(Ya, I knew it. Lol)
"Anxious," Kitty admitted, looking out the window.
(Ya, I knew it. Lol)
"Anxious," Kitty admitted, looking out the window.
(Lol. It's complicated…)
"Yeah, I get that. I was anxious, too, when I first found out. But I quickly got over it by stealing my sister's stuff," Courtney laughed.
Avery glared at her sister in the rearview mirror. "Yeah. That wasn't cool, by the way."
"I don't have siblings," Kitty sighed, looking from Courtney to her sister.
Both girls raised their eyebrows.
"Oh…" Avery said. "Well, we're pretty different from most siblings."
"I can tell," Kitty said, quickly covering her mouth afterwards.
Avery laughed. "I just meant that we tend to get along better. But, yes, we're different in that way, too. And I'm guessing you might be, as well, if my sister is bringing you to NEST."
Kitty blinked and looked out the window again. "Apparently."
Avery's attention went back to driving.
"So… Has anything weird happened to you lately? I mean, besides today," Courtney asked.
(Is she talking to Kitty?)
(Yup.)
(Okay, wasn't sure if it was Avery.)
"No," Kitty answered truthfully.
"Huh. Weird."
What am I? The question hovered around in her head, taunting, tormenting her. There was no clear answer. Yet.
Courtney stared out the window, confused.
Kitty looked at Avery. "Are we almost there?"
"Just a few more minutes," the older girl replied.
Kitty purred quietly in the back of her throat. It was just something she did when she was bored.
(Same.)
They finally pulled up outside of a large silver building with a lot of windows.
"We're here!" Courtney exclaimed.
Kitty gulped. "It looks… intimidating."
Avery chuckled. "Don't be too worried about it. It's actually a really cool place, especially if you really like science or technology.
Kitty's eyes lit up. She was a technology wiz.
Courtney saw the look and laughed. "Great, you're going to steal her from me to go look at your new toys, aren't you?" she jokingly said to her sister.
Kitty lowered her gaze. "Uh, sorry…"
"It's fine," Courtney laughed. "I was just kidding."
Avery parked and trend to face the other girls. "Text me when you're ready to leave, okay Court?"
Courtney nodded. "Yup."
Kitty looked at Courtney. "You're confusing."
"What? How?" Courtney asked.
"I think you're serious all the time, but you're not."
"Really? Weird…" Courtney trailed off, looking thoughtful.
"A-Are you serious? Cause you look serious."
"What? I'm just thinking…" Courtney said, looking confused.
