Her heart fluttered as his icy eyes were suddenly soft as he spoke. She laughed a little, dimples showing. "I can't wait." She put her hand over her mouth to hide delight without having to look away.

“No,” Blue reassured, then forced a smile, “I’m fine, Vash.” He looked the other way, down the hallway, “We should get lunch, I’m starved.”

"Right." She said the pull of separation growing. "I love you" she said desperation in her voice. Vash headed off to lunch a step ahead blue.
(This is like a book I have. Uuugh my heart.)

"Me neither." His head turned her way, Ty didn't ever try to hide his excitement. A huge smile was on his face, as he imagined what it was going to be like. "Don't cover you're smile." He took her hand off her face and poked one of her dimples. "It's cute."

The words from her mouth would usually meant so much to Blue, but that hollow feeling overtook it. He followed quietly behind Vash. Something felt severed between them, something was missing. Blue wanted to fix it, but felt paralyzed by himself. He finally said, “I love you too.” The words felt strange on his tongue.

Xavier had said the same thing when they first met, but this time it felt real. She laughed as he poked her. "Heeeeeeeyyyy!!!" She put on a childish pouty face while crossing her arms. She hunched her back slightly.

"Would it help if I told you what happened…" She wanted to fix this (and so do I!) Vash looked at her hands on the table.

"You don't ever have to feel embarrassed about them." He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her forehead. He thought it might be too soon for a real kiss, so this will have to do. "You're adorable when you make a pouty face." He laughed and pulled her close.

"Whatever." Kate laughed and laid her head on his chest. She could hear his heart beating. She closed her eyes and matched his breathing. The simple kiss to the forehead said so much more than one would think. It showed respect, friendship, trust, and love. It said everything.

“So what class do you have next?” He asked

"I have band and then English next. What about you?" She asked, hoping they might have at least one class together.

“I have a free class then English. After lunch I have art.” He said

"So I might see you in English and we can walk to lunch together!" Ash clapped her hands together with giddiness.

Liam smiled “sure!”

Ty laid down on the floor and pulled her down with him so her head was still on his chest. "This is nice." He took a deep breath and closerled his eyes. "Is there anything you want me to bring this weekend?"

She sighed gently into his chest, eyes still closed. She felt strangely at home. "Not really." She brought her knees up closer to absorb any warmth she could.

Ty ran his hand through her hair, playing with it. "Well, if you do at some point just tell me." He gently kissed the top of her head. Them just laying in the art room by themselves was good enough for him. He just wanted to squeeze her, but he held back, he didn't want to hurt her.

It was like the rest of the school was non-existent. It was just them, eyes closed and hearts open. She put her arm over him and gently held his side, not wanting to let go of this moment. "Okay."

"Would it help if I told you what happened…" She wanted to fix this (and so do I!) Vash looked at her hands on the table.

“I-“ Gosh, now Blue just felt guilty, “Vash, I-“ He didn’t want to force her. He couldn’t let himself force her. And she might insist on telling him if he didn’t confess, so… “Gosh, Vash, I- I wanted to cut myself.” Next thing he knew, he was crumple by the side of the wall, trying to hold in tears. He knew how wrong it was yet he couldn’t stop the urge of taking a knife to his arms.

"Blue…" Vash's face fell, "promise me you won't. Gosh darn it promise me." Her hand flew to his. "Do it and…I'll…I'll go back home to Joe" either way she had to go back so it wouldn't matter. But if she could keep him from hurting himself she'd say anything.

"We'll have to go back to class at some point." That what he said, but his body and mind just wanted to stay. But his grandma would worry if he skipped, though he didn't really want to go back to class. "Should we stay or go?" He'll let Kate pick.

“I-“ Blue buried his head in his hands. I can’t cry here, not now, not in school, “Vash, I- I can’t stop that feeling, Vash,” Blue swallowed he sob and instead whispered, “Vash, Vash, Vash, please don’t go back to him.” He couldn’t protect her if she was with him, he couldn’t do anything.

Her face fell, she had to tell him. "I have to go back. I made a deal. But I'll be fine. And so will you." She knew the feeling of wanting to hurt herself. Of feeling like the only way to relieve the pain was to create more pain. (I promise I just know these things I am a writer.) "Look just resist the urge…please?"

Kate knew they both wanted to stay. They could lay there in silence for hours just breathing together. "I don't know." She sighed. "Sorry, I'm not very good at deciding this kinds of things. Well, I want to stay, but then there's missing classes."

"Alright we should go back to class. I don't want to be the one who makes your grades go down." He lifted her up before sitting up himself. "What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't worry about your education." He laughed and stood, then pulled her to her feet. "You ready?"

Kate laughed. "I am." She held tight to his hand. She looked up into his eyes and smiled, excited for what was to come. "But are you ready?"

"Hm." He looked at the door. He was scared people would start rumors about Kate. He wouldn't let that happen. He squeezed her hand and took a deep breath. "Yeah, let's go." He held the door open for her and waited for her before walking out himself. 8n the distance Xavier was talking to do some football friends, when he looked there way and stared to walk over.

Kate felt her chest burn as he neared. Shoot. She thought of what she was going to say m, but it all just jumbled together. He stopped when he came to them. "Hey." Her voice was as timid as ever.

"Hey." He saw that they were holding hands and smiled. For some reason he felt more happy than sad at this moment. "Congratulations." He hugged the both of them. "Ty you should cut your hair, then you can show Kate how good looking you really are." Ty narrowed his eyes and slapped Xavier's hand away playfully. "I'll think about it."

Kate felt relived as the pressure lifted from her chest. She was glad Xavier was so supportive. She laughed as they need around, unconditional friends. She squeezed Ty's hand a little. "Short or long, it doesn't matter. He's still Ty."

"But just take a look." Xavier lift up Ty's showing his full face. Ty was half Mexican so his skin was a nice tan color which looked good with his icy blue eyes. "I've always been jealous of his nice skin." Ty pushed Xavier off and his black hair fell over his forehead again. "Please don't do that."

"You're right!" She honestly couldn't believe that she hadn't noticed how handsome he was without his hair mask. "You should wear it back more often. That is, if you want to." She smiled up at him.

Ty clicked his tongue and glared at Xavier. This is his fault. in his pocket was a hair clipped he used to clip his bangs back so he could paint. He pulled it out and clipped his bangs back. "There." He crossed his arms and pouted looking away. He thought it was embarrassing. "Ty, come on. Dont bring out you're adorable pouty face." Xavier said in a way you would when you talk to a baby. "I take our friendship back, I really do hate you." Xavier laughed and Ty did as well.
