Lilah leaned forward on the counter. "If you let us in, I can promise that my family will dedicate something to the planetarium."
Lilah leaned forward on the counter. "If you let us in, I can promise that my family will dedicate something to the planetarium."
The dude's eyes flicked down, yet Cameron noticed and gently pushed Lilah away from the counter, with a rather frightening glare on his face directed towards the dude.
"I saw that you nasty bastard." His voice had become low and shaky. "So many years into the Feminist Act, and you think you can just goggle at my girlfriend like that?"
The dude sat back, looking nervous. "No-no, sir!"
Lilah stepped back and raised her eyebrows. She hadn't even realized where his eyes had wandered until Cameron said something. She blushed and bit her lip.
Also… Girlfriend? Do you consider yourself that?
I… I'm not sure…
Cameron rose to his full height. "Let us in, or you will face the consequences."
The cashier nodded and printed up two tickets.
Cameron snatched them from the man, gave him a rude gesture, and led Lilah inside.
"Cameron, I don't think that was necessary," Lilah murmured. "There was no need to threaten him."
Cameron shook his head. "It was. Can you tell me straight up it's comfortable when men look at your breasts?" He paused, apparently not giving a damn how awkward that question was, and faced her.
"Okay, for one: I'm covered. Technically, he didn't even see anything. Two: No, it's not comfortable, but I know that's just the way a man's mind works. I have a brother; he tells me things. Lastly, you could have handled that better. I know it," Lilah declared, putting a hand on her hip and turning to face Cameron.
Cameron sighed a brief, angry sigh. "Sure. I could've. If the man actually respected us! But he doesn't. So I had to put my fist down."
You're letting yourself go. Calm down.
Cameron inhaled deeply, taking his own words to heart. Still feeling temperamental, but calmer, he opened his eyes again.
"No, you didn't. Respect is earned, but not through threats. That's how fear is earned," Lilah said gently, crossing an arm over herself and putting her free hand on Cameron's arm.
Cameron shook his head then moved away from her. "Let's not talk about it anymore." He sounded ashamed and broken. He started walking again, following the signs.
Lilah frowned. She would talk to him about it later, but for now… For now, she just wanted to enjoy the date.
"All right," she agreed softly, wrapping her other arm around herself as well.
Cameron put his hands in his pockets, then curled them into fists.
You might actually be a psychopath, you know that?
Yeah, people have told me that before.
I can't stand this silence… But what do I say?
Something. Anything. Just speak.
Lilah sighed. "So…"
I wouldn't call you a total psychopath, though.
Yeah, I kn-
Cameron glanced at Lilah. Did she say something?
I don't think so.
"Where are we headed to, first?" Lilah asked, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye.
"Well, we just follow the signs to the main room, where they'll start the simulation." Cameron pointed up to a sign a little farther ahead that pointed them to the main room.
"Then we'll tour around at the spacial artifacts. I heard they have a meteorite here."
(HOW DID I NOT SEE THIS UNTIL NOW???)
"Cool. I can't wait to get started looking at the stars," Lilah smiled at the thought.
(oof I dunno m8)
Cameron hummed his agreement and turned. They walked into a room with a few people in it already.
"Let's take a seat. The sign outside said the show's going to start soon."
(I didn't even get a notification…)
"All right. Where's the best place to sit?" Lilah asked, looking around the space.
(Wow what the heck Notebook)
"Probably the middle." Cameron led her over, pointing at a row. "Over there looks good."
( It might be because of how I'm doing this, though. I'm not on my laptop like I would like to be, so it's weird.)
"All right." Lilah sat down and looked around. "This is already cool."
(Ahh that makes sense.)
Cameron sat down next to her. "Isn't it? They haven't turned the lights down yet, though."
"Then I can't wait until they do!" Lilah exclaimed quietly.
Cameron grinned a little and nodded his agreement.
A few minutes passed and the lights slowly got turned down. Little bright stars that were coded with the lights popped on.
Ooooooh…
"Wow," Lilah whispered as she looked at it all.
A dude walked out into the main floor and looked around.
"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen! I suppose you're here today…"
It was about two hours later when it finished, and the lights came back on.
"Thank you for coming! Please check out our artifacts from the 2020's and the gift shop! Have a great day everyone!" The presenting man exclaimed, then swept out of the room.
Lilah stood, still amazed at the presentation. "That was so cool…"
(Hey, I might disappear for a while. Idk when or for how long, but I just wanted you to know.)
(Okay, I'm leaving today, though, so if I don't see you after that, have a great weekend and/or week)
Cameron grinned and led her out of the row. "It really is, isn't it? It's just the old-fashioned tech from the 2000's."
(Yeah, you too.)
"Gosh, the old stuff is so interesting," Lilah declared. "My grandma used to show me stuff all the time."
