Rigel took Aspen’s lifeless hands in his -hands that felt too familiar- and prayed, gosh he prayed, that she’d wake up. He reached his hand up to her face, lightly brushing away a strand of hair as he whispered shakily, “Aspen, please. For- For me.”

where am I she saw herself on the hospital bed but saw Rigel beside her. oh my god

As soon as Aspen’s eyes fluttered open, Rigel jumped away, stumbling back a few feet. “Aspen?” He demanded, eyes widened and his heart pounding in his chest. She’s alive, gosh, she’s alive.

Meun immediately shook his head. "No, n-no, you've been amazing to me. You're the only fair thing in this horrible world."

"What did I deserve to end up with someone as sweet as you?" August said, mostly to himself, kissing Meun's hair once more. "Do you want to go back into the room, or do you want to stay here a little longer?"

“I think I want to stay here for a bit. I…I don’t know how well I’ll handle going back in there,” Meun mumbled

As soon as Aspen’s eyes fluttered open, Rigel jumped away, stumbling back a few feet. “Aspen?” He demanded, eyes widened and his heart pounding in his chest. She’s alive, gosh, she’s alive.

“R-ri?” She asked softly. She looked around the room and then looked at herself “where am I?” She rasped

Rigel immediately tried to harden his features, looking away so she wouldn’t notice the puffy redness around his eyes. “You got yourself in a coma, watch where you’re driving next time,” He pointed out coldly, standing up and looking away in attempt to pretend like he hadn’t just cried his eyes out in front of the group. She’s alive, gosh, she’s alive. An immense dread had been lifted off his shoulders.

She tried to speak up, tried to get him to stay but all that came out was a squeak. “R-ri….” she said “stay?” She whispered under her breath

Rigel forced a frown, leaning on the side of the bed as he scoffed, “You’re such a bad driver.” How much does she remember from before she crashed? Rigel didn’t have enough energy to entirely fake his coldness, reaching out and taking Aspen’s hand in his hand.

“What happened? We were talking and then I don’t remember what happened next.” She frowned

“You hit a pothole and crashed,” Rigrl told her but couldn’t look her in the eyes. My fault. It’s my fault she wasn’t paying attention. He kept his face hard, staring out the window.

“O-oh…” she trailed off

Riverpaw gasped quietly, lifting her head to watch Rigel and Aspen. Her eyes are open..she's awake…o-oh my Stars, she's awake! And she's talking to Rigel.. She scrambled out of her seat and went over to peek out the door, spotting August and Meun. "Guys, Aspen's awake!" She called quietly.

Meun whipped around to look at Riverpaw, his eyes wide as he took a moment to process what he was hearing. "She's awake? Really?" he asked frantically

Riverpaw nodded enthusiastically. "Uh-huh! Rigel was talking to her and she woke up; get in here!" She left the door open a bit and went back into the room, rushing over to the bed.

Aspen looked up as river came in the room. Realizing her hand was in Rigel’s, she took it out and smiled at river “hey.” She said and sat up straight

"Hi." Riverpaw smiled. "Are you…" NO she's not okay, stupid, she's in a hospital bed. "H-how do you feel..?" She asked quietly.

Rigel, once he realized everyone else was coming in, jumped to his feet and away from Aspen. He made his way to lean against the wall and stare out the window. I should get back out there.

“Confused but I’m glad that everyone is here even Rigel.” She attempted a weak smirk

Riverpaw glanced at Rigel. Well… "Y-yeah…I'm just glad you're okay."
