“I’m glad I am too.” She said quietly

Rigel glanced back at Aspen, then retreated towards the door, “Well, since you’re alright… I’ll tell a nurse you woke up on my way out.” He went to open the door. I just need to get out before they mention Kate, before they bring it up again, before anything.

“Where’s my phone? It’s in a bullet proof case so it couldn’t have broken.” Aspen said. She frowned and looked at her hands. “I hate hospitals.” She said and started pulling out her IVs

Riverpaw gasped, quickly moving to grab Aspen's hands. "W-wait, Aspen, no! Why would you do that!?"

“They’re annoying.” She said ducking her head trying not to show the emotion on her face

"W-well, I can imagine, but..m-maybe don't do that?" Riverpaw furrowed her brow a little, looking at the IVs. Yep, don't know how to put those back in. She shook her head, moving the removed lines away from Aspen.

Rigel eyes widened as he looked back, “Geez, Aspen, if you arent’ going to drive well, then don’t you dare do something like that.” He returned to her bedside, snapping a little bit, “You got a second chance, Aspen. Don’t ruin that,” He turned and went to the door, “I’m getting you a doctor,” He slipped out into the hallway, trying to find someone to flag down.

“No.” She said coldly and took her shaking hands back. No one knew what had happened to her brother, no one knew why she hated hospitals. She wasn’t planning on telling them anytime soon.

Rigel speed walked down the hall, not hearing Aspen’s words, hailing down a nurse, “Hey, a coma patient just woke up in Room [number].”

Aspen folded her legs and thought of her brother

August gave her a soft look, his arm curled around Meun's waste in what he hoped was a comforting manner. His eyes shown with unshed tears. "I'm glad you're awake, Asp. I don't think we would've lived without you."

(Lmfao they’d be extremely close then lol)

Aspen let pled up and her eyes softened. “I know, that’s why I woke up.” She joked, trying to make light if recent events

Meun seemed stunned at first when he saw Aspen. But after a minute, he let out a sob and ran to her. He wrapped his arms around her gently, careful not to hurt her

Colden left the house he was at without incident and went back to the hospital where all of the other people were.

Aspen was surprised at first but then hugged back “why are you crying? I’m not dead right!” She said, trying to console him

Colden went up the stairs instead of the elevators. Then he walked down the hall to the room.

"You almost died!" Meun choked out. "I was so worried," he sniffled, his face buried in the front of Aspen's shirt as he hugged her

Colden Knocked on the door just in case.

Aspen choked. He reminded her of herself

Riverpaw smiled, walking to the other opposite side of the bed to warp her arms around Aspen as well.

“I have become a human burger!” She laughed

The nurse Rigel has flagged down finally arrived at Aspen’s room. Rigel was already in the lobby, pacing. He wanted to make sure Aspen was alright, but at the same time his other half demanded him to go back out and find her body. Or I could find Alfonzo… But he’d just want more clients…

“i wonder what Rigel is doing” aspen thought

August took a step back from the happy scene. "I'm gonna go find Rigel," he said, a bit awkwardly, giving a small wave to his jacket Meun before walking out the door. He walked down to the lobby, finally finding the other. "Hey, why'd you leave? I thought you of all people would be dying to take care of Aspen."

Rigel turned on his heel -a hint of pure fear caught in his eyes before he quickly stoned his expression- to face August, “I- I sent a nurse her way,” He stuttered slightly, innerly cursing himself. I just need a smoke, that’s all…

August raised an eyebrow. "And? Aspen just woke up from a coma; she probably needs the support of her family, and that includes you if you like it or not. Why do you look so torn up about being in the same room as her?"

“August-“ Rigel glued his eyes to the floor, taking a step closer (not romantically in any way lol) to August as he debated actually telling him. He settled, voice barely more than a whisper, “I had seen her as Kate when she crashed, I saw another dead body. And now she’s awake, gosh she’s okay, I can’t- I can’t betray Kate.” There is was. The words said aloud… Rigel never found closure with Kate, and he couldn’t just leave her- even if she was dead. Even if he loved Aspen.

"You aren't betraying her, Rigel. Whoever this Kate person is- if she loved you, she would have wanted you to be happy. And if you're happy with Aspen, I see no reason why Kate would object. You deserve to be happy."

Aspen kept hugging meun, unaware of the drama going outside
