"Well, god damn," Cyrus said, looking over Alex, "I thought he was out of the woods. Never should have left his side…"
"Well, god damn," Cyrus said, looking over Alex, "I thought he was out of the woods. Never should have left his side…"
“I-Is s-something w-wrong?” Luna asked him. Her voice was involuntarily shaking and the stutter continued to get worse.
"I'm not sure. If he's been in and out, that's one thing, but if he's been passed out for an hour or two, that's not good," Cyrus said, crouching next to Alex's bed. "I doubt it's anything that can't be fixed, though." Except that last part was a lie.
Luna frowned slightly, but nodded before slipping into the background of the room. She needed to let others do their work to help him.
Cyrus started walking around the infirmary, questioning people who had tended to Alex. The general consensus seemed to be that he had stirred a little bit, probably woken up at some point, but eventually gave in. Cyrus hoped it was true.
He approached Luna. "It's… I think he's fine…" Cyrus was a little out of breath and nervous, but he still felt mostly relieved.
Luna nodded letting herself relax slightly, “O-Okay. Th-thank you.”
Alex woke from his comatose state in both fear and pain. He clutched his chest trying to remember where he was.
Luna walked over to Alex. She had seen him move quickly, “A-Alex?”
Alex flinched at the mention of his name. His eyes were wild with fear but they relaxed when he saw Luna "Oh… sorry…" he muttered as he slowly sat up. "Nightmare…" he rubbed the spots where his ribs were cracked. He looked around the infirmary "What time is it?"
“O-oh. I-It’s late now,” Luna looked down, “A-Are you doing better?”
Cyrus quickly made a move to replace the ice pack that was resting over Alex’s broken ribs.
Trying to intrude on their conversation as little as possible, he asked, “Hey, do you think you need some more pain medicine?”
Alex looked to Cyrus "Yeah, thanks… everything still feels like I've been hit by a truck."
Cyrus frowned. "Yeah… I know… Sorry, man."
He went into one of the cabinets and picked up a bottle of pills, then handed two to Alex, along with the glass of water that had been at his bedside.
"The pain should be the worst part though. Your outlook for all of this seems good."
As Alex swallowed the pills, he brushed the stitches that held his wounds closed. "Sorry if I scared everyone, also sorry I stained your clothes." he joked.
"Blood washes out. Sorrow doesn't… You made it, you'll heal, and that's what's important. Forget the fact that you scared us… we didn't even know for sure you were alive," Cyrus said, "I'm glad you made it back to us, even if you were on your last legs."
"Basically the same here, I was afraid Panther found the bunker. Thankfully he's dumber than a pile of shit." He glanced around the infirmary again "Jesus this place is huge."
"So that bastard is still kicking, huh?" Cyrus said, with a sort of growling undertone.
"Uh, yeah… it took a lot of time, but Eira and I built this ourselves… With a little help of course."
"Awesome, as for Panther, the bastard came in from time to time and tried to carve the information out of me." he motioned to the stab wounds. "Did these himself."
"You lucky dog…" Cyrus muttered, "It's a wonder he didn't actually kill you. I hope that one day, he gets tenfold the harm he has inflicted on others."
"Yeah, well, moving on from such tragedy. Did anything large happen while I was being held?"
"I mean… we built this up," Cyrus said, "but you already see that."
"Yeah… how is she, Eria, I mean?" You sound so desperate that it's pathetic
(Sorry I had a rough day yesterday. I'll be on in a little bit.)
(It's ok)
(It's fine! Take all the time you need.)
"She's doing well, I think…" Cyrus said, "She's been such a driving force behind this cause, but barely acknowledges it."
Eira looked up at him like he was slightly crazy but soon a small smile spread across her lips, “Thankyou…” He restedbher head back against the wall, bringing her knees to her chest, “I just… I feel like I’m not good enough to be here. That I need to try harder and prove myself again and again. Alex and Luna got captured, and what did I do? I didn’t do anything I try and see if they were alive and just presumed them dead… I can’t let it happen again…”
"Although I'm new, I'm here for all of you." He took a few more hits and was glad he didn't wear his shirt since he was sweating like crazy. Walking over he sat down in front of her and smiled. "I can't think of anyone better for this job. You know how to keep calm in difficult situations and you know how to take lead. And with Alex and Luna, no one could really do anything, they didn't tell us where they were going. We won't let it happen again, you have everyone here to help you. I'm sorry I wasn't here when you needed me and Sparrow the most, well more Sparrow." He laughed and took a drink.
Eira nudged Uriah with her foot playfully, “I need you both equally. It’s just hard when I want everything to go back to the way it was in someways. Yet in others not. If it did I wouldn’t know you but… if it did Luna and Akex wouldn’t have gone through torture.”
"That's just how things are, there's nothing we can do. I think about of Zhavia would be alive if we hadn't met, then you would still have her, all of you would. I know she could be hard to deal with, but she wasn't a bad girl." He smiled again but this time it was more sad. If he hadn't fallen in love with her she would still be alive. "But I've accepted it for the most part. If I didn't meet her I wouldn't have met some of my best friends."
Eira sighed through her nose and looked towards her lap, “I still… hadn’t accepted it. I was rude to her and couldn’t forgive her for going through with a mission, let alone threatening Panther. Now she’s dead, and I can’t even say sorry.”
"Sure you can." He stood and held out a hand. "If you'd like, do you want to go take a ride? It will help you clear your mind as well. If not, that's okay as well." All he wanted was for everyone to feel better again. And if he could help he would, for as long as he was here at least. Prince needed to be ridden anyway.
