"Because it could have hurt my friends and I just wanted him t-to leave peacefully!" Robin seemed to start angry and then sad or ashamed of himself, not wanting to meet his parents eyes. His father sighed, exasperated, putting a hand to his head. "You could have died, Gabriel. You can't talk to the animals." Robin nodded shakily. "B-but they listen to me. They like me. They worried when I was hurt." His eyes were brimming with tears, and Blackberry chirped as though agreeing.

@PuffPoff

"It's true, he can talk to animals." Levi spoke out, pointing to himself. "I saw it. That's why the bird is here." He pointed at Blackberry.

@Fraust

"Gabe…" His mother began. "So do we. You know we care, and we don't want you to keep getting hurt like this. It could end very badly. The bear trap incident, Grayson and Timothy were here, but we were out of town. There was nothing we could have done. You might have died then too." The tears fell from Robin's eyes and he covered his face with his hands. "I-I'm sorry… I d-didn't mean to put myself in s-such danger…"

@Fraust

Robin looked up, a bit surprised, and Blackberry chirped loudly in agreement. "I-I think the animals understand us, i-if they choose to, b-but we just don't understand them." He looked up at his parents. "I may not be able to fully speak to the animals, but I understand them, a-and they understand me."

@PuffPoff

Levi pointed over at Lenny, agreeing with her. "It's true." All he kept thinking was His name is Gabriel? His parents named him GABRIEL?

@Fraust

(Yeah, his full name is Gabriel Robin Jones. He's mostly called Robin, but called by Gabe or Gabriel in serious situations)

@Fraust

"That may be so, but it's no reason for you to throw yourself in front of dangerous animals. Surely that's the kind of animal that wouldn't listen." Robin looked away and said something, barely audibly. "Everyone d-deserves a chance…"

@PuffPoff

Levi sighed, feeling bad for Robin. He stood up and continued crossing his arms. "The bear was just rude. It's like talking to people. Most of them are nice and they'll listen to you, but there's always one that's rude."

@Fraust

Robin looked up at Levi, smiling slightly. "What would Grayson think?" His father went on. "What would he think of you purposefully putting yourself in danger after the trap? He remembers it clearly, recalling it with fear. He wants to protect you Gabe, but you're making it very difficult, aren't you?" Robin looked away again, more tears falling from his eyes. He cared about his older brother very much, who seemed to be the only one who truly understood his affinity with animals. He accepted Robin for it, didn't shame him or make him feel like a freak.

@PuffPoff

Levi groaned. Why did adults never listen to him? "Whoever this Grayson is would probably think the same way Lenny and I are thinking. He tried to calm the bear so it wouldn't attack us. I remember my fear from the attack, but I also remember Robin's bravery." He took a breath, pointing at Robin. "You're making your son cry! Don't you realize that he might have made one mistake and that's it?"

@Fraust

Robin's parents sighed. "Grayson is his brother, older by four years. Gabriel, though you probably know him as Robin, has done things like this many times. It must be addressed, so that he doesn't keep putting himself in danger. It doesn't mean we love him any less, we just want him to be safe." Robin understood his parents' reasoning, but he had always hated being in trouble. Just his parents calling him up to their room was enough to fill his heart with fear and anxiety. He closed his eyes, turning away and trying to wipe away his tears halfheartedly.

@PuffPoff

Levi leaned back against the wall, mumbling to himself. "If you call that a reason…"

@Fraust

After Robin's parents had finished scolding him, his mother helped him out of the bed so they could go home. "C-can my friends come with us?" His parents agreed and Robin insisted on walking by himself, even though it was painful. He had cracked one of his ribs when the bear attacked him, in addition to the main wound.

@PuffPoff

Levi stood up and followed them out of the room. "Robin, are you sure you don't need help?"

@Fraust

"I-I'm fine." Robin had one arm across his chest, walking slowly but saying nothing about the pain. He bit his lip to distract himself, and was glad when they got outside so he could distract himself with the animals instead. His lip was bleeding.

@PuffPoff

Levi sighed. If he said he didn't need help, he wouldn't help him. "Alright, if you say so."

@Fraust

Robin decided to use Papaver for support, the fawn gladly walking by his side. His parents saw his little posse of animals, but decided to say nothing about them.

@PuffPoff

(I'm sorry if I don't respond right away I'm watching the best video ever and laughing my head off so)

@Fraust

(Lol it's fine I watch videos when I'm waiting, and frequently check Notebook to see where I need to respond)

@PuffPoff

Levi looked over at Lenny, whispering. "Do you think he'll be alright?"

@Fraust

(Huh)
They eventually made it to Robin's house, taking a while so Robin wouldn't be left behind with his slow pace. A young buck ran up to him once he was near the forest next to his house, greeting him and Papaver. Robin stroked the deer, who was apparently called Arbor.

@PuffPoff

"What's this one called?" Levi asked, petting the buck.

@Fraust

"I call him Arbor, Latin for tree. Papaver is his little sister, actually." He smiled at the two deer, who seemed to be conversing with each other in a way. The three birds settled themselves on Arbor's antlers.

@PuffPoff

"Cool." Levi looked around. "Wow, your house is a lot better than my apartment."
