Cyrus had now started walking towards the door. "Hard to say for anyone else… We're very much like siblings, most of us. Then again, we were raised together."

Luna trailed after him, her hood being pulled up higher on her head, "Y-yeah it can be, but I definitely th-think you get the role of f-father. I-It's just too uncanny."

Cyrus just laughed. "Me? Dad? Your boy can barely even dress himself."

"W-well your more responsible than Alex or U-Uriah," Luna laughed.

"I guess… Uriah's too old for this shit. Alex is still young… I guess I'm the only in-between," Cyrus sighed dramatically.

"Y-you really are," Luna said with a nod of her head, "P-poor Cyrus."

"Feels good to smile again. Things have been rough…" Cyrus admitted, "I'm glad we can talk like this; having a serious and meaningful conversation, then talking about Uriah being grandma and having a good laugh. It's comforting."

"I-it really is," Luna agreed with a contented exhale of air, "H-humor is best after seriousness."

"It's getting late. Do you want to grab dinner? After that, I think I'll go check on Alex again," Cyrus suggested.

"Th-that sounds good," Luna was smiling a little still thinking of the last conversation, "I-I'll come with to check on Alex too."

(Aghhhh I really want to use Cyrus for a story, but idk what….)
Cyrus started towards the mess hall again, grabbed some chicken and rice and a glass of water, and sat down at one of the tables, waiting for Luna. He was a lot hungrier than he thought.

Luna grabbed whatever food they had available at the moment. She didn't really care, food was food at this point.She walked over to where Cyrus was and sat down across from him with the food.

(I'm really working on the dragons story… I feel like a few characters already take up what would be his role… I have another story kind of sitting in the back, and I feel like he could be the love interest of one of the protagonists, but he'd also end up being a really minor character because he fits an odd role, plus he and the protagonist would probably just worry each other way too much and end up being kind of bad for each other. It's so sad… I actually took him (at least his name) from another thing I was gonna write, but I didn't like it, so I scrapped it.)
Cyrus started eating and looked across the table to Luna. "It's funny how after all these years, we're finally getting closer. I've always wondered about you, but you sometimes kept your distance, and I didn't want to annoy you."

(Ooof, that is such a hard thing to deal with. Normally if I have a character like that, I can find some small little minor role for them to fill. Or make an entirely new story just so I can use them.)

"L-los," Luna's voice was a little shaky. She took a deep breath, "L-losing Z-zoe made m-me realize I-I shouldn't have j-just been close w-with her. A-and yeah, b-back then I-I would p-probably have g-gotten annoyed."

(I feel like he'd fit better in a modern/future setting without magic of any sort. I've always wanted to write something like that, but I always find myself drifting back to medieval fantasy. Then there's one that's more in a setting similar to Fullmetal Alchemist, but they're all more in the past…)
Cyrus nodded in understanding. "I feel like I annoy everyone still, to be honest. Sometimes I act like a worried mother. It has to get on someone's nerves."

(Yeah……)

"I-I'm sure I-it does," Luna sighed with slight relief almost melting into her food, "B-but not mine y-yet."

Cyrus's eyes widened a little bit. "Well, that's a relief, if slightly surprising," he said.
He took a few sips of water while he thought of what other conversation they could have.

"Y-yep," Luna started toying with her food. She took a bite trying to think of what else they could talk about. Socializing was actually a lot of effort, and Luna wasn't expecting this.

Cyrus gave Luna a slight smile, but he was quiet for now. He didn't want to bother her… In fact, he was becoming a little self-conscious. Had he really been okay with just dumping all of his burdens on her, when she was struggling too?

"S-so you and E-eira put the whole guild together by y-yourselves?" Luna said as an attempt to make idle conversation. He looked uncomfortable, something she wasn't sure she would ever see someone other than her look like.

"Mostly, yeah. We kept up correspondence with Uriah and Sparrow for some advice, and of course, couldn't have done it without new members, but… otherwise, we built it from the ground up," Cyrus explained.

"Th-that's pretty impressive," Luna responded her eyes slightly wider, "I-It looks great."

"Thanks…" Cyrus replied, "I'm impressed we were able to do this too. It took a lot of effort on everyone's part. Hopefully it'll all pay off in the end."

"I-I'm sure it will," Luna smiled over at him, "Y-you have an amazing t-team behind you. I-It'll all work out, I know it."

"Yeah, that I do," he agreed, finishing off his drink.

"Mhm," Luna hummed finishing off the last of her food. She ran out of ideas for conversation topics again.

"Say, uh… Let's go see Alex, I guess?" Cyrus said, "He should be doing alright, but it's probably best we check anyway."

“Y-yeah,” Luna nodded standing up from the table, “W-we should do that now.”

Cyrus put away his plate and started walking towards the infirmary. Alex was still out, and he suddenly got worried. "Hey, has he straight up been unconscious this whole time?" he asked.

Luna was behind Cyrus looking worriedly at Alex. Her brows were knit together and she instinctively pulled her hood higher up on her head. She didn’t like this.
