"Yeah, yeah," Bastian chuckled, waving him off as he followed after Halo

Halo laughs softly and shakes his head, he hurries ahead.

Bastian walked after him, Avie bouncing around happily and wagging her tail excitedly

Halo laughs and finds the hill he always went to. "Here, look! I can see the lake from here."

Bastian walked up with him, smiling as he did so. Though when he caught sight of the water his face fell just about immediately. A flash of painful memories made their way through his mind, but he quickly ignored it

Halo grabs his hand gently and kisses his hand gently. "Are you alright?" He asks gently.

"What?" Bastian asked, snapping out of his daze. "Oh, yeah, yeah, I'm fine," he assured him with a forced smile

Halo tilts his head in concern. "We can sit on the opposite side. We can see the city from there." He says quietly.

"No, no, you like the lake, it's fine," Bastian assured him. "We're all good, really."

Halo shakes his head, smiling a little. "C'mon." He walks towards the other side and points. "See?" It was indeed the city.

"Yeah, but now we're not near the lake, and you wanted to be by the lake," Bastian complained

Halo chuckles. "I really don't mind, Bastian." He says, kissing Bastian gently.

"C'mon, we're going back to the lake. As long as I don't have to go within ten feet of the water, I'll be good," Bastian said before tugging him back towards the lake

"Bastian…" Halo says softly, then sighs and follows him.

"Alrighty, here we go. Nice hill, nice large body of water far, far away from us. See? I am perfectly fine," Bastian said, though he was muttering a lot more to himself

Halo nods and gently kisses his cheek. "Alright." he says softly. He allows Avie off her leash, but she stays close. He grabs the food and sets it out before sitting on the blanket, "Join me." He says softly.

Bastian plopped down next to him, casting a last glance at the water before directing his attention to Halo

Halo smiles a little. "You're safe." He says gently, kissing the other gently. "I'll always pull you out, no matter how far you sink." He whispers.

(yeah, Bastian got kind of drowned when he was little lol. also something I have of yet to explain bc Bastian has a very complex backstory and has a bunch of repressed emotions I have of yet to show in this rp)

Bastian let his eyes fall shut when Halo kissed him, melting a little when he did so. He gave a soft chuckle at Halo's words, pecking him on the nose in response

(… I can't exactly relate since I adore water…)

Halo smiles softly, cupping his cheek gently, running his thumb across Bastians cheek. "God that was cheesy." Halo mutters, laughing. "But I meant it." He whispers, hugging Bastian gently.

(water parks are also cool lol)

"That's okay," Bastian murmured, nestling his face in the crook of Halo's neck as he wrapped his arms around him. "Your kind of cheesy is cute."

Halo rolls his eyes at the cute part, but allows himself to melt into the affection. He sighs softly, running a hand through Bastians hair.

Bastian wrapped his arms a bit more around Halo' rubbing at his back idly as he did so. Avie gave a soft whine and nuzzled between them to place her head in Halo's lap

Halo pulls away and laughs. "You want attention to girl?" He laughs gently, ruffling her fur. She barks. Halo laughs and grabs a ball, waving it in front of her nose.
