through the Meltwood they could find a baby dragon in the forest, or when they get to one of the afterlives)

Baal only managed to yelp before the wave swept over them. He grabbed onto Vin's shoulders, grasping them with all seven limbs as he struggled to stay with Vin. He opened his eyes, a few bubbles streaming from his mouth. He didn't need to breathe, so he wasn't too bothered

Vin, however, did need to breath, but he stayed limp against the forceful current. His body screamed for oxygen as he held his eyes and breath, fighting not to take an inhale of the water. He felt himself spiraling… spiraling… deepening into unconciousness as his brain shut down…

(lol yeah, my storyline is focused a lot on specific systems and universes so I have a lot of it thought out)

Baal's eyes widened when he realized that Vin wasn't moving. He let out a muffled yowl before grabbing him by the ankle in his maw. He closed his eyes for a moment in focus before his form seemed to grow and shift. Within seconds his form was almost three times as large as Vin, though he appeared a bit more streamlined. Realizing he wouldn't be able to get back to shore, he took Vin and swam towards the ocean floor. His eyes widened when he spotted familiar green crystals, and he followed them until he found a gaping cave

The moment they broke air (by the way you described the caves they have oxygen so i’m going with that. If not I’ll change it) Vin stirred and gasped for air, his eyes flying open. His chest heaved as he fought for air, coughing and spluttering.

Baal whined in a worried manner, and he nosed Vin's chest with his far larger muzzle as he tried to make sure the other was okay

Vin screamed briefly at the larger muzzle, the scream echoing. “B-Baal?” Vin looked up slowly.
“Where… where are we? Did you save me?”

Baal had looked annoyed at first when Vin screamed, but after he composed himself he nodded and plopped down beside him

Vin stood up shakily, shivering all over. “It’s… it’s so cold! Where are we, Baal?”

Baal gave another huff before turning a circle in the strange cave. There were bright green crystals lining bits of the rock, and after a moment Baal grabbed a large one in his maw and snapped it off. He then walked to the end of the seemingly small cave and set it in a pedestal of sorts towards the end. Glyphs glowed to life in that same green on the walls and floor, though above them floated English translations. They all appeared to be warnings, of turning back from the Meltwood

“Meltwood..?” Vin asked, holding his arms close to his body. “What the hell is Meltwood?” Vin jogged over to the dragon, not wanting to leave his giant side.
“And are we going in there? It just warned us not to!”

Baal huffed and nodded. He walked over to the pedestal again before pushing it back with ease. It revealed a long, dark stone staircase, and he wiggled through before increasing the brightness of the orange lights on his body to light the way

Vin ran after Baal, already panting and heaving. “Baal! Baal! Could I ride you or something, please?”

Baal flicked his tail and grumbled as he stretched to try and show that he barely fit through the hall. He kept descending, though he slowed his pace

Vin nodded and watched as his breath drifted in front of him as they walked. “Oh god… how much longer do we have, Baal?” Vin called after a few minutes of walking that felt like years.

Baal eventually squeezed through an opening and out into what appeared to be a vast plateau. The edges were covered in the same green crystal, and when they looked up there appeared to be trees growing from the ceiling of the cavern and walls

Vin gazed up at the ceiling, transfixed at the eerie green glow the trees got from the crystals.
“What…what…?” Vin’s words failed him as he stumbled stupidly after Baal.

Annoyed, Baal just grabbed Vin in his maw and placed him on his back. There was a twisting staircase that led out from the plateau, but it seemed to spiral with the twirled trees and cavern. Upon closer inspection the trees appeared black, with the only color being green leaves the same color as the crystal. The trunks seemed melted together, with green shining through the whorls in the wood

Vin let out a yelp as Baal lifed him up easily, his legs skimming the surface of one of the crystals on the roof of the cave. He hugged Baal's back carefully so he didn't bump his head on the ceiling, yet still looked around like a child in a candy-shop.

Baal began to walk along the twisted staircase, seemingly defying gravity as he managed to stay on it even when they were upside down. His tail wagged a bit behind him, and he looked around a bit warily

Vin glanced around, too scared to make a peep. He didn't want to ask Baal anything but this lack of information was starting to unsettle him.
"B-Baal? What-"

Baal just huffed and gave him a look. Once they reached a stairless platform, he plopped down on the stone and grabbed Vin. He set him on the stone before nuzzling at the space around the ax wedged in his chest, the scales around it turning a warm orange

Vin looked up and noticed the ax with a look. "What's that, Baal? You didn't have that…" He felt his voice die again then he looked at his feet.

(oof I keep forgetting to mention stuff with Baal, but he's got like a double bladed ax wedged in his chest with the blade poking out the front. kinda important to his character but I'm forgetful and keep mentioning things sorry)

Baal huffed and gave him a look before seemingly grabbing something out of the now almost red-hot scales around the ax. He took what appeared to be an odd necklace out, though it was more of a futuristic choker with a gap in what would be the front of the neck. He took it in his maw before gesturing for Vin with it

Vin glanced up then gave the other a look. "You want me to wear that?" He gave the choker an aggrieved look.
"I know I'm gay but not that gay."

Baal gave him an unamused growl before nudging Vin's forehead with the end of the choker. He didn't seem to want to argue about Vin not wanting to wear it

Vin ignored the obvious signs and flailed his arms at the choker resistantly. "No! I'm not wearing that thing! It was inside you!"

Baal gave an exhasperated growl before just jamming it onto Vin’s neck
